I got my second Madexx after leaving the Fire From the Sky daily. He spawned right behind me. Now I have a blue and red.

I've seen two blues and one red, with the first one being blue which was killed while trying to tame.

He's out there, good luck guys and gals.

Here is a thought...

Could Madexx be a spawn of another rare that should be killed prior to Madexx himself spawning?

I have ben here for 30 + hours and I have not seen even a corpse or nothing.

This is beginning to feel like the time lost proto drake. Maybe his name is even a hint at how mad you must be to tame him.

In any case, here is a questions I am tossing at you all.

How large is the NPC_Scan detection range. If I stand in the dead center of the spwan zone will NPC_Scan detect a spawn on the edge of the zone?

If NPC detects quite fare, then there really has not been any spawns this week which is really odd.

If not, then we need to figure out most relevant spawn point to camp.

Here is where I am camping him

madexx isnt tied directly to any rare, but there is that theory that there are only 3-5 rares up at any given time. Longer times between spawns could mean that certain rares, maybe perhaps in Vashijir or somewhere more obscure are staying up for longer periods of time.

And I'm not so sure that location would pick up some of his spawns that are a bit further away. I mean, I can't say for sure one way or the other, but it is possible. That, and I would venture to guess that you haven't been there for thirty solid hours. Even if you're only getting two hours of sleep each night, there's always that chance that he's spawning any time you're going afk to grab a drink, go to the restroom, etc. He could be killed and skinned in the time it takes you to make a PB&J and you'd never know it.

Heck, I logged on yesterday and went afk for a while, and got disconnected. Came back and found out Sambas was now cached. Doesn't take long at all right now when everyone is looking for a rare to tame. :)

Good luck!!!

download the npc overlay add on, not only does it make it easy to find spawns points and paths that rares take but also gives a little yellow range circle around ur arrow on the mini map

Make sure you have all 5 npc ids in the npc scan.. Im sure you probably do, I actually forgot one when I started looking and had to add it. It can be very long wait see my post above.

My tame had spawned at 7am.

Good Luck,, I'm sure you will get it!!!

I haven't seen any other Madexx on alliance other than the red one I have. I also didn't see anyone else camping him while I was - it took me several days to get mine. I want a blue as well but have decided that one Madexx per hunter is ok so either my worgen or human will get blue. They'll get one each because he's just so damn cute.

When mine spawned, I proceeded to pull an all nighter... ok, I took my laptop to bed with me and dozed in between doing laps... but he didn't respawn at the 6, 12 or 24 hour marks. In fact, I didn't see him again at all and a couple of days after I got my red I decided that one per hunter was enough.

Meh, I'm getting so bummed with this one... about ready to just give up. It's been over a week and a half and the only two Madexxes I've seen were dead. :( Where are you people finding yours, if I may ask?

Here is how the Madexx spawn works...

He spawns. If you are not right there when he spawns you won't see him or his corpse.

He isn't phased, but if a hunter from another phase hits him first he will phase out of the other phases and completely into the phase he is getting attacked from.

Also, if you are flying around in circles trying to camp him... realize that one good loop around his well known spawn points takes close to 1min-2min, and in that time he can spawn, be tamed or killed... and if he is killed he will more than likely get skinned pretty quick because skinners go there to skin the other scorpions all the time.

He exists, but he spawns smack dab in the middle of a quest area AND an archeological site so getting him will take time and patience.

My patience is wearing very thin.

I need more hunters, IMO.

Yeah... I've been sitting at his 'busiest' spawn point, at least I assume it's a possible spawn point -- middle-ish, on the ridge near the skeleton and some broken ledges. Starting to ponder moving to another spot but I'd like confirmation of what his spawn spots are from people who've seen it firsthand. Anyone here have locales? :) Sigh, silly scorpid.

Cool. And you actually saw him spawn there? If so, that's where I'm moving too. If nothing else a change of scenery will be nice ^_^;

Based on the Wowhead location pins for each color, that's the route I took while camping.

My friend's black one spawned at the northern point, my red one spawned 11 hours later at the point in the middle of the top horizontal line.

Cool, thanks both of you. I'm going to sit at the Northernmost point for now, as it's the least busy and I really don't want to see him get killed in front of me again, heh!

My brown one also spawned at that northern point. :)

And fret not, it took me about two weeks to get mine and that's only because he spawned right in front of me as I was flying past that spawn point. I was shaky, nervous, and felt like I was gonna pass out (okay, I'm exaggerating...a little), but somehow managed to make myself go through each action: Arcane Shot, Freezing Trap, Tame Beast. Yeesh.

My Madexx wasn't inside the box on that picture. He was furthur up on the right side, opposite the tomb. Not that far from the cliffs. Don't know if he spawned there or pathed there. And I wasn't there when he spawned, he was moving along towards the cliffs when I flew around to check that side. So I suppose he could have spawned at that point in the box and pathed out of it.

Wowhead has spawn points that I'll use when hunting. Madexx has 5 diff colors and each with their own locations. The best part is that are all pretty close together so its easy to make a quick loop. I always started at the NE most spawn point cause it seems common to all, however, I got my red one at 51 20 on my way up to the northern point after porting over.
