Cata health and mana pots!
Cata health and mana pots!
I have NEVER seen one drop off a mob. Anywhere. Ever. At all.

I can't confirm whether this is intended or not, but I have the same thing. No pots or scrolls, ever. It may be intentional, so as to make the Inscription and Alchemy professions more lucrative.
And I'd like some waffles, please.

Re: Cata health and mana pots!
Agreed, my Rogue was having a hell of a time leveling to 85 without health pots. I use them and Bandages often as a rogue, but since Embersilk is still tough to come by I don't always have bandages. I was still using Wrath's health pots all the way to 85, which sucked because they pretty much did nothing...(as well as any Rogue's Draughts I'd happened to pickpocket).
I never saw'em drop. I guess they have to be made? If that's the case, maybe I"ll start leveling my DK/alchemist next....X_X

I got a health pot from the bag you get as a reward from the Orgrimmar fishing daily once, but I haven't seen any drop from mobs.
I haven't needed one yet anyway, though.

I've heard that it's intentional in order to give Alchemists a bit of a market for them, but either way they definitely don't seem to drop from Cata mobs.

Re: Cata health and mana pots!
I had one drop from a fishing bag from the Stormwind fishing daily before Cata came out. That was kind of neat, but it's never happened since.
I have, however, seen our resident rogue pickpocket some special rogue-only health potions. Those are pretty nifty.

As a hunter/priest/shammy I'm usually just fine... but now I'm eyeballing my dk and mage, and I'm really enjoying my rogue (but thankfully he's only 41 right now).
Not really thrilled about them letting alchemists monopolize the market. They already have the corner on flasks and battle/guardian elixirs.

I had one pop out of a crate from fishing the shipwreck debris in Tol Barad. It was a mana pot (You know, so useful to hunters!) - other than that I have not come across any either.

They are nifty (I used them a lot on my rogue as well). Unfortunately they don't really heal for a lot, and you have to get lucky enough to pickpocket them too, which isn't guaranteed.Kalliope wrote: I have, however, seen our resident rogue pickpocket some special rogue-only health potions. Agreed...kinda miffed on that point, especially since we're still early in the game and prices for anything are exorbitant.Cozzene wrote:As a hunter/priest/shammy I'm usually just fine... but now I'm eyeballing my dk and mage, and I'm really enjoying my rogue (but thankfully he's only 41 right now).

If your DK is high enough to gather herbs, try gathering herbs, or getting them cheaply. Most Alchs will make them for free or a small tip if you offer. Ofc there is a chance to be ripped off but still.VelkynKarma wrote:Agreed...kinda miffed on that point, especially since we're still early in the game and prices for anything are exorbitant.

Coal got tipped like 20g even when I said the guy didn't need to pay too O.o
Re: Cata health and mana pots!
I haven't seen a single alch offer ANYTHING for free because they're gold blinded by the sheer money they get from their charged fees for the Vial of the Sands and Truegold cooldowns. They demand mats AND a fee, aren't even calling it a "tip" anymore. YYMV of course.
