And not a happy one, though nowhere near as bad as some folks have experienced.
Yesterday, I left work early to go renew my drivers license and ended up getting home a little earlier than I normally do. I decided to log on and get my dailies out of the way. As is usually the case, the first thing I did after logging on in Orgrimmar was to fly on up to look for Terrorpene. As I flew in, NPCscan went off. He was up!
I targeted the turtle and swooped down to find a warlock beating on him. Now honestly, with Terrorpene at 60%, I'm not sure whether I could've gotten aggro for a tame anyway. Still, it kinda stung when, after asking the fella to stop and pointing out he drops greys and isn't part of an achievement, the response was "So?"
That's the only time I've seen Terrorpene out in the wild. Amazingly, there were no other hunters there camping him at the time, either. Just me and the 'lock.
Ah well. Maybe another time.
Guess it's my turn for a Terrorpene tale

As much as I detest myself for thinking this, and hate myself for actually saying this, but perhaps you should have offered the guy money. Told him he only drops a 25g grey, is worthless as he's not for any achieves and you'd gladly pay 225g if the guy would just let up and either eat a repair bill or run off and let Terrorpene reset.
But then this might just encourage his behavior so he'd try and kill Terrorpene again. /sigh.

I would have tried to kill him by like missdirecting a giant to him or something.

Ehh. What we don't know here is whether the lock was camping TP, questing, harvesting ore / fire pools or etc..
If he was camping then yeah he was being a dick.
Otherwise, he got there first fair and square and didn't do anything wrong, wasteful as it may seem to us hunters.
As Ryai said, you can offer cash, but then you create an incentive for people to stick around and grief hunters, so imo just keep checking the area and you'll get him sooner or later.

Heck, I'd pay a 1000g finders fee upon a successful tame. Eh. The sensible part of me knows that it's just a pet in a game that's really no better than any other turtle. But it still bugs me. Not only did I actually see him out there untamed, but at 4:45pm and with no other hunters in sight.Ryai wrote:As much as I detest myself for thinking this, and hate myself for actually saying this, but perhaps you should have offered the guy money. I don't know what his respawn would've been after dying. I was too tired from the day to stay up too late, so I didn't get back to check at 10:45. I actually did wake up at 4:15 this morning and logged in, half dozing while flying around. He hadn't spawned by 5am so I napped for an hour then got up for work.
