Old Cliff Jumper..Where are you!

Hi guys, quick question, does anyone know if Old Cliff Jumper is out there still? and if he is, does anyone know if he has a different spawn point other than near Aerie peak? been camping at 20.51 for 4 days now with no sighting putting in about 6-8 hours per day on and off, when I get time gonna go for a 14 hour straight stretch but just seems he isn't there or spawns somewhere else.

He's still in the same spot. His respawn timer is typically 12 hours. So you need to stay there longer than 4 - 8 hours.

I 'ponged' him flying over The Hinterlands, so he's definitely out there. He wanders, so you might need to take some time and do sweeps with a /target macro or with NPCScan/Silverdragon running!

Yeah, he does wonder, especially amongst the rocks. So SilverDragon and NPCScan are very helpful. :3 He's definitely worth the find.

Someone posted on wowhead that this pet no longer is available with a screenshot of a conversation with a GM and I can believe it aswell, done a hell of alot of camping especially over last couple days myself with nothing.

I can't even testify that he did exist. I've probably put in about a month of camping on 3-4 different hunters/servers prior to the Sundering and never seen him. I still zoom around there when I fly through doing my archaeology just in case. I've tamed Araga 3 times and never even seen OCJ.

Archaeology is part of the problem here. OCJ's area is right near one of the archaeological digs (the dwarven one at the aerie), so anyone with Silverdragon is picking him up and whacking him for his greens.

As for talking with the GMs and having them say he's gone, I've had three separate GMs tell me that Olm The Wise was still in game, but believe you me: he ain't. Unfortunately when it comes to knowing about rarespawns, GMs are as in the dark as we are.

Just curious, I have a lowbie hunter that needs him since my main's is full. What level is he now? I highly doubt they would keep him 42 when the area has been reduced level wise.

Been looking for Old cliff jumper for 3 years now.....ussually just in passing. But the lack of tamning this pet has frustrated me so ive been on a 6 strait day kick, not leaving the spawning area and with npc scan on. Absolutely nothing, as with most hunters that care about the rarity of their pets this is the last i need to tame to fill my stable with rares. Im not sure if the shattering has anything to do with the rarity or spawn timer, i would sugest not listening to anyone who says any certain spawn timer, as im the last 6 days according to most people id have spotted him spawn 12 times by now.

anyway keep trucking, also if your horde like me your at an extreme disadvantage as to blizard puting this pet a lil too close to Allied encampement and questing area, same as spectral bear and the Kitty in Darkshore.

I tamed him the first day after the Shattering. That day, I told my gaming partner, I want to go gather up all the pets I want before Cata. It was an amazing day. I had had OCJ a couple of years ago for a day or so, but did not like that wolf model and let him go. Then, after the Shattering, I start reading and realize he is the ONLY wolf with that skin. And of course then want him back.

That eventful day, with the server rocking with people, I flew out there, nothing, left and went to get the white gorilla, who was up the second time I popped in the cave, got back up there, and on my first circle, SilverDragon goes off, I drop and tame. I also got the white lion (thanks to my friend who had not done the quest0, Mazz (who I left go after I realized there ARE TONS of pink tallstriders now), the Clutch Mother (same let her go). But OCJ, I have had twice, once on a completely full server, and now on my new server.

And the second tame was AFTER the Shattering on a very wild tame day. And now? He will never leave my stable.

Best of luck in finding him. I am going to fly out there later today and see if I can spot him on my server again.

I'm gonna have to give it a look as well. I tamed OCJ during the elemental invasion, and I'm never getting rid of him. <3 He caused me such a headache back then. x) I would really like to hear a confirmation from Bliz, if the wolf is still in the game or not, since GM's keep saying different things. I have not seen him in this patch yet though, but I'll give it another look.

I've taken up the hunt as well.

Been camping for about 5 hours now today, so far. Have not seen him yet. Will let you know if I do see him though!

I spent almost two hours in the Hinterlands last night and didn't see hide nor fur of OCJ. Granted that's not a lot of time but I've also not heard of anyone taming him after all the recent patches. Same with Timber in Dun Morogh.

After reading all this in here regarding Old Cliff Jumper I decided to camp him all over again, had my alt on another account out there, made a pot of coffee and pulled a 32 hour shift. Had my hearth set to Hinterlands and did my normal stuff while waiting. I ended up pulled a 32 hour shift with nothing to show for it. After that I decided to send in a request to have him restored to me since it wasn't that long that I accidentally let mine go. I stated that I had heard he had been removed and my mistake and if he was still in game to just let me continue to camp for him like the bad hunter I am for abandoning him. I put in the ticket this about 5 hours ago and a gm got back to me saying they would restore my pet. I did not get a confirmation or denial regarding if he still spawns in the wild. But I did get him back and with a promise to NEVER mess up again. And after this, I will be damn sure I don't.

Anyway, I am done with the Hinterlands now unless I need to go for archeology. But I will still keep an eye out, just in case.
