Gah, I've been looking off and on quite a bit recently, even in weird off-hours, and haven't seen claw nor tail of this grand creature. Really hoping for brown the most, but I will also be happy with black or green. Maybe even red. Blue's about the only one I don't want. Please Madexx...you're the only scorpid I like!!! <3 /tosses cookies

Since apparently this is the good luck topic, I'm going to post and see if it helps me any XD

Been looking for Madexx on and off... mostly off, I try not to get worked up over pet tames these days. Today marks my first serious attempt at camping the bugger. Not after any colour in particular, although I wouldn't mind saving that glorious green for my goblin, if he ever gets leveled anyway.

EDIT: After 4-5 hours of camping, I see Madexx... Dead in the sand, not too far from where I was camping. I'm a little disappointed, but I have a spawn time to go off of at least. Green model too, which I'd still rather have on my Goblin.
Still, feel a little crushed none the less. But that happens. Hopefully next time I see the guy, I'll be in the right spot in the right time.

So, turns out my Madexx luck was a little delayed, but it came about nonetheless.

I was logging onto my hunter each half hour to check, not really feeling up for a long camp like last time. I'd do a quick fly-over of the zone before logging off at one of her spawns spots, the one closest to the river... which is where I saw her corpse yesterday. At 7:03 server (about 26 hours after seeing Green Madexx dead), I log into Durana once more and begin her little circle, only to have NPC scan blare off at me after a few seconds heading westward. Red Madexx! I target her, half expecting to target another dead corpse. But she's alive!

In a surpised and paniced state, I zoom down and drop a freezing trap... which a hapless camel rider wanders into. >.<
No biggie, Madexx doesn't hit hard. I mash the tame beast button, hoping as the timer counts down that someone doesn't come down and kill her. Thankfully not, and after 10 seconds, the gorgeous arthropod shrinks and toddles oevr to me, before killing the camel rider in the trap.
Alas, I didn't think to snap a mid-tame screenshot due to the frenzied "amgrarespawn" state hunters get in. I couldn't be more thrilled with her colours, the red is so striking.

The good luck thread continues to be good luck! Thank you petopia forum luck gods, and Comett for letting me hyjack your thread. As of yet unnamed Scorpid dances for you!

Hopefully the luck will rub off on me here as well. Been camping him with 3 other hunters for almost 24 hours straight now with no Madexx siting. One hunter had the northern spot, I had the northeastern, another northwestern with the last doing circles. It's gotten to the point where I think the npc spawn time is glitched so I went ahead and put in a ticket. Hopefully by tomorrow, the server reset will fix them, or a blue will reply on what's going on.

We have had a team of hunters looking for him for over 24 hours..... with no sightings.

spawn timer longer than 1 day? I mean its possible some horde tamed him in 10 seconds and hearthed out with none of our NPC scans going off... but damn.

I've given up on him for now in favor of Jadefang, which by all accounts should be a little easier to camp. As of right now, I'm the only person in its spawn point, I've got windowed mode on and my sound turned way up so that NPC Scan (if/when it goes off) will be loud and clear. I've got six hours to dedicate before I have to turn in for the night. Let's hope it spawns!!!

I logged on this morning around 3 am ST did a few loops for 30 minutes, went back to bed. Got up to go to work and check again. Both times I saw a troll hunter looking for him. Get off work log in and check again, nothing, but that troll hunter is still flying around.

Leave to do some quick shopping. Come home and do a few laps and that troll is still there. Go do the best daily in the world (Thieving Little Pluckers) return and that troll hunter flies away.

I do about two more laps and drop down to hearth so I can go do the Tol Barad dailies and right as I land he literally spawns right in front of me. I drink a haste potion as I run up into range and just hit tame, and pray. Tame finishes and now I'm the proud owner of a red Madexx!

Have all the new rares now! So happy.

Wow, talk about crazy luck. I almost feel a little bad for the other guy but hey, that's what luck/RNG is all about. If you wanted, you could make a horde alt to let the guy know when you got Madexx to give him an idea of when to check again. Completely up to you, of course.

POSTING FOR GOOD LUCK i've actually been camping for about 24 hours now with no sight of this elusive, devilsaur sized scorpion... I wish i knew when or how i missed him but i really really want this guy and i refuse to level until i find him. I love all his models but green is quite amazing to me... At this point i wouldn't even mind finding him dead but still i want him!

I have farmed every rare spawn and received it including 2 time losts and i refuse to give up on any rare spawn... i can't believe how patient i can get but i have devised an amazing plan for madexx and future tames.
