Very sorry again, and I hope there are no hard feelings!

Well here is my adventure with Zeke the Zerker, my assigned black beetle.

On looking for the locations to tame black beetles, I saw that there was some in Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj. So, I figured that would be a challenge. (Unfortunately, it is really easy to solo at 85.) The most exciting thing was right after I tamed him I got hit by a pack of wasps. He quickly made short work of them even though he was very unhappy.

Off we went to do my Tol Barad dailies. I wanted to give me a fair chance so I was trying to think of a name when there was a pathing bug and he grabbed about four villagers. So, I thought about calling him Zerker after going through several names with my Mom and finally decided on Zeke.

He still hadn't cast Harden Carapace even when I stacked up seven mobs on him. So even though it wasn't the day for Tank, off we went to solo him.

Went off without a hitch and I forgot to renew mend pet a couple times so he actually put up hardened Carapace. I was pretty impressed with a level 82 pet tanking Tank. The only down about this is that he has no swim animation. Which rather bothered me. :/

The pattern on his back is rather pretty. I also really like the character in his idle animation.

I played with him until he leveled up to 83 and a bit beyond. While I had little stories in my head about him already and he had a definite personality, I kept wanting to put him away and get out my other pets. So, since I always have trouble letting pets go I took him back home and sent him on his merry way.

Hello, my name's Loethlin and my hunter's name is Pralinka.
I've been assigned an Orange and Black Ravager for the Random Pet Challenge v2.
I was contemplating taming a Ravager for some time but never got to do it, so I'm quite happy it was rolled for me.

After doing dailies on my main, I headed to Hellfire Peninsula to tame a pretty Ravager.

I called him Nugat, which means... well... Nougat. To fit my hunter, whose name translates to Praline.

Immidiately after that, I opted for testing his battle prowess on a nearby Fel Reaver.

We then headed to do some dailies, for Therazane and Wildhammer clan.


Nugat performed really well, especially when killing that elite mob. I like his Ravage ability.
Then it was time for Heroics.

I was doing them mostly with friends. They all complimented Ravage as well, since most of them did physical DPS.
I managed to get several achievements on the way.
Apparently, I'm ready for raiding.

On that deadmines run, Nugat dinged 85.


After several randoms, we decided to level Archaeology. Nugat was very keen on biting those trolls, so I could survey in peace. He just killed them outright, I didn't have to worry about anything.

While in Stranglethorn vale, we visited Booty Bay to look at the destroyed goblin, and admire moonrise.



Nugat is... kind of cute, really. I like his model very much. Especially the way he sways like a Rastafarian when he runs beside me. His swimming animation is fine, as well. I love the colour combination on him, and I really like the fact that he looks like he's smiling all the time
I'm definitely keeping him in my stable, he's not only useful, but very pretty.

So I had two assignments, sort of. But the one I chose to write on was the easier of the two to get hold of: the white tallstrider. The trip to the Barrens was really just a run through Ashenvale, and a trot through the lands, hunting for a white bird. Finding one, I tamed him, and... there's not much else to that. However, the running and finding were obnoxious enough that even before I found him, he had already earned his name: Bedeviled.



For colors, I'm usually into the bright, gaudy colors of the various tallstriders. I figured that the basic white would put me off. However, I'm finding it fairly relaxing and enjoyable, rather than boring. It stands out simply by *not* standing out.



One thing about Bedeviled that I'm noticing: he's a lot harder to feed than a lot of other creatures. Plenty of beasts drop meat, to be sure, but there's not a whole heck of a lot that drops fruit, bread, or fungus out in the barrens. I was happy I'd saved my spice bread from earlier, as it let me keep the little guy interested! And it gave me enough time to get down to Ratchet and get him some better food.

At this low a level, I can't say a *huge* amount about his talents. However, I can say that I absolutely love the sound effects, not to mention the adorable way he runs after the enemy with his little wings out. All in all, I'm just finding running with the little guy very endearing. He has a lot of personality! And the way he pecks the heck out of enemies as he fights them is hilarious.

For the record: the amount of death to get to my second pet (the red bat) wasn't terrible. The amount of death to realize that I still had Bedeviled along with me, and would have had to abandon him to make room? And the nearest place to drop him off was Western Plaguelands? *That* was a little more impressive!

.... say nothing of putting the bat away and going back for Bayne 'while I was in the neighbourhood'.

So my assignment was:


My biggest gripe with worms is that their AoE ability drops aggro, which to me, is absurd for a pet in the tenacity family. The other reason I dislike that the ability drops aggro is that I guess Blizzard wants us to use them as a DPS pet. Again, seems silly to me, especially when we're not supposed to be AoEing in Cata the way we did in WotLK, and if I really wanted to do good AoE DPS, I'd probably grab a chimaera for more overall damage as opposed to a worm. (That's my opinion so I'd appreciate no one attacking me over it.)

Now that that's out of the way, I had a blue jormungar worm named Boris in my stables that I've kind of abandoned because of the aforementioned reasons. I figured this challenge was a good way to see if I still have a love for the worm family. A quick check on Petopia had me taking the zeppelin from Org out to Borean Tundra, and a short flight from there into Dragonblight. These green guys hang out in the northern part of the zone.

