How do you envision your hunter pets?

Unread post by Nikrosnil »

How do you imagine your favourite hunter pets in your mind? For example, I imagine Loque'nahak to have the shape and size of a cougar/panther/puma/mountain lion. She is fierce and elegant, a true representative of nature, in all of it's glory. Beautiful, but unforgiving. This is why I named her Skadi, after the norse goddess associated with wilderness, hunting, mountains and nature.

Well, my Warp Stalker is happy, and prefers sliding over the ground over walking. He also does an amusing tail-whip whenever he warps. He's got shorter than average tail spikes, and his scales are shiny, as he enjoys baths over anything else.

I also exist on DeviantArt.

I imagine my raptor as warm-blooded. I know, I know, but think elephant. Leathery, warm, and soft in spite of his spikes. I also think of him as kind of "snakey" in that he'd stand close to Sara and wrap his tail protectively around her if he senses a threat (since he would never attack unless I told him to!).

That's the only pet that has a real, fleshed out sense to me. Aoani's pets are quickly taking on personalities, but Sara's other pets can't seem to compete with Rafa. I'm hoping to tame a kitty for Sara and see if it'll become a part of her life, but we'll see.

I think Skorn's the only pet that I really feel a true personality and connection with.

I think of him as much larger than a tamed Devilsaur, something closer to his original size. He has a grey belly instead of the tan colour (I just prefer the way it matches with his black and blue), and I think of him almost like a protective dog. He's sweet and loyal to Veph, and can act positively silly and playful when he wants to, but if something is threatening his master you can bet he'll turn intimidating and ferocious right away.

I generally view Somber (my wolf) as being nervous, fidgety, and always looking for a fight

Lycan my wolf: obediant, does whatever hes aked to, but dont mind sleeping all day. not to happy about water. fur a mix of soft and stiff hairs.

Gezza my warpstalker: qurious and a glutton. want to taste everything and everyone. loves glareing at fishes swimming around. not to happy about baths but dont mind dipping head underwater. somewhat pudgy.

Cuddlebug my moth: names says most...loves clinging to people. loves getting attention. very soft.

Raiju my skoll: Dosnt like standing about doing nothing, aggresive, dont care for playing. loyal to his trainer but doesnt care much for people. Soft thick fur. sheds constantly.

Methree my hydra: i think if it as They. 3 minds. the middle one has a short attention span and want to do stuff, thus it pesters the other two constantly. the other two are somewhat ignorant, but does what they have been told to do. even though they share the same stomache none likes to share the food.

I envision Loque'nahak as shaped like--and moving like--Sabor the leopard from Disney's version of Tarzan.

As for my current pets:
Warp stalker [Zydra]: Very lazy, greedy, and short-tempered, but harmless. Warm-blooded, but she loves basking in the sun anyway. Her spikes make good mini-shields in combat, and she raises them when she's angry, scared, or surprised.
Wolf [Kavren]: Big and shaggy, and his eyes glow yellow. The fangs on his lower jaws curve back like boar's tusks. Hunched like the stereotypical direwolf, with a small lion-like mane. Sort of like an overprotective dad towards Jaddy.
Moth [Vespera]: Very calm and fluttery in a soft, gentle way, like normal moths are. Extremely soft and fluffy, sort of like a well-groomed rabbit. Very clean and quiet, usually rests on Jaddy's shoulder or head and is the most sensible and level-headed of her pets.
Ravager [Rakkan]: Covered in an insectoid shell that's lightweight and impenetrable by fangs or claws. Makes angry clicking/growling noises all the time and is very fidgety and aggressive, but not exceptionally bright and easily confused.
Cat [Senka]: Huge, even compared to a draenei, and despite her feline grace she throws all her weight around when she moves. Sweet, playful, and motherly, despite her rather alarming size and fangs/claws.

Shan'Falore has blue eyes that contrast the normal yellow seen in other wolves and she has a silver chain around her neck that is very fancy with small symbols engraved on it. She also has a smaller chain that runs down her right fore leg from the top of her upper leg to the bottom and it connects by a silver ring on her wrist and a larger ring on her upper leg. It is long and hangs loosley from her leg and the ring on her wrist has inscribings on it telling of her title.

Shan'Falore has a playful personality but has a regal air about her and it is pretty noticeble sometimes hehe.

