Lvl 10 is still way to early to have that ablity. You can cry about all you want as this keeps getting brought up and it always comes to the same conclusion. Vast majority don't think you should be able to have exotics at that lvl and blizzard wont change it.Albain wrote:There's a whole lot of worms and chimeras (edit: And silithids) before 50 actually. Just questing and being sloppy with surv I've noticed a 2k dps gain. Making Exotics at lvl 10 is NOT going to happen so quit dreaming. Vast majority of the hunters do NOT think this is a good idea. There isn't even exotics at lvl 10 anyway. You don't run into any until mid 50's after the white core hound really.
They're buffing BM by buffing Kill Command. For why this is bad, see the thread on the official forums.

Re: Time to face facts....
A current suggestion (in the other thread people need to love my thread over in warcraft.com's hunter section instead of here. ;-;) is adjusting Killing Spree so Kill Command is actually significantly more awesome for BM, turning it into a LnL-like proc thing. And if BM is able to fire off significantly more Kill Commands, then likewise will DPS escalate.pengupuff wrote:I get why buffing Kill Command isn't going to save BM, and I also get that making Kill Command exclusive to BM is also a bad idea. I wonder how it would work out if a talent on the BM tree was altered to allow for speccing into "Improved Kill Command" or something like that. It might help solve the KC issues.
It was the idea of - I assume he came up with it himself - an orc named Grimtooth. http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic ... ?page=1#14 here's his post.
Can I ask why? I'll reiterate in my post the removal of the 4 free talent points from the 'get exotics' part, (as that WOULD be overpowered) and all hunter pets don't get their unique special til 20 AFIAK, so why is 10 too early to get one? Actual serious question, I'm a little confused. What makes having a no-special-skills worm pet different from having a no-special-skills bear pet at 10?AdamSavage wrote: Lvl 10 is still way to early to have that ablity. I assume by 'you' you mean 'everyone who wants exotics at 10' given this is the first time I've weighed into this topic outside of guild chat.
Re: Time to face facts....
Pretty much what Alba said.
And Exotics before 50, from Petopia:
Chimaeras:
Mistwing Cliffdweller, 12-13
Mistwing Ravager, 17-19
The Razza, 40
Silithids:
...Pretty much any of the tank colors from 40-48.
Hive Controller, 42
Ainamiss the Hive Queen, 48
Hairakiss the Infestor, 47-48
Silithid Swarmer, 32... may be made tameable again. Maybe. Idk?
Corehounds
The Kurken, 12
Worms
Earthborer, 13-14
Deepborer, 37-38
Rockborer, 37-38
Rock Worm, 37-38
Flesh-Eating Worm, 25
Cadaverous Worm, 40
Murk Worm, 47-48
Oozeworm, 38
So actually you'd get your pick of families. If they added a spirit beast at a low level and made the Kurken untameable (because really, TimelustOism starting at level 20 is a little absurd), you'd have your choices of Ferocity, Cunning, or Tenacity exotics.

Re: Time to face facts....
Additionally, good luck on the thread, I have to afk for a heroic and then chasing down Razza and Evalcharr before they change colors and people on Wyrmrest realize how awesome they're about to look.
And because while there are some comments that are good here, it's sliding from the OP now of 'bad BM DPS', /and/ does no good at getting Blizzard's attention on Petopia's forums.
I encourage people to post on the official hunter forum instead of here, re: this entire topic, be it for or against. That way it's somewhere Blizzard might actually read it, whether the reader approves of the idea of adjusting Kill Command or doesn't. I also encourage leaving a 'why', if you disagree, as this can and does encourage discussion and figuring out what could and couldn't work.
Just. On THAT thread. Because I do want some blue or other to eventually notice it and consider finding a new way to alter BM's DPS for the better.

Re: Time to face facts....
Well Larkspur, you are right, there are several exotics at low levels...
However...
How often do you see those even used besides in pvp? Heck, on my server, I never see them. The Kurken is a rarity too. I see the orange lvl 60ish one and Chromaggus more than the Kurken.
Point is, those pets you listed are liked by a minority. Many usually don't care for bugs or big in-the-way chimaeras. the most popular chimaera can't even be gotten til lvl 70, which is the outland purple one in Netherstorm.

Because we had a huge and heated dicussion of this before and in the end majority of people said 69 is to late but lvl 50 would be a nice lvl. You don't need exotics as soon as you get talents. I'm not gonna get into to so /ignore.Albain wrote:I assume by 'you' you mean 'everyone who wants exotics at 10' given this is the first time I've weighed into this topic outside of guild chat.

Tbh I see Nuramoc or Numaroc or whatever about the same as I see other Chimeras. He seems very FotM for pvp pets.Taluwen wrote:Point is, those pets you listed are liked by a minority. Perhaps taming Exotics could be a lv 45-55 ability, atleast it'd be a damn sight better than waiting till lv 69 again bleh.
Actually that sounds like an idea, if they tied Exotic taming to TBW, that's deep enough in the tree still for SV and MM to not have access. They could then buff our 69 talent, like say 'Go for the Throat' which I've been after, a real go for the throat. Basically akin to Chimera/Explosive/Black Arrow shots. You basically have the pet attack the target, doing a fair bit of damage and, aaaand.
The pet causes additional DoT damage with a bleed. And since it'd be a spell you would be able to use it for all pets. Meaning there'd still be no 'use wolf or cat, stupid' BS cropping up again.
It could perhaps have a 4 second CD, and the bleed lasts for 3 seconds, and each second the bleed deals XX damage. Or perhaps the bleed lasts for 4 seconds, dealing damage every second/every 2 seconds. Perhaps cost 30/35 focus?

I do like that, Ryai. I can agree that 69 is way too high and a total drag. I wish they'd put it back to the 50s somewhere. That I could definitely go for.Ryai wrote:Tbh I see Nuramoc or Numaroc or whatever about the same as I see other Chimeras. @Taluwen:
My point was that there are a number of exotics across families below level fifty, thus making the ability to train them more than just a curiosity. Whether or not people like the looks of the pets, the fact that they're the only pets available mean they'd be used if BM hunters had access to exotics earlier.
Anyway, off to heroic with Albain. I'll second his notion to go talk about adjustments to the talent tree here where blues can see it.
@AdamSavage:
Oh, so you're assuming that two people who never participated in that discussion or even saw it are bringing it back up because we're trolls, and that's why you and Taluwen started off this conversation by being unnecessarily hostile? Rather than the much more logical assumption that neither Albain nor I ever read the topic at hand, and these are just common ideas that tend to go through a lot of people's minds when it comes to talking about hunters?
...Wow. That's...fantastic of the both of you.
Right. /ignore in return, then.
