Hello every one!

I'm new to post, but have been lurking around lately! This fantastic site, resources, and humble community have helped me a immensely. I came here without knowing much of anything, back from a year long break, and was blown away by our new stable slots and all of these beautiful, new, rare pets. I knew right away that I was committed!

I'm sort of in a rut, in that I'm on a very old WoW server. It bounces between Medium, High, to Full, depending on the weather. Because of this, I begrudgingly saved little Miss Jadefang for my final, major hunt.

It's been tough, despite my luck with other rares. It's been about 3 days, and so far I've seen her killed and tamed. The cave is always being patrolled and camped by players. I've seen people bombing others out of the cave, or throwing snowballs to mess up targeting. Multiple hunters may stand on top of each other with intentions to tame, and I'm not exactly sure what they expect will come out of it.. When I finally have peace and quiet in the cave, Miss Jadefang is always too shy to come out, hehe.

This isn't a PVP server, and I never camp on top of another, whether they're Horde, Alliance, Hunter, or non-hunter. Sadly, many don't share my code of conduct. Hehe xD

I'd love for some comments from others who come from highly populated servers. Jadefang seems extremely difficult to tame; one spawn point, mini-pet collectors, hunters, dailies, NPCscan, and people walking by, wondering, "What's goin' on up there?"

How do you beat the odds?

Personally I'm going to wait a little while for people to get disappointed and frustrated and leave. There is a lot of hype right now but I'm hoping most of the people camping Jadefang have no idea what a real camp is like (aka some non-hunters). They will find out soon enough that you can't just stand there for an hour and it'll spawn and you're the only one there. I know it might sound harsh but I hope they stand there for 2 days and have someone else come along and tame it or kill it before they get the chance. After a few weeks hopefully the only people left will be the ones that are serious about it. I'm in no rush!

Yes, I believe you're very right about hype. I notice that many campers arrive and are extremely aggressive and in your face for about a while, and then leave. *LOTS* of players hold onto their bombs and log off in the cave.

When others decided to sit on top of me, I tossed traps down and called a pet out to stand at the spawn point, with aggressive turned on. I wanted it to give the impression that I'm wasn't just going to hit the tame button and hope it didn't get stolen. Maybe if they thought I was in for the kill, they'd give up (Of course the whole time, I'm pleading with my monitor for this guy to leave, haha). It sent some folks away.. It's a shame, but a hunter with no pet out and no intentions to kill the rare, might come off as a push-over and a easy steal.

Or maybe I just spent too many hours in the cave trying to psycho-analyze every one around me..

My plan is to not camp if there is ever anyone else there, and I'm not even going to hold onto the tickers until after I have the Pebble minipet. I will probably end up taming Ghostcrawler before Jadefang.

Friend of mine, who I have helped to tame rare pets a few times, found Jadefang today, and asked if I wanted him to keep tagging him for me until I got there. Unfortunately, I'm not 85 on my hunter yet, so I told him to just go ahead and tame the beastie for himself instead. He promised to keep on eye on the spider, because he knows it's the pet I'd really like to have once my wee hunter is big enough. <3 Those wee spiders have stolen my heart ever since I heard them "squee" for the first time. ;^; I can't make myself to kill a single one of em anymore.

It definately takes awhile with this one. I have been camping him for days and not seen him once yet. But soon I am sure

man, I guess I have gotten lucky.. 3 days of random checks netted me Terrorpene, ghostcrawler was just chillin there when i went to tame him, and Jadefang too was sitting there waiting for me when I arrived at the cave. The problem was figuring out how to GET him. Yay nelf! I have, however, had a guildy suddenly say in guild chat " I just killed this lion rarespawn. Never seen that before"

On my server she's quite unknown...nobody knew about her but me and another hunter. whih i dunno if he's gotten it or not. I killed Jadefang for the minipet, got a friend there for the minipet and a close hunter i know to tame ^^. + i've seen it up for about three other times but couldn't be bothered by it anymore...pff

I've gone everyday to see if she is there and she never is. I've been sitting on the daily quest for weeks hoping I can catch her. There are always people camping her when I get there too and people running around with the minipet. She's the last rare I need

I just got my second Jadefang.. Or I tamed it this time, last time I got the mini pet. Anyway, both times I found it was between 11am and 12am. When I was camping him still not knowing whether to kill or tame. After a few hours of camping, a warlock proceeded to kill me, not once but three times. I got a buddy over and he helped me get the lock and he didn't come back while I was there. Next morning after server restarts, Wednesday I found him. He popped while I was in the bathroom, so he was up for a good ten minutes before I got back, and was pretty surprised no one had come by.

So now I have my own little shale spider familiy.

My npc went off on it a cpl of days ago but I didn't know how to find it until I read thru the forums. I've been back a few times camping a bit and there were almost always other people there. Last night I want back towards the tunnel to get there and the NPC Scan goes off!! So I jumped to the rock, put down the bomb and KABOOM there I go flying into the side of the wall missing the cave.. UGG So back on my mount , Now Im worried that it will be gone of course. So, back on the rock.. bomb.. Kaboom and I fly into the cave!! And there is Jadefang and a Nightelf hunter sitting there.. I cast the tame and bam, Jadefang is mine!! The Nightelf is still sitting there obviously AFK.. I took a shot Ill post later of my new pet.. I felt sorry for the hunter that was camping. (Sort of) Anyway, I can imagine the frustration when you get back and the NPC Scan has gone off, Jadefang is gone, and you were away.. Thats gotta stink

Don't feel too bad--as a night elf myself, I just took advantage of the wisp form to tame Jadefang this morning, since I didn't have the tickers on me.

I will probably end up taming Ghostcrawler before Jadefang.

And I found Ghostcrawler right after I finished the Deepholm dailies, so the only rare I'm hunting now is Aotona.

I got lucky and found her easypeasy to tame her, but now I'm camping for the minipet with little luck. I logged off for 20 minutes tonight to eat dinner, and logged back in to have her dead at my feet :C