Larger than an avarage wolf more akin to the Worg size she is very powerful but sleek and graceful and often strikes before enemys know she is there. Her coat is sleek and well kept and will always dash off into some random pool of water to get clean if she can see one. :p

Not particulary fond of fighting she is in it for the adventure...she loves to see new places and behold sites that many of her kind may never see on thier own. Though she is kind hearted her anger is nothing short of legendary and when pushed to the point her ferocity is a sight to see.

Kite -- Crocolisk. Moves at his own pace, when he feels like moving at all, basks with his mouth open when he doesn't. Spends a lot of time ... day-dreaming. He's laid-back enough to let Nath guide him along when it suits him, but doesn't tolerate others very well. And though he generally moves slowly, a hand or foot that gets a little too close is going to get snapped on, and quickly.

Aw, that's sad to hear, but I'm sure there's the perfect pet out there just waiting for you. :D

Maybe try out some pets that you normally wouldn't think of taming? You'd be surprised how your mind can change once that pet is yours and it's by your side. I've had quite a few pleasant surprises by straying from my normal choices before. ^^ Good luck!

I agree with Veph here. I tamed the beige scorpid on my new hunter, just to see if I'd like it. If now, you know, all I'd have lost was the time to run to Durotar, after all. Well, I love her. Love her to bits!

When i first started my hunter, I spent a LOT of time just poring over pictures and family skills and so on, on the Petopia main site. I got lots of ideas, tried out a ton of pets, and found a few that stuck with me for a long time.

You'll find it, Lotokoth. :)

Nightshade:
Bitingly sarcastic, built low to the ground and complains when she has to waddle over ice and snow (don't blame her, she's got a point!). Otherwise a very loyal and dedicated protector of the family. Definitely loves her some fish XD

Amenti:
Lovingly loyal pridemother with a regality that is visible from miles away. Takes no pride in her former title however. Friendly, warm and kind-hearted. Has fallen in love with Griefstrike.

Griefstrike:
Getting on in his years, but still full of that flighty, adventurous spirit and cunning. Wise and comforting and imparts knowledge even when it goes unheeded. Persistant in his ways, and devoted to his mate, Amenti.

Boannan:
Playful down to her very whiskers, a regal pridequeen in a rambunctious kitten's form. Happiness just seems to ooze out of every fur strand on this cat. It's hard to get her mad or even annoyed. Very matter of fact when it comes to playtime. Treats everything, even boss fights, like an imaginary playtime scenario.

Tiberias:
Uncertain of himself and his new family at first, but is now blessed with the return of his memories. Endearingly devoted to Lazona and his brothers and sisters. Will leap in at the drop of the hat, hissy, pissy, snarly and protective. Is very fond of hugs and licks from his new family, but reminisces often of the life he was forced to leave behind.

Ophios:
Full of himself and the "only" dedicated male prideleader of the family. Gets sorely put in his place by Drachenstein. Does step out of line when the opportunity arises though.

Qendresa:
Mindful of her surroundings. A proud but gentle and adoring feline. Can't help herself but be a mother sometimes (Kas's closest thing to one out in the world).

Drachenstein:
The adopted sireling of King Mosh, later saved by Kastarakov and his pets; bonded to Kas after those events. Treats everything, even dueling, as playtime. After running away and shedding his skin, returning as a fierce green-scaled Devilsaur (Krush), Drach has changed a little since - still playful but is now fully capable of chasing Ophios up a tree if he misbehaves!

Tanzanite:
A beautiful trickster parrot who plays pranks on unsuspecting players, their pets and wild animals. Simply can't help herself! Whilst she is no Banshee (Zarakh, Kas's former pet), she retains that giggling glory that made Banshee so famous. Is rather fond of hanging upside down from vines and branches and squawking in people's ears.

Stjärnfall:
Quiet and protective, he stalks his prey with effortless ability. He speaks only to Kas, his voice a soft, masterful tone. Is deeply proud of where he's come and where he's going now by the side of his new master. Loves to curl up beside Kas and keep him warm at night.

Decimen (Ravager)- Wild and agressive, but very protective. Sort of like Faolette's (hunter) older brother. Swims like a squid and growls a lot to help his tough image.
Beast (Corehound)- A bit slow, but loyal. Eager to please and pretends to be macho. Loves to be skritched under the chin. Will perform tricks for food.
Ed (Hyena)- Cheerful and unpredictable. Still getting a feel. Rolls around in the dirt.
Myst (Cat)- Basically a big kitten. Loves swimming and hates heights. Has the best communication with hunter.

