Getting an old pet restored?

Unread post by Shade »

I abandoned my OCJ a while ago with plans to retame him once I figured out my stable all the way.

Now I am hearing that he is not in game anymore-I'm looking to submit a ticket to see if I can get him restored. Is there anything specific I have to do, or just open a normal ticket?

Just open a normal ticket. I had my Loque restored that way.

Depends on how long the pet has been gone from your stables. But just submit a normal ticket and they should have him restored to you. :)

If you get a no, try again. I was trying to get my hive queen back and it took 2 tickets to get her.

Alright, thanks guys.

I've actually tamed him twice. I've been in game for a year now, I can't remember the time that I last abandoned him-but I do know it was pre-Cata. Well... we'll see what happens.

I just got an Olm restored that I abandoned in TBC in favour of getting the NE druid flight form bird from BEM. Just keep ticketing until you win. Make sure you're specific about what mob it was and roughly how long ago you abandoned.

Congrats on getting your Olm restored!

I'm kicking myself, love the new look of that birdie, but never got him when he was around, as I didn't like the white owl really.

Yeah, logged on this morning and noticed that my Terrorpene's icon had moved over to where my second pet should be (Only keeping him out of the stables atm during my camp for blue Madexx) and lo behold, there was one pretty white owl in the first slot.

Was all "now, I know I didn't leave Pyra there... oh wtf, Myst? WHOO!"

But yeah, if I could get a pet restored from... several years ago... I'm sure you can get your OCJ back.

It probably is. Although don't get *too* immediately hopeful. Both mine were 'escalated' (it seems 'higher ups' need to handle the giving-back of sutff for me) but the first one is the one who couldn't get what I was asking. :D Still, be persistent!

It means a "higher up" GM is going to look at your ticket. :)

I had Olm the Wise tamed on my hunter something like 4 years ago... probably back before they ever had records of that sort of thing. Now that I see he's getting a model change, what do you suppose my chances are of a restoration? Even supposing they actually still have that info and can retrieve it, what are the rules on pet restorations anyway? I'm pretty sure I abandoned Olm pretty shortly after BC hit, but I can't remember for certain. I do remember that his name was Virgil, though! It went along with my historic authors pet scheme: Ovid (The Rake), Virgil (Olm), Dante (Deathmaw) and I was planning on taming a turtle named Homer but I never did.

It's just been so long! Plus, my account was hacked twice between then and now during which time my hunter was transferred to a different server twice and a different account once. Anyway, I put in a ticket, so here's hoping!

So, I had Olm tamed on my ally hunter a year or so ago, but didn't have him anymore. I put in a ticket just to see if I could get him back, and a GM very kindly restored him for me. The unfortunate thing is that he is still the same white owl I had before- but I know it's him because he even had the same name. So I don't know how the ghostly green comes about but that's my experience with getting Olm restored as of today.

The new skin won't be available on Olm until the next patch goes live.

I wonder if the GM's will notice that a number of hunters are suddenly asking for their Olms back?

:O SUCCESS! I am so amazed at the GMs right now... I was positive that they were going to tell me the pet was abandoned too long ago and that the restoration was a no-can-do, but I put in the following ticket early this morning:
Libzee wrote:I was hoping that the GM department could assist me with the restoration of a tamed hunter pet that I abandoned on my hunter (Libzee) a few years ago. The pet was a rarespawn owl from Feralas named Olm the Wise (npc id 14343) that I had renamed to "Virgil" and I THINK I abandoned him some time during the Burning Crusade expansion, probably in 2007 (sorry, my memory is extremely fuzzy: it's been a long time). I would appreciate it very much if this pet could be restored to my account, thank you!
And this response was in my mailbox when I got home from work!:
Gerrigone wrote:Greetings, Libzee!

Thank you for taking the time to contact the World of Warcraft Game Master department. I hope you didn't have to wait long for a response to your petition, and apologize for being unable to chat with you at this moment.

I was able to restore your deleted companion pet owl. :-)

Please don't hesitate to contact us again should you require further assistance with this issue!

So I immediately run to the stable master and look around for Virgil, and lo and behold there is a level 52 white owl named "Owl" in my 5th call pet slot (I've been running around with an empty just in case I see rares)!! I immediately called him out and now he's 82, but that's my Virgil, alright!

Just wanted to give some of you potential retorees some good news and hope!
