%@&^ing paladins

Unread post by Ellaran »

If there's any class I hate when it comes to anything PvP (especially when it's a PvE server and they're hornier than a teenage boy to kill the other faction), it's paladins. I've never been able to kill a pally, or even just escape one. Five different stuns and slows, fricking heals, and their all-popular bubble. Intimidate one, use Concussive Shot or Ice Trap? Somehow they catch up on foot without using any slows and I'm running in a straight line. Do paladins have foot speed-increasing abilities? And the fact you can't fricking resist Holy magic, screw that noise.

Yeah, I'm venting, I'm on a PvE server, just went to get the Kurken, and the instant I hearth back to Deepholm I get jumped by a damned Ally paladin. Get back to my body two seconds later and she's already run off, almost like she was patrolling for any Horde who might have come to Deepholm right after doing something that flagged them for PvP.

If you get the jump on a Pally, they are easily kiteable. Not too many stuns or snares for a Paladin.

Hahaha no. No they aren't that easy to kite, trust me. Not Retridins at anyrate, they have a speed increase, they can cast Exorcism and they can increase the range of their judgements, and have two stuns, plus bubbles and damage reductions.

Meaning if you concussive paladin, AotC and go to kite- Judgement, daze. If you Concussive shot and attempt to kite normally, paladin bubble, run up to you, smack you down, stun you when bubble wears off, smacks you down for more.

Protection paladins Also have a ranged attack that can daze you.

Paladins are a pretty dangerous class really, when well played. And even when not so well played they;re dangerous.

Pallies have a talent they can spec into in the retribution tree called "pursuit of justice" which is a run speed increase.

They also have Hand of Freedom. Dispelling that doesn't always happen immediately. Ugh.

Maybe I have been killing bad Paladins then. I don't have too much trouble with them at all. Warlocks on the otherhand... >.<

They also have some stupid sprint now. I hated them in WotLK, found it impossible to kill a good one and hard to kill the average--and that was on my mage. Now, I can USUALLY kill them--rets are pretty weak right now in PvP. Prots are so-so for me. Holy paladins are impossible though, from my experience :P (Good ones with equal gear at least.)

Keeping Concussive up, using Tranquilizing Shot a few times, keeping frost trap/snakes down when possible and just generally pressuring them seems to work. I have a better time with a Spirit Beast or Chimaera for the heals/extra slow, but if you have Silencing Shot, that should give you a good edge too. I usually try and time Intimidation when I know they're about to HoJ, or BW out of that (or Rep if they're using it as a gap-closer). Disengaging through them to the other side usually confuses them too >.> It's usually a close-ish fight regardless, but with fancy footwork it's usually a win with a ret.
