Rak'shiri
I know this isnt some uber epic tame but I just tamed Rak'shiri on Moon Guard at about 1:52pm server time. To me it's uber epic cause I've NEVER seen Rak'shiri in the wild. Not once. So around 6am this morning, I decided I wanted him cause he now has a skin I've always desired. So from 6:00am til 1:52 is how long I've camped him. Almost 8 hours.
EDIT: Also, Mania should fix Rak'shiri's level. He was level 53, not 57.

Re: Rak'shiri
Yeah. I kinda did it cause it was one I've never once seen as far as old rares go and also his model is one I've wanted for ages and I'm glad they finally made one tameable, even though I know some arent happy he got changed.

Re: Rak'shiri
Me and Ryai reported her respawn time dropped to 3/4-8 hours last week btw
It's ridiclous really. Gratz on the tame.

My main's a Druid so I of course love critters. That counts for something right? Right?

Re: Rak'shiri
Grats on the beauty! I got around 55 on my second hunter in Winterspring on purpose, then while doing the chain around the tigers BAM Rak'shiri was there between them. My heart almost gave up, I NEVER managed to get him on my first hunter. Got him, then got Sian, then HSed happier than ever.
Once again, grats, on your tame, it's still worth it.

Thanks! And wow! Rak'shiri seems to be very elusive. :3
Re: Rak'shiri
Rak....
*looks sadly at the now black-striped cat.*
I had Rak'shiri when he was a 57 teal tiger. I remember spending a few hours hunting for Moonlight and picked him up. At this point, there were three stable slots. A permanent spot was taken by my panther, Midnight, and I decided I needed a black owl. Unfortunately, I had two slots, so I had to choose: Midnight or Moonlight. Finally, I decided to get rid of my Rak and tamed my owl. A few minutes later and it hits me.
This cat, for a brief few seconds, was the one to step through Outlands with me. I loved that cat. We clicked. I kiss my owl good-bye and return to my hunt in Winterspring. It takes longer, but I make a hunter friend who whispers me, saying Rak is up!
Pounding, I run to find my Moonlight and tame. Moonie and I leveled through Outlands and Northrend, and Cataclysm caused my poor kitty to age to the dark hue.

But. Grats!

Re: Rak'shiri
I adore that cat. I love both colors, teal and white - though none of my hunters ever really had the teal one. By that level I always had a pet I loved. For my troll, however, the change of skin let him tame the older, more mature cat he used to have. (King B)
Huge grats on your gorgeous cat!
He's a lot rarer than people give him credit.

Azu: Aw. I can understand the sentimental value. If they changed Takk, I'd be in despair cause he means the world to Taluwen. He leveled with her just like Moonlight leveled with you, though Talu had him at lvl 30 or so.
Lupis: Definitely so. He reminds me a lot of Loque'nahak.

Re: Rak'shiri
congrats! yesterday and today i found him 5 times, killed 3 times overall. Found n killed once due to no hunters in winterspring or felwood. Found a hunter who wanted him and she tamed. Tried to call a hunter in the area but he was killed by a rogue. The final time i sat down with him for about close to an hour because no hunters wanted and i wanted him to be tamed since i had fallen in love with him after seeing him so often (i was almost exalted with wintersaber trainers during my last encounter) but noooooo one wanted so i finished the quests, no one wanted STILL so i killed him and moved on

Re: Rak'shiri
Xa - Shame. I'd never kill him. I'd leave him alone personally.
Moore - I've never seen him up until my camp. So I figured to hunt down the elusive feline.

I've been lookin' all over the place for that addon your using to mask your default UI! Whats it called?
Re: Rak'shiri
The only thing that makes an epic tame epic is the smile on the hunter's face ;D
Bravo on your tame, hope you enjoy him!

I wanted a new pet-I had one that I was just not bonding with. Went and searched a bit for Rak last night with no luck.

Re: Rak'shiri
I use multiple things but the main backbone UI I use is SpartanUI. :3 I can make a list of addons that kinda go with it if you mean the frames. the frames are somethin separate.Thaggius wrote:I've been lookin' all over the place for that addon your using to mask your default UI! Whats it called?

Re: Rak'shiri
Grats! Even after the skin change Rak'shiti is still a very nice cat. It still is one of the more prestigious old world rares imo.Taluwen wrote:I know this isnt some uber epic tame but I just tamed Rak'shiri on Moon Guard at about 1:52pm server time. EDIT: Also, Mania should fix Rak'shiri's level. He was level 53, not 57.
I have a small problem though with regards to mine. My stables are full and I have a rule that I don't keep more than one type of pet from a certain family (excluding the 6 Spiritbeasts of course...these almost need their own damn stable). Now that I have recently tamed Sambas this has made Rak'shiri soon to be homeless. I'm having a lot of trouble letting go, in fact I can't do it atm but I know something has to go eventually.
Yikes Xakaal, just because no one was around doesn't mean you have to kill it!Xakaal wrote:congrats! yesterday and today i found him 5 times, killed 3 times overall. I always leave tamable rares alone if I don't need them. There is a high probability that a non hunter will kill them anyway but if it helps a fellow hunter finally get that tame they wanted then its worthwhile.
Only rare I was forced to kill was Jadefang for the pet... twice (once for my sister too, nice one Blizz

Re: Rak'shiri
I get the feeling that you're asking us to persuade you to keep Rak'shiri so as to resolve your dilemma. Well, I have a question, and I want you to answer it for yourself (I don't particularly need to know the answer; I'm derailing this thread enough as it is). If you were to abandon Rak'shiri, who would you be putting into the vacated stable slot? For that matter, do you even have a purpose for abandoning the cat apart from staying true to your rule?Blackthorne wrote:I have a small problem though with regards to mine.
