Leveling your pets?

I'm always curious if I'm the only one who feels that I HAVE to level all my pets to 85, whether I use them or not. I usually level them through instances or on dailies. It's just... a pet peeve of mine if they're not all my level. XD

And if anyone of you answer that last one... I'll steal all your bacon and fries.

I'm working on it, but not in any huge hurry. I got one of each, tenacity, ferocity and cunning to 85 and now I'm just running with whoever isn't 85 that I feel like now. I haven't been doing much questing, mostly herbing and skinning, which is perfect for leveling pets anyway.

I used to have that same sort of obsession with keeping all of my pets topped off to max level, but in Cataclysm I found I haven't done that quite yet. Only the pets I've been using often are reaching 85. My usual method of levelling is running heroics, but at this point in time with the Cataclysm dungeons being tougher than WotLK, I don't like using a sub-par pet when we usually need all the dps or utility we can get. When most people reach a gear level that the current heroics can be run more easily then I'm sure I'll be back to topping off all of my pet's levels.

I voted 'only the ones I use', but now that I think about it, that's not true. I'm leveling those first, yeah, but I do intend to level all of my pets to 85 and I always have. I'm just slow about it because I'm currently leveling them by killing things in Twilight Highlands and it's a big pain. X)

Eventually all my pets will get leveled, usually I cycle through a few pets while I am doing randoms, or questing, just to try them out and get a feel for them, and to get them leveled. I do keem some max leveled pets with me *Hugs Nanaka* incase someone objects to the none lv 85 pet.

Out of my 25 pets I only have 4 sub 85 atm... soon to be rectified.

Hehe yep, I always try to keep my pets at the same level. ^_^ On the 80-85 grind, while I used a few of them during the process, only my main pet was the one who was consistently my level, but since then I've got pretty much everyone at 85 now apart from Aotona and a core hound that I never use but keep there cause my boyfriend likes him and is too lazy to level his own hunter.

It's a bit more difficult to keep all my pets up to my level when I'm levelling so usually I'll stick with perhaps 2/3 or so and rotate the others out as I feel like using them.

But, eh, I'd -like- for all my pets to be level 85 but I have such a hard time deciding which one to level next D: It's been pretty random. First to hit 85 was my Bronze Madexx, and only because I loved using him in PvP. My turtle followed soon after, simply because he's pretty ( Terrorpene! ) and because he makes a great soloing pet. After that, I was having a lot of trouble deciding, and eventually said I should level my original 5 pets to 85. I ended up levelling my freshly tamed cat ( a reskin of my cat from the 'five' ) in a single normal Grim Batol run. Then I tamed Ghost, and he was automatically 85. Completely forgetting my original 5 idea, I was running around with my bear ( to get a feel for his personality ), and donig some world PvP with my guild, and after my bear sucessfully tanked a guard with 1 mil HP, and only me and our shadowpriest tossing heals, all while my guild wailed on the guard, at level 83.... of course I had to level him He's my guild's new favorite pet, lol.

A few other pets have made it to 83, and one 84, but I tend to forget I'm levelling them and I end up sticking them back in the stables. I'm sure they'll all hit 85... eventually.

Granted none of mine are in even TBC areas yet (Ahem) but I'm wierd. Just like with Pokemon I rota them so nobody gets left behind/stable legs. USUALLY I can get one pet for certain, occasionally two pets to catch up to my level during my two ding bursts. Included in my rota of course is random pets I pick up I want to try out that are unnamed until I decide if they're gonna hang around or not.

Granted I had to mix up Mitsuko's stables a bit, I managed to hit 3 of my Worgs in a row on the rota which while colourful was a bit samey lol

I like them to all be max level. I prioritise them though in regards to which ones I use most for specific buffs (and general favoritism), then just the skins I like and other buffs that may be required later on.

I don't mind leveling them, I'm a skinner/leather worker on my main huntress (Mearra), so I just take them out when I go to farm leather, or take them out on trash in instances then swap to max level pet on bosses.

All my pets *are* my level. And with 23 pets, that was an interesting grind. Granted, three of them were caught at level 85, which sped that up a bit, but everyone else had to go up the 'hard way'. My guild heard a lot of 'Mind if I bring a low-level pet for this instance?' throughout it all. Heck, even just recently, getting Olm returned to me. He got to come to a heroic to ninja trash-XP.

I just dinged 85 a few days ago, but one of the first things I did was level up the pets I carry with me (I haven't instanced much, I just ran around in circles in Twilight Highlands killing ogres). My cat, wolf, hyena and wind serpent are now all 85. My warpstalker is 84, but she'll get xp as I continue to quest. I'm sure I'll eventually level the others.

They don't have to be at my level but I try to keep them all within one or two.

Given that I will find reasons to mass murderate lots of XP-yielding mobs, it seems easy to me to swap my pets around until they're all 85.

There miiiiight be a touch of obsessive and/or compulsive "BUT THE EXPERIENCE BARS!!" to it as well.

I'm not level capped yet, but I have too many pets to level all of them xD;
I'd probably just level the ones I use/love the most.

As I level? The ones I use/like most. Now that novi's 85, I am slowly catching them all up.

As others have said, I will level them (when I'm 85 myself Pretty caught up by driving lessons and such at the moment) but it will be slow. Painfully slow. The Five will probably get there first, and my lvl 30-ish Humar will of course be the one to ding 85 first of them all, since he has sentimental value. Maybe I will level pets because of what they can bring to an instance, but that rearely happens anyways right now, so who knows..? Probably my Terror and one cunning early on though, just because it's good to have.

I level mine, slowly but surely. Mostly the important ones get leveled first, and then the others. To me there's no reason not to level your pets because.. well... 82-85 didn't even take me an hour to get farming in Twilight highlands XD

I still have a bunch of 77 pets from my original taming spree (maybe a sign I should just get rid of them? *shrug*).
