What... is... this? (Warning, rare spawns making me mad)

Okay I'm about to turn mad.. I've just spent literally the WHOLE night camping Loque'Nahak, been doing circuts and camping and had my eyes nearly always on the screen.

And please don't say "You wont get it overnight kk? Itz _rare_ spawn" because you know what?
I've camped it, four days playtime +. Spent 2 and a half day playtime camping it in 77 and rest have I spent camping now in 80.

starting to believe it has been removed from the game ! >< Also been flying over King Krush's spawnpoints also, nothing from both..

Also .. I heard the spirit bear has a .. 9 hour spawn time? Right? Means I would have had that pet today. Something isn't right here ><

I've been reading sooo much while camping Loque'Nahak, and generally people say the spawntime of it is 6-14 hours, some also say 3 hours, and that leaves me with the following hours to choose from: 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and 14... How can I prepare for this? It's just too many hours there to choose its spawn, I can't possibly "predict" a new spawn after its been killed with TEN choices of the next spawntime..
Its like: "Hmm, this is easy, he will spawn in either 3, 6, 7,8,9,10,11,12,13, or 14 hours, np at all..."

Also, I spotted the beast twice, first time was right after christmas, but some tard lvl 70 came killing me and it (Dismissed pet and had my "taming action bars" up)
Second time there was a nice paladin with a bronze drake who flew in 5 seconds before me and slaughtered it infront of my eyes, I was spamming emotes praying he would stop bashing at it.. But no, he kills both it and me.

Also while I was camping loque I spotted king krush, I flew down and WTF?! This beast fears and stomps or something, is it impossible to solo tame him? Well eventually allies came to "save" me by killing it...


That was pretty much it, thats what I've been experiencing all those days playtime.. Just needed to get it out, WHY am I so damn unlucky?? ><

I just acquired Loque myself last night, and honestly the only thing I can say is patience and perseverance. D:

I logged on when I got home from work then circled his spawn points until 2am when he appeared. I was lucky enough to have some friends and guildies help me search, but in the end I was the one who found him anyways.

I know it's hard and frustrating looking for these pets, but once you get them it will be so much better because of the time spent looking. Good luck! Murphy's Law tends to work in your favor after publicly ranting about something not spawning. ^.^

In all seriousness, it's all about determination, and good'ole fashioned luck. Keep at it, and you'll get him eventually. And yes, King Krush is difficult to tame, even for the totally perpared. He fears, charges AND stomps, and he's immune to freezing. If you want to get him, you need to dedicate yourself to it just as much a Loque. You need some certain gems, potions and hopefully a friend or two to get him 'easily'.

One thing not mentioned here is the nice addon called NPCSCAN or something similar. It has been extremely helpful in letting me know when a rare has spawned. Takes away some of the staring at the screen to see if you can spot your target or using the target macro to check on each location. I went BM just to have a slot of exotics and chose to collect the rares because of the thrill in taming one when they are found. I got Skoll this way by just casually flying over his spawning points and the addon sent out the alarm that he was there. Loque I lucked into by the help of a friend spotting him. All my other rares I got using the addon.

Saved me literally hours when I got Arcturis and helped my friend Verrae get Loque. Get NPCscan.Use it. Love it. Never leave Dalaran without it.

King Krush is not an easy "drop freezing trap and hit tame" thing. He's the KING of Sholazar for a reason. He hits hard, he fears and he makes crowd control look like a mockery of his mad skillz. If you intend to go after him, you gotta be prepared ;D

As for Loque, I concur with the others that NPCSCAN will take the maddening hours out of your camping troubles. Long before my days of using the addon, it took me 3 years to find Araga, and a further year tacked on after that to finally get Old Cliff Jumper. With the addon, it takes the sheer amount of hours out of driving yourself insane flying around.

All I can say is, you're not unlucky. Over four days is normal. Going six months is borderline insanity. Going three to four years is obsession.
But that's what we are, we're hunters and the Wild Hunt calls us, no matter how long and how far it stretches =)

Well if it makes you feel any better I only have seen Krush once on my server. Ofc he was killed but the allys let me have a chance to tame, thankfully. At anyrate I doubt you'll have to wait that long but, if you can hold out until Cat or try during days when there should be less people on. IE the middle of a workweek/the afternoon or really, really late at night before a workday, are your best bets. They aren't for sure fire ways tho as I stumbled onto Krush and Gondria at peak hours so to speak but.

The only other thing I can suggest (apart from what everyone has said about patience and rarespawn addons) is find something else worthwhile that you can also do in sholazar. It can make the tedium less boring.

Miner? Just grind saronite and titanium. Sell it at crazy prices, or use it for bs/jc/engineering to make OTHER things to sell at crazy prices. Skinning/leatherworking? Grind leather while you circle! A lot of beasts in the basin drop nice skins, like icy dragonscales and arctic furs. They sell well, or you can make expensive epic craftables for selling. Herbalist? Gather herbs, sell them, make gold.

Just give yourself something else to focus on, or focusing entirely on loque is going to burn you out and drive you mad.

LOL tbh it is hard but it took me like 3/4 weeks to get all 4 spirit beasts... Camping shit long hours.. waking up at retarded times and wasting 10k gold on price tags so that peopple would help me find em...

Skoll for me was pure luck, the exact spot i logged in he spawned 2/3 secs later...

The other 3 were a pain in the ass especially loque'nahak....

And you try taming 4 rare spawns on an over populated realm were theres usually a 200/300 man que....

But now im happy... I should have tittle of "Spirit Beast Master"

I was just there skinning monkeys to save enough money for cold weather flying, I went up to the cliff over pitch and... there it was walking So some days you just get lucky. Don't give up hope!

Same, I got mine while doing skinning rounds to level the last 7 points of LWing. Wandered into a pack of dreadsabers and wondered for a moment why one of the kitties was white, not yellow. OHWAIT--!

The other reason I suggested preoccupying yourself with mat farming, it really does help pass the time and you might come across him by accident XD

So spending 3 days.. 36+ hours flying the circuit and planted on my keester by that porthole in Stormpeaks.

You know what I was after. Even Alliance were cheering me on and encouraging me. I recruited friends and strangers alike.

But the unthinkable happened.. at 4pm servertime, on Wyrmrest Accord, some idiot goes and kills it then is all like.. "O.o I forgot someone was looking for it.."

I was tired and grumpy so i farmed rep in Outlands with my friend, Jorgath. I headed back up to Stormpeaks and started my round again.

from K3, up the iceflow, along the creavice and as i topped the ice falls into Bor's Breath... THERE HE WAS!
I was screaming. Cheering in Vent and with much excitement and glee I tamed SKOLL!

Renamed Aoife, means life in Gaelic.

Today I was doing my elders on my mage and I wondered if a rare was stalking in zul'drak so I searched a little and happened to find Gondria. As I have Loq myself after a few months of searching (I still feel like I hold the recored for looking) I decided to open up /who hunters between 77 and 80. I recognized one name as a tamed pet collector and as soon as they made it over they got their new kitty.

If it wasn't a spirit beast, I probably would have killed it. >>
