So really. Just drop focus on abilities, take a look at...looks. Essentially, do as Rhyela suggested.

Personally? Devilsaur or chimera. Devilsaurs cause I love my Krush, and chimera cause almost no one loves them. xD I'll vote chimera though.
Agreed.Azunara wrote:I think it's time we just stop factoring abilities. It's supposed to be a fun thread. A "If I could have any pet for looks in another spec, it would be..."

If you were looking at this from a solely non-BM standpoint (and a rather narcissistic one at that), then the obvious choice would be core hounds. However, it definitely should be considered that BM hunters get exclusive pets for a reason, and said exclusive pets have unique abilities as well for that same reason. Hence, precluding the question with a 'what if' hypothetical where the loss of the exotic ability were somehow compensated for (maybe basilisks, hydras, or what-have-you become tamable exotics and are given the exotic ability that the newly non-exotic pet had previously possessed) is anything but childish.malikith wrote:Its not an argument. We are all hunters after all. Arguing about "what if" is juvenile. The post is what pet would you like to see available to non BM hunters. NOT whether or not you would feel slighted as a BM if non BM hunters got an added pet.
Cute doesn't need an explanation.

Is that a worm in your stable or are you just happy to see Veph?..Akycha wrote:Worm, because if I ever wasn't BM I would miss Thor the most. He's one of my two pets I always have with me. *hugs big golden worm*

I've wanted a worm as soon as I'd heard they were being made available to hunters, but being that I don't play BM, I can't have one. As has also been said, they also seem to be the odd pet out with regards to "exotic-ness". They're rather plain, and comparable in body and diet to a number of other, non-exotic, Azerothian creatures. From a logical standpoint, Outland creatures would probably require a lot more special care and knowledge than would worms.

Either give the pet family a special ability of any sort, or just 'demote' the pet family from exotic status and call Embrace of the Shale Spider a Special Ability. Either option would be a significant improvement over the current situation.

They're only slightly better than a pair of bongo drums, so I don't see an issue with making shale spiders non-exotic in terms of balance. Granted, I also would love to have an exotic tenacity pet with both the special and exotic ability being useful in some way for pet tanking (unless you consider standing over a wormquake with Deterrence up and an Explosive Trap at your feet to be a particularly useful method of AoE tanking).Davarra wrote:^^Cialbi wrote:The frustrated BM inside of me is screaming "SHALE SPIDER!" right now. I really love the little guys, it'd be great to be able to have a squee spider out while in surv....is it really that much different than the wolf ability, balancewise?

And when I'm BM I miss Explosive Shot/Black Arrow, or Steady Shot proccing instant Aimed shots.Cozzene wrote:Yeah... I wasn't interested in talking about them losing abilities or gaining abilities, it was more of a "when I'm not BM, I miss ___ pet the most, sometimes I am sad it is not BM only". Not supposed to be a "BM is better rawr" vs "nuh uh BM are dumb lawl" war -_-
