Thoughts From a Camping Hunter...

Last night I started camping our friendly neighborhood magma turtle in the wee hours of the morning and, while endlessly repeating the phrase "...aaand now he spawns..", I started talking to a friend and guildie who has seen me on more than one camp marathon. We got to talking about the always much debated topic of player housing in game, but this time from a hunter perspective which I had never thought of before.

Alot of people would like to have some sort of housing for their toons, but as a side note, and this here gets to the meat of the post, if we did have access to something of the sort, do you think Hunters everywhere would enjoy having a part of their property being devoted to a barn or a field or....any place where they could in one confined area see all of their pets out at once? Not just the five you carry but all of them, either in individual stalls or however... Maybe that's just the collector in me talking and wishful thinking at it's farthest, but if I had a choice between something of that sort and a rack for old ranged weapons I no longer use....sell the house and buy the barn so to speak. Right?

Blizzard has stated a few times, that they've got no plans to make player housing happen. But. I'd personally love it.
I really like the idea of having all of your pets out in a stable of your own. And I'd like to have some kind of proper mannekin to put my old gear sets on. Also, some sort of lab or an anvil and forge for those who've got crafting professions.
..And I wouldn't mind some sort of cage for my minipet companions either.

I really wish Blizzard would reconsider the player housing feature.

And where's my dance studio.

Honestly, you're most certainly not the first person who has ever mentioned a dance studio. was that some urban myth or something they took out of the original game?

I remember someone datamining something that clearly seemed to have something to do with the studio not long after the cata beta went live. Loads of files that mixed different dances from different races (bit like the hair styles >.< ).
I wonder if that troll bug might've had something to do with the fact that it didn't go live. XD

We did have player housing for some time waay, WAAY back, in original alpha.

Didn't work out well, so they removed it and said "Never again".

And the dance studio was an aprils fools joke, wasn't it? I seem to recall so. They claimed to be bringing in some kind of dance-battles, similar to arenas.

Well to build on that thought, it would be easier to implement a 'instanced house area' so Azeroth is not getting stuffed with buildings everywhere.

Just like a dungeon you can get your private space of your choosing. You get a square (300 by 300 feet) of land from any region you like. For instance I choose a piece of land from Grizzly Hills. I get to place my house where I like and build a barn for the pets. You can invite friends over.

It's like Battle for Hyjal or Escape from Durnholde only smaller.

It was not April fools as far as I'm aware. Remember the wrath trailer? They had "new dances" in big letters (so, yeah, not necessarily a dance studio, but new dances at least) and I've read several blue posts stating that they want to implement the dances some time in the future, but they put other content before it. I think it's a good idea gone to waste. :<
But before that, I'd like to see bat form for my druid become real.

And instanced housing was what I had in mind. I've got no idea how it works in other MMO's though, but would be fun to learn more.

They actually had instanced housing before removing it, if I remember correctly. That's what the gated and locked up portal in the middle of the SW canals is.
