Wow, I didnt expect this post to get so big. lol I was mostly just venting my anger. Glad to know that post on MMOchampion annoyed more than just me.

Getting Loque after months of camping off and on was entirely satisfying, and it wouldn't have been if I just found him without a struggle first. It's not like the rarespawns were "our little secret". They're for hunters everywhere.

I doubt this would help, but they should really post that they don't drop anything of use. Someone on Wowhead mentioned they almost killed a rarespawn tameable because they didn't know it was for hunters.


Also, I feel we're going to be griefed no matter what. It's not going to last forever.

Edit: Except Jadefang. I'm hunting him for the small pet. >.< So non hunters waiting for that one makes sense.

B: Get Boub to rectify this and explain the mobs drop nothing, are worthless and outside of the griefers most should stop.

Let's think about that for a minute... Do you really think that Boub making a post about how these are special little flower pets just for hunters will really make the gankers stay away?... I don't think so. It will just encourage them.

Yes the fact that they posted it annoyed me. But trying to put up a "just for hunters" sign will only draw attention and make it worse.

Boubouille's simply doing his job really. He puts in a lot of work to gather game information and make it readily available to us. Sure I'll make lighthearted comments about 'Oh darn, here comes the competition!', but it's nothing less than I expected. This information was already available to those who could take a few minutes to do some research, Boubouille has just compiled it in an organized format for the benefit of others, as should be expected from him running a WoW information site.

I do think there should be a small clarification that the tameable rares do not drop anything truly worthwhile. Not only from a hunter's standpoint, but also so other players don't waste their time camping and killing them for what they think will be a reward. Hey, at least there's no Rare Killing Achievement this expansion, which he also reinforced in his article.

Overall though, this was bound to happen, and we just had a few weeks of a headstart to grab our rares before the rest of the community became aware of their info.

Yeah. It's just ... oh good grief. I'm glad Tahlian got Sambas because now I see EVERY spawn point for him and Karoma is camped now. A warrior at one, hunters at the rest. I'm never gonna get Madexx. Oh well. At least I got my squee spider. <3

Truthfully it's not much different from Mania and other such people who dedicate their time to gathering information and relaying it to us in a concise and easy-to-navigate format. We all rely on many WoW fansites for info, and they try to help us out as much as possible by giving us the answers we search for.

I understand the frustration of suddenly having to deal with more competition over the rares, but that's no reason to make a scapegoat out of someone who's only intention is to provide something to us, the players.

*nods to Veph* My griping was general griping about there being even more competition at the moment. But there's NO VALUE in the camp this time, so pretty much everyone but hunters and griefers will back off of the hunter pets eventually, no doubt.

In my defense, at the time of that post, I was pretty pissed. I'm gonna be frank, I don't handle mobs being killed in front of me well. I didn't take it kindly in Vanilla, didn't take nicely to it in Outlands, lost my cool about it with Loque and didn't like it now. @_@

Though also, considering I have seen 0 people on my realm camping Sambas, Karoma, Ghostcrawler, Madexx, the camel figurines, or Aeonaxx and now the latter 3 have either people hanging around the site in droves (aeonaxx) and majority being non-Hunters (Madexx), I am going to chalk it up to not just 'coincidence' that the spike of non-hunters camping in the hunter-pet-rare areas being suddenly there post-MMO news.

Exactly. As someone whose followed MMO for *years*, I find it extremely odd that Boub decided to post the Hunter pet rares. I'm not blaming him entirely, but I am gonna be on the side of the fence that found it to be a poor decision to post those up there.

Don't get me wrong - I expected more competition over time. But it IS his fault for giving misleading info and now even non-hunters are camping the tamables to kill them. I am shocked by how /much/ more competition showed up suddenly, but c'est la vie.

Edit: And yes, it is the holidays. Many of us will have winter break/time off. That is why I made sure to get Jadefang before SEMESTER OF CALCULUS started. I'm not gonna have much wow time at all.

I suppose that headstart us hunters had in regards to spending a week or two taming all the rares we can is over/about to be over! It was always going to happen sometime I suppose.

At least the article was edited. ^_^ Better than nothing.

Edit: As another note, it may not 100% be the article that's increased players camping the rares, as it's almost Christmas so I'm sure quite a few people took time off work etc if they could... perhaps that's also a part of it and it will die down again in a few weeks.

Oh dont get me wrong, I knew it would happen sometime. It was just odd to have that post made, then suddenly so many people on the spawns. :/ And the guy earlier today who killed Karoma and posted the tear in general and started ranting about it, just kinda rubbed salt in the wound. Oh that hurt. I have been hunting Karoma for a week now..
