Which hunter and which pet?...

Unread post by Slickrock »

So.. I have Slick to 85, and he's camped for Jadefang. Naak is on the shelf for now. No energy to do the 80-85 again soon.

So started 2 baby hunters. one Goblin, one Worgen. Both are about lvl 5 now, and will get each to 10 to see how I feel about them. ONE will get a set of heirloom gear, and get played first. Don't know which yet.

So now to the point of why this is in the pet forum?

What would be the most epic tame for a fresh level 10 Worgen or Goblin? Slick did the red lynx from the BE starting zone back when he was a space-goat, so the red lynx is out.

For the Worgen, I'm thinking a armoured boar from the Tauren starting zone. That would be a challenge.

For the Goblin, I don't really know.. trying to think of something that would be an epic tame.

Any ideas?.. Don't know which I will decide to go with, but I want something epic that I will stick with for a while.

For the goblin how about the rare cat in night elf starting zone? :)

Yeah. I was going to suggest the Nelf starting zone myself. I was going to suggest an owl (which was the traditional 'first hard to tame pet') but the rare cat would work well.

Or alternatively, how about a ravager? See if you can get to Azuremist Isle and get yourself a vicious little green beast for your vicious little green beast!

Hmm.. Either of those ideas are good for the Goblin. The rarity of the cat does make it more epic.

IMO turtle for goblin, wolf for worgen :O)
Cat is not a right pet for both of them. As same as a boar. Or bird :O)
Bear may be good for worgen.

Hmm... yeah, not a cat for the Worgen, could work for the Goblin. I was also thinking Daggercape Hawk for the worgen, that might work. Ravager is still good for Goblin too... no wolves. Turtle.. if there was an epic tame one, but I don't see one that's hard to get.

Maybe Screamslash or the Daggercape hawk for the Worgen

Duskstalker or the Ravager for the Goblin...

I'm looking at the 1-11 sort on Petopia, I'm not seeing anything else jumping out at me as a unique starting pet skin...

Aw, I thought a puppy with a pet kitty was an adorable idea. /squee

Uh yeah, all I was going to really suggest was the owls from Teldrassil but someone beat me to it hehe. Ravager for the goblin sounds cool though.

OH! OH! *I* know what you can tame for true epicness!

A Rustberg Gull!

Mind you, you'll need some help to get there...

I like it!! If its' possible to get summoned there... that's the question. Can anyone confirm that they are 1-5, and that a 10 can get summoned there? (Of course, this is for the goblin...)

And I'm still liking the hawk from Nothrend for the Worgen.

Any other ideas?..

I can confirm that they are 1-5. I posted a screenshot of a level 2 gull (and his tameable tag). I think I've once seen a level 6 one, but even if I did, I saw no higher. They're all very low level. It's the human mobs around you need to fear. ;)

As for getting summoned there, I'm pretty sure that you can get a warlock to summon you there with a stone. Then you just need to get to Rustberg.

seems every lowbie hordy goes running to the Nelf starting area...but not everyone goes to northrend for the Stormcrow...
Worgen or goblin would look epic with that
There is also the Seagulls for a tough Golbin tame

*Edit* should have read all the suggestions before posting lol seems these ides's were already said :P

At lvl28 you will be able to get Ghamoo-ra, best designed turtle in the game :O)
And she has unique skin.

Demon dog and raptor seem like they're more just pets that require a stubborn streak and laced up running shoes for worgen.

I've got a tauren with an owl, troll who had a ravager by 13 or 14, whatever level the orange ones first become tameable. I'd think the 2 above are comparable in difficulty, which isn't to say it's not impressive...just that I'm not sure that's really THE toughest.

Stormcrow's definitely a bit of a challenge...I helped my sister snag one, but even with a DK high enough to be there by rights and PoF it was still a death or two when things charged up and smooshed her from further than expected.

When I was a baby Draenei, I doffed my clothes and ran/died across Tirisfal, the Western and Eastern Plaguelands, thence toward the Blood Elf zone, to tame a dragon hawk.

To avoid some of the problems on land, I swam around the coast of the Eastern Kingdoms. In truth, I circumnavigated, and thus knew about the isolated dwarf village on the east coast, and a couple temples on the north. It was an interesting night, and very fulfilling.

But my favorite pet was my ravager. :)

I'm back!!!!!

So, to necro this thread...

Finally got my Worgen out of the starting zone. Was a bit surprised the way it ended (hadn't read any spoilers) and was surprised where I ended up. Neeedless to say I ran to SW as fast as I could.

So, he's 14, and he needs an epic pet.

I went and tried Vultros, but Vultros seemed like a baby next to that hulking Worgen body, so I dumped him and went to get a black boar for now.

So I need ideas.

Do I still go for the Daggerhawk, or is there something else close to 14 that would be epic and/or not otherwise available until much later?
