ehh... Sand Worms?

Unread post by Insectoid Phenomenon »

First off, let me start by stating that I'm new here. I found this website earlier completely on accident, which is suprising considering how lively this place is. So I'm getting back into the game after a while of life problems, made a new account and rolled an awesome goblin hunter. Now, my concern is that cataclysm is in full swing, and many types of pets from already tameable families are still untameable! Adding insult to injury is the fact that the new worm spell is burrow, and that certainly implies sand worm. I wanted to know if any informed hunters (such as Wain, who always seems to find things based on what I've read) has any information about the future of the worm family... :(

and HI PETOPIANS! Let's be fwends.

Hi there :).

Every crawling worm skin in the database should now exist in the game and be tameable. If you're referring to the red Outland style worms that pop out of the ground, it would be great if those (and lava worms and another darker one whose name eludes me) had tameable forms. But I don't have any knowledge of the likelihood of that. However, up to the release of 4.0.3 there's been NO mobile model versions for any of these hidden in the WoW database which may mean they've never existed and we're unlikely to see them. At least not any time soon. But who knows? Maybe the art dept. will feel enthused :)

I think perhaps he means the new snakes in southern Tanaris?? Like these guys? Just a guess, mind you.

Welcome to the community, IP :)

Yes I speak of the ground dwelling centipede-ish worms like Ouro and the hellfire crust bursters. Regardless, you've answered my question... and broken my heart...

In the cata alpha there were very strong implications that they would be tameable, alas I kind of figured there would be a complication considering that model is only half of the creatures actual body.

Hmm - having these 'earthworms' as tamable, mobile pets would be interesting, and possible with some creativity. Movement could be identical to what you see of the Outland centipedes when they are on the move; the idle animation would be the worm popping out of the ground. Not sure how movement while in combat would work, though.

On an unrelated thought, who here would tame one of these worms and name him or her Tremors?
