And that is number five. I spotted Jadefang when I logged back in and bagged him for the stables. Only the Scorpid left.

And finally the hunt is done ! On the morning patrol I caught Madexx, the 6th and final of the Cataclysm Rares. Ahhhhh time to rest now. My pre-raid preparations are also done so I can now fool around on alts

I also got the mini Jadefang pet the other day.
I decided not to "want" aspecific colour of Madexx, I think that's a one way ticket to the looney house

Having said that, I quite like the blue

In a bit of a surprise move I caught Terror Spinner, the last of the Lich King rares I had not caught yet. I was tanking on my DK in Vortex Pinnacle when the tank of my raid group Loki, called Missen, suddenly told me he spotted it during archeology. I nicely finished the last boss and moved to Thorkas whilst Missen guarded it for me.

Minutes after taming I saw a rival hunter depart the scene of the camp.

I did have to abandon Naraxis for it but I figured it was worth it because Terror was the last of my WotLK rares.

I was going to resist taming the 4.2 rares seeing as I have a full stable already !

Soooo resistance failed.

I set my sights on Deth’tilac, Solix, Kirix and Ban’thalos. The rest were not unique or I didn’t really like them.
Been hunting the big purple Deth'tilac but got unlucky because he is VERY popular and hunters arent afraid to steal one anothers tame. Considering the fact the pre-tame battle this is a bit annoying. Already spotted thrice, failed thrice. Curse you !! /shakes fist

I found red Solix and died horribly a couple of times until I got the hang of the kite you have to do with him...so well in fact...I accidentally killed him without him laying a finger on me Stupid Thorkie. I realised later I made a mistake. You really have to tame him at 48% ENERGY rather then health

Next was green Kirix. Boy oh boy that big spider speeds about like Roadrunner on cocaine. Luckily my Resto Shaman friend Eleutherai was around and his VERY smart use of healing totems and Heroism surely got me the pet. Awesome job Elu <3



During all my 4.2 camping I made hunter friends. I helped them tame new rares and in turn they helped me when Deth'tilac spawned ! Oh my that guy is big...and scary...and slowly comes at you with steely determination ! I'm sure I heard Jaws music !

Traps, concussive shot, sending in the pet to die and to web. Oh my what a rush.

But fourth time is a charm. No one griefed this time around and the big nasty spider was mine, moments before he would insta kill me Thanks for helping Nosnova!

A day later I spotted Ban'thalos and pulled him. Six other players started nuking it when I tried to tame it so eh...yes. Considering you need a ton of tricks to survive and that you can't use those when others disrupt your fight...This meant I died horribly and the pet lay dead minutes later...and all they got was a vendor item worth 25g

But not second time I spotted him.
I was camping my usual spot, another hunter was there. Suddenly the Spirit Owl spawned and my heart started thumping. I was nervous because of the Worgen Hunter, clearly camping for the same pet. I'd prepped this tame immaculately luckily and although his Moonfire ticks for 30k I managed to survive it for 20 sec minus haste

This left me with a pet and a very confused Worgen Hunter

So where the first attempt was super frustrating with a clumsy Thork, the second was calm, efficient and with steely determination



Almost done with my list I was camping for Solix. That's kinda easy since he spawns inside a cave in Firelands that's not very well travelled. But to make sure I would not go bonkers, I did Battlegrounds in between.

So here it happened. I came out of a successful BG where we had a miraculous turn around after an awful start. My heart skipped a beat when my enormous spider lay await lurking in the lava. Quickly checked my bars, to see what I was going to do. I started the kite. The deal with this fellow is that you kite him through that cave, over narrow pathways, dodging lava, dropping ice traps and using concussive shot.

I was making good time, although he was JUST on my tail. I can tell you this is scary ! His energy dropped below 50, he lost his untamable buff and I popped Deterrence and started the tame. The Tame Beast bar seemed to crawl along at a snails pace and suddenly I was losing a lot of health. Surely Solix was biting my face...

But then I noticed...since I came out PVP tagged there was also a hordie hunter that was nuking me, trying to get the pet for himself. My health bar got tiny, the tame bar was shrinking and suddenly I saw the red health bar of the spider go green and I died.
Naturally I went back to mock the Orc Hunter who /spat on me several times

Now I am officially DONE
(until Blizz releases MORE awesome tame challenges that is !)