This is a fun topic.
Please don't kill me, I'm trying to love you

I see Mel as rather fearsome-looking compared to other tamed cats. While other cats are able to retain their elegance, Mel always seems to look like she had just returned from a battle. Her fur is ruffled, her claws slightly blood-stained, and her eyes ever so vigilant. Even after a wash, Mel still lacks the elegance that other cats possess.

Alliance:

Iorek: Iorek the wolf was rescued from the Ramparts. He's very playful and happy-go-lucky. At a young age, he was captured and forced to be a bloodthirsty monster for the Hellfire orcs. He's very obedient, and puppy-like, making up for his deprived puppyhood. He is extremely protective over Firewing, and can be very vicious and fierce in battle. Iorek is the youngest of the bunch.

Moonlight: Moonlight is a beautiful feline, strong and brave. He is devoted to Firewing, and would willingly give his life for her. He has a sarcastic, chiding, serious tone, usually yelling at Iorek or comforting Echo. He is the oldest.

Echo: Echo, (Gondria) one of Har'koa's fallen children, is flighty and nervous. She seems confused and even in denial. She's Artemis's sister. The ghostly feline is quiet, and stealthy. She is always in the shadows, unnoticed until she needs to strike. She is Firewing's second youngest ally.

Artemis: (Loque) Artemis is another of Har'koa's children. After being rescued from one of Nesingwary's traps, the cat loyally follows Firewing. Artemis and Echo usually sleep together, their bond with each other only rivaled with their bond with Firewing. She is shy and distrustful, like Echo at first, but when she knows her surroundings she is very playful, curious, and fierce.

Arktos: (Arcturis) Arktos is Firewing's newest friend. He is loyal and eager to please. He enjoys sleeping and lazing about, only getting up when Firewing tells him too.

Ghost: A very unruly, and stubborn young wolf (Ghostpaw Alpha), and my main hunter's oldest companion. He is very protective of his master, and becomes jealous easily. He rarely looks before he leaps, and ends up getting into trouble quite often. He is fairly well behaved and friendly with his master, but tends to be very standoffish around strangers. I've always imagined him to have a very coyote like build (only larger) and an almost pure white coat flecked with silver hairs so that it looks as though he shimmers when in motion.

Cower: Your typical cat (Loque'Nahak). Stubborn, aloof, independent. He enjoys lazing around and basking in the sun. He will do whatever his master commands without question as long as he is fed plenty of meat. He gets bored easily and loves to harass his fellow stable mates, especially Ghost the wolf. Cower has a short temper, and very mush dislikes being cuddled or patted (though he will tolerate it from his master). Cower looks like a typical snow leopard, however, I imagine his face/head to be more similar to that of a clouded leopard.

I have a many other pets spread across three hunters, but none of them have yet to develop personalities as these two have.

Forgot my Hordie and her pets!

Skitty the kitty! :typical kitten, short attention span. Chases smal critters but get Frightend by big guys.
Her deep red fur is always clean, shiny and smooth. Avoids water like the plague

Speedwalk the Devilsaur: Stil a youngester, friendly and quorius. Sticks her big face into everything.
Gets easily exited and loves to play fetch and fight.

Chuutai the windserpent: calm and loyal. enjoys curling around Speedwalks neck. Think its cause their both are white. Makes him seem bigger and more dangerous. Does his best in anny fight. Loves swimming and curling around people when its feeding time.

Bat the bat..: Seem to attract dirt and not a big fan of bathing but axepts it. Preffers to sleep over fighting, but does enjoy to scare people with his massive size once enraged. Loves to hug around people and doze off. fur is stiff.

Silithid(possibly name beeing Twinkletoes): new to the group and yet to be trained and named. Lazy ass bugger. when not out on the move it sleeps with its legs stretched out as far as possible. Also snores loud. Though once awake its ready for action.

Also have my first hunter who hasent reached max lvl yet

Blade the wolf: Loyal, well trained and wise. would sacrifice his life for his master. Always calm and collected. Thick pitch black fur with a mix of stiff and soft hair:

Peppermint the warpstalker: Playfull and cuddly, her body always warm. Fighting isent her fav thing but does want to please.

Babysnatcher the spider: Mischievous and sneaky. enjoys poping out of teh dark with a loud screch. tries her best to avoid beeing petted and such.
