The random pet challenge: v2.

I was assigned a brown tallstrider this time.

I like tallstriders a lot. On one of my very first hunters, a dwarf girl, I ran all the way to Mulgore at lvl 10 to tame Mazzranache. I loved that silly, pink bird, even if he didn't do very well in the dps department (this was years ago). I'm so glad they made 'striders Ferocity pets with a pretty useful skill.

But the brown colored one wasn't something I ever considered taming. I can't say he looks bad next to Kalhoun.



I do like all those earthy browns and his blue eyes. And striders just have this great attitude anyways (they look smiley and proud to me).

There's actually some interesting colors going on - very subtle ochre, yellow and lavender.



It had occurred to me, after taming him, that I had never seen the tallstrider swimming animations - when I had one on my dwarf, they just walked through the water. Their swim is so funny! Looks like an awkward duck if you just go along the surface. They flap their little wings and arch their necks as they kick those gangly legs behind them. I giggled.

Anyways, Brownie the brown tallstrider and I ran around Azuremyst for a little bit. He ate some murlocs and went swimming some more. Though taming him gave me a new appreciation for his color scheme, I just couldn't see myself keeping him. You see, I have a pink one I keep in my active five, and he would get jealous.

In fact, after I returned home to Stormwind, we hung out a bit.

Kurasu: I'm so sorry for that challenge, the Tallstrider really was completely random. In the first picture you and the tallstider have the exact same posture haha. And did you end up getting Bayne?

Tyger: I'm happy that taming the Jormungar rekindled your love for worms! It's so nice they gave us more of a choice when it comes to Jormungars. I love their models but it was kind of boring when all where the same colour (ghost or otherwise).

Neko: Kormai has that skin and I love the red and gold. Also nice last picture there with the red tree in the background.

Miraga: I have to agree with you about the purple raptor, it really doesn't suit your undead hunter :O. But Clyve looks great with your Nelf!

Lupis: I'm very glad you like the hyena as I've never really been able to connect with it myself. I have the purple one and the red one and they never get used

Kalhoun: I agree about the brown tallstrider...it's kind of plain. I love the pink one as well .

That bird is rather beautiful. Can you get them from regular deadmines as my hunter doesn't have access to heroic?

I didn't know whether or not they scaled with level. And after thinking about it, I realized that I had seen Ol' Beaky on one of my lowbies that went through Deadmines. Brain fart on my part.

Was given... A worg to tame! Have... Never actually tried out this particular model. Have the oil-stained wolf, but rarely take him out of the stables.

Off to Howling Fjord we go! Yoinked the first wolf I spotted.



Alrighty, let's kill stu-... Wait.



The tamed wolf was stuck in the most unusual position. No matter how many times I ran around, danced and stripped naked, it remained with its face firmly planted in the ground. My recently race-changed goblin can't be THAT ugly! >:C



Brainwave! After dismissing and resummoning the pet...



Finally! Could test out the pet! Marched back, grabbed a handful of quests and began shooting things. The fun bit!



And... The verdict? Exactly like my other pets. Fire an explosive shot and... RUN AROUND IN CIRCLES AND HOPE FOR THE BEST AFTER YOU'VE AGGRO'D THE MOB DUE TO A CERTAIN LACK OF MISDIRECT, AHEM. It works! Secretly! Couldn't really notice a difference, but the buff it provided was snazzytastic.



Was rather fond of the model, too! Quite like the snarly-grumpy-face and the raggedy feraly-ness that the rough fur provides. It looks like it'll eat you and your future children- perfect! While I liked the model... Will most likely pick up this wolf in the white colouration. It doesn't match my mohawk, psh!



Stole the screenshot idea from the beetle-draenei poster somewhere above and sent the fanglorious wolf on its merry way! Great model, just gotta' level high enough to nab the white version!

I had the grey parrot for my challenge.