First thing I noticed is that their coloring in game is actually much nicer than the way the picture depicts them. This guy's first emote was to nip me in the shoulder so I dubbed him Chewy. My goodness has this little (well, he's taller than me so I guess he's actually big ) guy rekindled my love of jormungar. His coloring looks great next to my orc, and I love the little frost breath they emit when they're just standing there.


This guy loves curling himself around me and gurgling happily and...I love it!
One thing I did notice that was really cool about his abilities is his acid spit. If he's tanking more than one mob, he will apply acid spit to at least two mobs, which I thought was kind of neat. They seem to be able to cycle through which mobs don't have the debuff as well.

Thanks for this challenge Kormai! I got to reacquaint myself with a pet family I thought I was going to ignore. Turns out, all I needed was a new skin to bond with. I will be keeping Chewy in my stables (and probably using him more frequently too!) and releasing Boris back to his home.

Okay so i was given the Appointment of the Red warpstalker.


I put away my Extra Devilsaur. (I like traveling with two of them because I usually travel with rares and when I go and hunt the rare zones I don't want a false ping of the pet to pop on someones screen.) So i traveled to Outland to the Blade's Edge Mountains. It was easy to find the Warpstalker among the Boars and other things wandering around. So I set down my trap and started to tame.


After i tamed him he re-sized down to a more reasonable size for traveling and whatnot. But now he was a terror to the other Warpstalkers in the area and they would not even notice him as he walked by. To make him feel better I took him to a place he had never been. Stormwind! He is now called Rupert!


We frolicked around and eventually made it to the Cathedral for some relaxation. (What i loved about walking with the warpstalker is the way that his spines laid down.)

After all this lazing about I took him to Twilight Highlands. We took on our first challenge of the day which was some cultists and their fire elementals. He tanked like a pro never letting me grab aggro. I popped all my cool downs to test if he could keep aggro under stress and he did! What a good tank! I was quite surprised at how satisfied I was with how he looked while he tanked. When I had first spotted these guys I had thought that they really aren't that good looking. But after spending almost a full day with this guy I was Seriously thinking that they look good. Especially with his Amazing color. The gold and the red go quite well together.

All in all i would have to say that He is having a good chance of replacing Marcus(Terrorpene) as my main Tank. Further testing showed that his maximum holding of aggroed mobs was about 8-9 targets. After that amount I was pulling them off of him.

My first challenge was the pink raptor for my undead hunter Breyalin!



I really like this model because I love pink... BUT it looks so weird next to my undead. She's so green and pale and... dead and the raptor is pink and bright and alive! I love all the animations the raptor does although their screech bothers me a little. I love it that they do a little jump when attacking. n__n All in all, this is a very pretty pet but definitely not suited for my undead. Random thought but how do they even put on their feathers and beads?? Their arms can't reach! I released her back into the Barrens to be with all her pretty pink friends.



My next challenge was the pink scorpid for my night elf hunter, Amaranthe.



I had never tamed a scorpid pet before because I felt that they were kind of boring and useless. I tamed this little guy and named him Clyve. He's pretty feisty! Another pink scorpid decided to walk up and pinch me on my butt after I had tamed Clyve and he went and defended my honor! *tosses Clyve some tasty talbuk*



Here he is doing his little victory dance! X] Anyway, I took Clyve out to Outlands do kill a few mobs. I always tend to get REALLY bored and unmotivated in Outlands but I brought Clyve out and actually felt a little better. I tested him on a mob and he held aggro REALLY well! Better than my bear, even! Then his special ability was quite useful when I fell down a hill and was surrounded by mobs... *coughs* But yes, my previous Clyve! He's pink, he makes cute noises, he has a happy dance and he's a great tank. With him fighting alongside me, Outlands won't be so terrible anymore!



I would like to go again, if that's okay! One for Amaranthe, as she doesn't have many pets.

Right, time to talk about my orange hyena!

I've looked at this skin on Petopia before and basically thought "Meh" about the color. I liked it, but it was so boring compared to the others. That's the mentality I had before I tamed this little guy.

The tame itself was uneventful, I just picked up the closest hyena. My first thought, though, was that it really matched my red and white tauren! He just looks right by her side, much better than the bear, even. He has these cute, keen little eyes too, and his fuzzy "mane" is great. He doesn't seem quite as shiny as the yellow hyena, which has a beautiful sheen on its haunches, but I like the rich orange. I also like how muddy he looks, very Hyena.

I still don't like the new hunched posture they have, but I've learned to tolerate it. He looks very nice bouncing back and forth beside me, like he just ran ten miles and has to catch his breath. His run animation is bouncy but smooth, somehow, and his attack animations are nice. His swim animation is rather boring, but not ugly.

The only problem I see with it is his hunched posture and his funky chest, which just looks awkward. I LOVE his fuzzy, bristly mane, though.

I would have been giving assignments throughout the day while camping Jadefang....however a Druid decided to make my day a lot harder. I got her in the end (now a complete set of pet and mini-pet) but didn't get much else done that I wanted to do...Tomorrow while I am camping Arcturis!!!
