I got it in my head that I needed to tame Loque a while ago, even though I originally had no interest in him whatsoever. It started with casual searching.....if I was online and near Sholazar, I'd do a quite circle. This would get more serious until eventually it turned into pure obsession, and I found myself unexpectedly falling for the beautiful cat. o.o
Anyways, since today marked the beginning of the weekend, I vowed that I would stay up all Friday if I had to in order to find this elusive creature. I logged on directly after work today, and posted my usual "Anyone seen Loque today?" in the General Chat. I never get any responses, but today was different. A rogue said that she had seen him earlier at around 3:15pm, though she had not killed him.
Being extremely excited for a time frame, I now knew that he would most likely show up between then at 3:15am (since a 12 hour spawn timer seems to be the usual 'maximum' one). So began my long, long night of camping. Sochi came by a few hours into it and kept me company, along with my boyfriend who decided to farm ore just so he could keep a lookout for me.
There were a few frustrating moments when a random Night Elf hunter shows up with a tamed Loque that sets off our NPC scans, giving us 3 false alarms and causing us to log and reset our caches. A few hours later, more guildies show up and graciously join in the hunt!
At one point there was a total of 6 of us flying around. What better chances could I have?!Finally, at 2am server time, my NPC scan goes off, and there he is! It was right at the western point near the bones (oddly enough exactly where my intuition told me he'd be), so I drop down and naturally fumble, realizing my freeze trap isn't on the action bar. xD I try taming without it but start dying, so I Feign Death and find the trap in my spellbook to attempt again. Of course a Dreadsaber comes and aggroes, but the tame completes and laser kitty is MINE!
*wipes forehead* Anyways, will post with screenies and a name afterwards, still too jittery right now. xD
