Kira is a true black cat... almost entirely black. And when I say almost entirely, I mean the only parts on him that aren't black are his eyes, a little white mole-type thing on his right lower eyelid, and generally 2 or 3 individual hairs on his body, at any given time, that are white. Not patches of white, just one single hair! (you'll see in the pics. Right now he has one on his bib/chest, and one tiny eyelash on his lower left eyelid) Everything else is solid black! His whiskers are black. His nose is black. His paw pads are black. (though they look bright and shiny in the pics due to flash) Even his claws look like they've been painted black! Yep... he's my little black panther. (minus the ferocity and courage *grin*)
He's a snuggler too! I mean seriously he loves to be picked up, held up to your shoulder like you hold an infant to burp them, and be wrapped up in your arms in a snug snuggle! And when I loosen my arms and lift my head up from his neck/back, if he's not done being snuggled yet, he'll buck enough to get his head over my shoulder then turn his head away from me and wrap the back of his neck around the side of my neck. (if that made sense. hard to explain. he snuggles my neck with his) He loves snuggling so much that he's even earned the achievement "Butt-snuggler Extraordinaire!". When I sit at my computer, I sit more toward the edge of the seat instead of scooting back in the seat. So there's room between the back of the chair and my bottom. Kira, when he's feeling needy... which is at least 12 times a day, will hop up into my computer chair and squish himself between my butt and the back of the chair, lay down, and rest there for a while. My little butt-snuggler.
My 21-year old son loves to introduce Kira to his friends when they come over. They all think Kira is the coolest, awesomest, most epic cat ever! The reason for this is cuz Kira is completely docile. You can flip him upside down and backwards and he'll just relax like butter. (does butter really relax? Hrm) You can hold him on his back and cradle him like an infant... and even hold him up, in that position, and lift him above your head toward the ceiling, and he'll still remain loose and calm... and purr his head off. You can pose him and make him do little dances... he's perfectly happy to have the attention. But no, we don't do this stuff with him all the time. But the level of trust is just incredible. He's a special kitty.