So from Org I headed to Ratchet to catch the boat to Booty Bay (said hi to Humar on my way). Flew up to Westfall from Booty Bay and made a visit to the Deadmines that I haven't done in a very long time. Found a rare human right before the entrance as well. XD Chewy helped me clear the way to the final room.

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful this guy actually looks once tamed.


I thought the gray would be drab, and that couldn't be further from the truth. Named this guy Silver for his beautiful coloring (I love the splash of red on the underside of his tail!). After taming Silver and naming him, I decided to just go ahead and finish off Deadmines since I was there and knew I didn't have the achievement. Once finished, I hearthed back to Org and headed out to the Twilight Highlands.

My favorite thing to do with new pets is see how well they hold aggro without misdirect. Granted, I'm BM so this is much easier for my pets, but considering the mobs in TH hit pretty hard and Silver was only level 81, he did really well. He held aggro with nothing more than a kill command while I blasted arcane shots and cobra shots into the mobs.



I was surprised by his damage. I'd never been overly impressed with birds of prey before, but he did surprisingly well. Snatch is a pretty handy ability as well. I could see the difference between how much damage he took when he disarmed the Wildhammer guys and when the ability was on cooldown.

Overall, Silver is a very beautiful pet, I love the parrot models, even if they don't do a trick. They also fly high enough so that their flapping idle animation doesn't bother me. They have adorable fight noises and I love their pet emotes. ^_^

HEE! It's no problem at all! Frankly I had a ball with it. It took me hours to get to the bat, and many many deaths to stick him properly in my stable so I could get more stuff. But I really enjoyed it. It brought me back to when I was a little dwarven hunter, running around to get my pet abilities. *wistful*

I did finally end up getting Bayne, after watching him get one-shotted by a guard. He's a cutie. I don't think I'd get him on Kura.... but I *do* have to admit that I liked the Tallstrider so much, I retired Kurasu's fox and got him a purple one. I could never really bond with Ghost, anyhow.

Think you could stand rolling my guy another?

Restrictions: none. Almost at the level for exotics and I have a lvl85 hunter on hand to test-drive pets my goblin's still too low for, so everything works.

Ok, using the fact that it is very late after the raid and most reasonable people are asleep, I went to Feralas to check, if I could perhaps get The Razza as my assigned White Chimaera.

They are really great tanks, i ran around with mine in twlight highlands and he held aggro like a champ. Had no problems with him what so ever, plus its nice they have some different colors. I would of loved him but for the fact of how the eyes are.... they just bug me to death, its also why i dont like crabs in RL LOL, but they are wonderful tank pets and their pin ability is super nice! helps out in pvp as well. So i suggest this pet is someone is looking for a tank pet at a low lvl and crabs are around lol

Okay so i was given the challenge of:
Draekodon - Core Hound

I chose the harder of the two and Went for Draekodon. Aka Chromaggus.
So i chose my Friends to help me go through this Raid carefully. Then I choose my mount carefully. Then I flew carefully to the entrance.


After this I just plugged through the first room with only One death. *Poses Mightily*
After the first room we tore through the bosses and trash like they weren't there. Left and right they went down thanks to my mighty Rifle and Mighty Spirit beast- LoqueQutis!

When i got to the room i was afraid my friends had to tell me to go it alone or Face the consequences of loosing Chromaggus.
So onward i went.

Kinda creepy in there with all the Dead Drakes hanging by chains... *shudders in her MIGHTY boots*
But onward I went!
Oh dear Alexandria!

So I might have panicked a little. But, I popped a haste pot and then went to Tame this big boy!

Boom! I got this big boy! And dang does he look so Cute!


I haven't named him yet but i love his purple coloring. After this me and my friends went on to finish up BWL and I got the honor of Giving the king of Stormwind the head of Nefarian. All in all a good day!

I have had Core Hound before and i found i rather liked them. This one i tested in a Random regular and he pulled good dps as well as made it easier on us because of his ancient hysteria. Plus I got lots of complements on his skin. Which i admit is a very lovely shade of purple.

Think it would be fun to go again. So:
