As I said along my way to 85, I managed to find Terrorpene. I remember the night before his tame, I had just hit 81. I was dead tired but checked his spawn just in case. Nothing. So I said in guild, "Good night, Terrorpene. I'll see you tomorrow." The next day I went out to find him. Along my flight back to Hyjal a hunter in guild told me that Terrorpene was kill the night before at 2am long after I had logged. Being that it was 8 hours from his last known sighting, I figured that I was just going out to camp for a bit. I swooped down near the lava and hit my macro. Instantly my WiM window pops up, and I think that I must have accidentally had something targeted when I hit the macro that whispers when it targets. But to my surprise it was Terrorpene! I hopped down, pulled out my Corehound, hit his BL and began to tame. Yeah. I went down in 2 seconds. I had 35k HP. So I told my boyfriend that was on his main, a Priest. And after a few agonizing minutes later waiting for his arrival, Terrorpene stood at my side. He and I continued to level together. Turtles are so awesome for leveling.
So meet Mzee. It's a name of some 130 year old turtle.
Finally, I reach level 85 by the end of Thursday night. I pat around Twilight Highlands a bit hoping to find Karoma or Sambas. No luck in spotting them so I decide that Ghostcrawler might be an easier find. He's a level 85 in a level 80-82 zone and hits like a truck. I highly doubt people will be killing him often. And a few minutes and one quest later, I was out to look for him. I swim out to his pat area and spot his little yellow dot on my tracking. I swim down and try to trap him. I forgot whether he was trappable or not. And freaked out when he hit me a lot harder than I expected. I feigned just in case. And he ran off to phase out. The next 10 minutes I swam all around his spawn just praying he'd come back. I was the only Horde 85 hunter. But what about Alliance?! And I am relieved to find him once again just swimming around. I swim down and the tame went smoothly.
Meet Zhevra. His name is funny at least to me. We all know how GC likes to say "I want mah pony!" when it's classes begging for this and that. So I had considered Pony for some time. But then I realized what "mah pony" is. It's being able to tame a Zhevra. And that became his name.
I came back to Twilight Highlands to check for Karoma and Sambas again. No luck with either. And I decided that since I didn't find either of them quickly that the next day I would start advertising in General. That night I said in guild, "Good night, Karoma. I'll see you tomorrow." I came home from work the next day and began to look for her. No sign of her for a little over an hour so I decide to help my guild out and run a heroic on my Main. She could use it. I come back and pat a bit more. Hit my ad in General a couple times and decided to check on Jadefang. The story about him is ridiculous, and I detailed it in another thread. No need to be a broken record. Anyhow, I came back to look for Karoma, and nothing still. I logged for a bit for dinner and came back for her. As soon as I post in General someone told me that she spawned earlier, but I had logged. And she was killed. I was so frustrated, but kept looking. I tried to time out the times I logged and guess when she had to have popped. I had a feeling she'd be up in the next few hours. And as I decided that I was going to gather herbs while I patted, NPCscan blew up. I dropped down after about 10 seconds of, "AMG. WHERE IS SHE?! I CAN'T SEE HER!" And she's howling as if she was calling for me.
Meet Kaela. She's named after my dog. Kinda. His name is Kael. And yes, he is named after Kael'Thas. My boyfriend and I are power nerds. All of our pets get video game character names.
I decided that after an hour of checking on Sambas to just go to sleep. I'll see him the next day. I wake up the next morning and took care of a bit of business in real life. Once again I began to pat for him. And a few moments into my patting, NPCscan goes nuts. But I can't see him or target him anywhere. I relogged and cleared my Cache. Still nothing. He probably was dead or tamed, I thought. After I came home from work that evening, I went back to patting for him. I ran into another hunter that was also looking for him. He was camping spots with a couple friends while I patted. And we said that we would help each other out if either one of us found him first. And after a few hours, I was exhausted. I asked the hunter to in game mail me if he tamed Sambas after I left. And I said in guild, "Good night, Sambas. I'll see you tomorrow." I logged on this morning to a mail from said hunter detailing that he had tamed at 6:15am. So I decided camping him would be best at the 6 hour mark. I come back after 6 hours. And nothing. Well he could pop still so I kept flying. I had to log for a bit at the 8 hour mark, but was back for 9. Still nothing. A lot of hunters on his path, but not him. Well I'm out there for the 12 hour mark. And still nothing. I saw a hunter camping his spawn had logged out shortly after 6:15pm. And was panicked that he found Sambas. I have no Alli toons so I didn't want to switch over. Plus I wasn't completely sure. After about an hour I had the idea to check his armory. He had a level 85 cat, but the image wasn't showing. And I was almost certain that I had missed my chance. I told myself to take a small break and send my main over to Jadefang to get the minipet (sorry guys. I'm not happy with him). And arrived to see his corpse, a hunter with him tamed, and the minipet. Funny thing was I delayed my switch by 5 minutes. That probably would have been me. Oh well. I know when he died. Anyhow, I spend the next bit of time trying to decide whether I should make a lvl 1 Alli and try to whisper said hunter. I decided against it after all and logged back on. And suddenly after flying about 20 yards, NPCscan blew up. I was panicked. I was at a common camp site. I just knew he was a pet. But as I landed, it was him. I hit my tame. And he was mine. Oddly he literally appeared after I hit my General ad. So I informed General of my tame that was followed with much congratulations. Most of those people had spent about a day reading my ad.
Meet Pierce. It's a bit less of a clever name, but I looked into his piercing eyes. And it just fit.
Anyhow, thank you if you stuck through this thread and read everything I typed. I am just so happy to have completed my list. And I wanted to share it with a community that is just as insane as me about these guys. My guild doesn't really get it.
And yes, nice names all round.
