Why so common, Gondria?

Unread post by Kikanu »

Several times today, and many MANY times in the past, I've seen Gondria. Tamed, killed, and announced all by me. I have 5 different Gondria-related items, two tamed Gondria, and I've helped 2 or 3 hunters get it. Even helped a hordie tame it by dropping a trap on it after it jumped over the poor guy's trap.

Why is Gondria so very common?

EDIT: Just found it again, but being killed by a hunter who had it tamed already (Oh the irony?)

Maybe because Gondria is TOTALLY AWESOME!

I think that overall more people are on the lookout for pets like Loque, Skoll, etc....though I know there are many who adore Gondria, it seems that the majority of players favor the other ones therefore they're more frequently watched and/or encountered.

Zul'Drak isn't too much of a high-traffic area like Sholazar is, and Gondria's spawnpoints are sort of out of the way....I think it just narrows down to less people looking for or stumbling into her, therefore she's spawned more often and is active for longer periods.

I've noticed this on my server as well. It amazes me just how often she is there. I do an herb run through that area all the time and I can honestly say that its very odd when I don't see Gondria up since she is Always there. xD

Also I would have to agree with Vephriel on the hunts for the other beasts.

I've been looking for Gondria on/off for about 5 days.

Not a single sign.

So I think it's less about Gondria being common and more about how the people feel about her on your server.

Edit: Wait nvm I just found her o-o

YOU MADE HER SPAWN. PRAISE P DAWG.

I have a feeling it's a Petopian guild in-joke, but who is P. Dawg? @_@

Also, like the others have said, Gondria's not in a high-traffic zone and has more spawn points than Skoll and Arcturis (and isn't an achievement, like Loque), so that's probably why we see her more often.

I don't have her yet, but I intend to get her (ok ok, so you were all right when you said they grow on you :D ). Arcturis is pretty cool but I'm still not fond of bears, though I do like that he's more of the druid model with the big mane. But Gondria is already the cat model I like (the bigger one), so that's why I'm going to get her. I think she's the prettiest of the bunch. :P

I think it's a matter of whether or not you're looking for her. I spent a whole week with no sign of her (except for tamed versions) and I spent a LOT of time in Zul'Drak. I'm not a betting girl, but I bet if you were DYING to tame Gondria, she'd be more elusive.

She's the only SB I've seen untamed. Haven't even seen Krush in Sholazar. But I live on a fairly active server.

I have STD-Cat on three Hunters.
I just think it's the mostest awesomest pet evur!

no, really, I just think it's so cool-looking.

I also really like that it basically has a ranged attack, which makes marking mobs easy.

Now, if they made a Wolf pet that looked like Gondria... for example, make the ghost wolves in Shadowfang Keep tamable... I would think I had died and gone to heaven.

A bit of palindromic wisdom:
"Step on no pets!"
Casual player.. don't raid, don't PvP. Suffer from extreme altitis
I love pets - combat or non.

Yeah I've seen more people running around with gondria than a strider.. about 50 gondrias to 2 strider people. I don't know if I'm a big fan of transparent spirit beasts or not yet... they're pretty but I kind of like something more cuddly.

does anyone have any insight why blizz gave her a name so much like gonorrhea?
