Turtle cookies for EVERYONE!

A few weeks ago, I got rather obsessed with Terrorpene. I read every topic there was, and decided I needed him. At level 81. ::sigh:: What can I say, I read a post here saying someone DID it at 81 and me at my whopping 39K of health, no potions, no nothing, decided to camp one spawn spot.

FOR THREE FREAKING DAYS... TWELVE HOURS A DAY...
Day one, I logged out for 30 seconds to do something... came back and he was tamed... so I timed six hours and logged back in and SAT for 5 more hours of no spawning turtle.
Day two, I sat there for most of the day, logged out to eat at 8PM and got a note from the other person waiting that it spawned about 5 minutes after I logged and she tamed him.
::sigh::
Day three... after hours sitting there, NPC scan went off!
I started the tame... thought I FINISHED the tame... died as it ended... no turtle. I ran BACK, tried again... died in ONE HIT (LOL, it was pathetic) and a nice troll tamed him, rather than letting him despawn since after 2 tried, we all KNEW it wasn't happening.

I realized I was never going to do this thing... and so I began to level instead... still lusting over that wonderful, awesome, flamy turtle!

Today, about 4 days later, at 83, I was waiting for the better half to show up so we could finish Hyjal, and then go back to the stinky underwater zone we both really hate to finish there. On a whim, I bought a potion of haste, a prismatic potion, got out Frost, my corehound and flew over, sitting on the same rock where I'd died a few days earlier.

No obsession this time-- it was more a "hell, have to wait to play ANYhow, why not sit here?" sort of thing.

And then he spawned. I attempted tame... and died... another person attempted tame... they died... I came back, ate to full health, popped another potion, summoned my corehound for Ancient Hysteria, dismissed Frost, hit tame... and died.

This time around, rather than freaking out, I was giggling... obviously, Mister Turtle does not want to come home with me... SO I took my time coming back, but when I arrive, the other guy trying to tame was there, as was an alliance hunter... but no one had him.

I asked in General Chat who'd tamed him-- was told he'd despawned. Which was weird-- when I died the other time, after swimming from my rocky area, he'd done a full circuit... but hell, this is WoW, land of the weird.

And then it hit me to check my summonable pets.
Frost the corehound, check.....
Stormfront the lion, check....
Seker the undead eagle, check...
Oh look; neat turtle icon...

Oh... my...

::happy dance:: So, despite the whole dying thing, Terrorpene has come home... now to get him named!

Well, good for you, Arisia! How did you break the news over the general channel?
As for a new name, I've seen plenty of different ones used for this fireball. But, one I haven't seen yet is Tectonic, since the way his shell glows reminds me of tectonic plates.

It was funny... I was actually eager to hear WHO had tamed him, so I could /grats them... and so when I found him in with my other pets, you know, having a get-to-know-one-another social, I rather giddily typed : "Erm, never mind, holy crap, somehow *I* tamed him" which got some actual laughs ;D

Congrats! A long time ago, one of my hunter alts died while taming ghost saber, and I didn't realize the tame took until I'd spawned Another ghost saber, and it wouldn't let me tame

And Tectonic is an awesome suggestion.
