In a word, yes--it can be restored. But it depends on the GM you get--some will claim it isn't possible, while others do it without issue.
If you don't recall abandoning it, though, try shuffling pets around in your stable first. Sometimes they simply go missing--their icons disappear until you move the pets around a bit.

Re: Can a pet be restored ?
i would try that or switching pets out and see if he appears if not then make a ticket, if u have a abandon macro on ur action bar take it off xD, also like achrontia said, some gms will say yes others will say no. If you get a gm who says they cant simply make another ticket. i have had pets restored to me, never wth an issues. Some have but they simply make another ticket till they get a gm who will.Acherontia wrote:In a word, yes--it can be restored. Re: Can a pet be restored ?
Let me tell you what happened to me. During the first day Cata was out, I was just starting the quest line in Kelp'Thar Forest where you rescue drowning soldiers. Since it was the first day, everyone was there trying to rescue drowning soldiers as well. So, I decided to make a macro that would /target the drowning soldiers so I could have a better chance of getting them before someone else could. Only, the macro I dragged out wasn't my /target one, it was the one we were using to tame pets with special appearance buffs. Well, I had Loque out, and the long story short, it abandoned him without even asking me to confirm it.
Of course, this freaked me out like you wouldn't believe, so I put a ticket in and basically said "I accidentally and stupidly abandoned my pet using this script, it didn't ask me about confirming it, could you please restore him?" I also told him it was the Loque model and that his name was Pride (figured it might make it easier to track in the logs). 4 days later, the GM wrote back while I was offline and said "Sorry about what happened to you, I've gone and restored your Pride."
Anyways, the GM was nice enough to restore my pet even though it was an act of stupidity, and even had fun with it. On the plus side, while I was waiting for a response, I would circle Sholazar Basin hoping to get lucky just in case they didn't restore him. But, instead of finding Loque again, I managed to find King Krush and tame him. Never made it a point to go after him, so it was another one of those "tames of opportunity". It's a rare day you get a bonus from your mistake.

Re: Can a pet be restored ?
When I read about this abandon pet macro tame I thought "it's only a matter of time before someone will go abandon their favorite pet" :/
Sorry that happened to you, write a ticket and asked for it restored. My personal experience with these things are:
All GM will restore any pet that is still available.
US GM will restore pets that are no longer tameable while EU GM's will not.
(Note: my personal experience only, should not be take as a fact)

Re: Can a pet be restored ?
At the moment, I'm trying to get my Olm The Wise restored. I regretted giving him up, and now that I've trimmed a little stable space, I really want him back.
First attempt, however, they said that not only is the mob gone, but apparently the actual ID is. They were unable to find 'Olm-the-Pet' to be *able* to return him.
So it's possible this is part of why you couldn't get the Grimtotem back.
I'm trying another ticket, to see if I have more luck (or at least a different answer, which would give me hope!) the second time.

Re: Can a pet be restored ?
They haven't removed the ID. If they had, all Olms would be missing, same for the spritit wolves. I believe we would have heard if that had happened. ^^
Just try again and send another ticket. Some GMs will restore, some GMs won't, and apparently some will even lie.

Re: Can a pet be restored ?
Yeah. I thought it was the 'don't know how'. Or prehaps misundrestanding (i.e. he thought I was asking if I can catch him again).
Anyhow, a second ticket did the trick. Woke up from my nap with a new level 77 white owl in my lineup, and when I checked Olm in Silverdragon's list, he was listed as 'cached'. So it's the real deal.
Oh my pretty white baby. *mwah mwah* What did Daddy do to you? I'll never do that again!
So the moral of the story is that yep. Sometimes EU GMs *do* return unavailable pets, and that yep, sometimes if you *are* denied the first time asking again can do the trick.
