Petopians EU Question

Unread post by Mozag »

Hello everyone, and sorry if I should have posted this somewhere else, but I am in need of some advice.

From what I have understood from these forums, Petopians EU is situated on the Tarren Mill Server (PvP, right?) and Horde on the normal realm Bloodhoof. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Secondly, I read in a post here that Horde side is more active, but after a quick check on the WoW pages, I noticed that Alliance side are rank 2, whereas Horde are not. This would seem to indicate that Alliance are at least currently more active.

The reason I am probing into all this is that I have been wanting to join the Petopians guild for a while now. However, all my characters are on Ravenholdt and The Sha'Tar, besides which I already have 6 Hunters, who I do not intend to realm change for various reasons. But there's always room for one more Hunter, so I am now torn between the factions. If someone here could give me an idea of which side of the guild you would more warmly recommend, I'd be extremely grateful and would be able to go ahead and make the plunge!

I tried to send you a message but i guess you didn't see it, feel free to react to it or not, i can help out, with at least the horde, side there probably is someone online on the alliance side as some have their mains there, hence it being further in level and all. :). As to which side is more warmly, i can't make a choice as both sides are nice, i guess it depends on if you want to play on a pvp or not.

Thanks for your response, Ardawen!

I have zero interest in PvP, which is a really big downer regarding the Tarren Mill realm, but I'm used to the pointless ganking, as I play most of my Hordes on Ravenholdt (RPPVP), which is a server my husband foolishly chose for his main and has stuck with. I made characters there to play with him, but I feel intense relief whenever I move to my beloved Sha'Tar (RP) where I play mainly Alliance (though I have two Hordies there too). Still, to make the choice easier, I have made characters on both Alliance and Horde on their respective servers. So far no Petopians have been online, but I'll throw someone a whisper when I see one.

I've already bonded with my Tauren Hunter, and am toying with writing short stories regarding her tames, when the time comes. We'll see how I find the time. Now to think up a naming theme for the Draenei's pets!

For anyone interested, if either Sungrain (Tauren) or Ashanaa (Draenei) whisper you, that would be me begging my way into the guild. :)

The Horde side being more active was true at first, but with Cataclysm, I've been spending pretty much all my time with my Alliance toons on Tarren Mill. Seeing as both me and Sonnie have our mains on Tarren Mill while the Horde guild consists completely of alts, naturally the Alliance guild will progress a lot faster.

I haven't been online at all lately as I've been playing Assassin's Creed II for the past week and my game time decided to expire on Saturday. :P I should be online tonight, now that I'm actually out of the house and can grab a time card on my way.

Thanks for the reply, Golden. I'm glad you'll be able to return to the game again. :)

I did actually join the guild over the weekend, thanks to Congafury's invite, but yesterday, while suffering from a terrible cold, I decided that it was utterly pointless to have so many Hunters, since I was spending more time planning their pets than actually playing them! I deleted the three I could most do away with, and Gunhilde of the Petopians was one of them.

But, during a guild chat with Sonata, I came to understand that you guys are hoping to do some guild runs and the like, and since I'd still love to be involved, but can't bear to server change any of my Hunters (I really love my Alliance server!), I was wondering if you needed the services of a healer?

I've been wanting to try out all healing specs, and I'm still missing a Holy Priest, so I would be glad to create one, and join you in that capacity, should you have the need. Let me know if this sounds like a good idea!

Well we can never have too many healers. ^^ I only just finished leveling my Holy Priest and Sonnie's planning on gearing her Druid for healing, but it's always nice to have more people capable of taking a specific role so someone isn't stuck healing or tanking forever. At the moment we don't have a single tank at 85 - I'm slowly leveling my Prot Pally who's 70 at the moment and Makkie has his (level 66?) Blood DK, but it'll probably be a while before those two will reach Cataclysm content.

Well, in that case, I'll make a healer, and a warrior tank. Bear in mind that I have never, ever tanked anything in my life, so the process will be long and painful, but I've been wanting to give it a go anyway, so this might be the perfect opportunity to do it. As for Cataclysm content, no, I don't think they'll be there right away either, since I am juggling many, many characters, and taking care of a young family at the same time. But lowbie runs of dungeons count towards guild xp too, thankfully! :)

I'll make the characters at some stage this week, and throw someone a whisper when they're online.

Hehe no worries, my Paladin is my first serious attempt at tanking stuff, too - it's amazing how fast you get the hang of it if you do it right from the start. ^^

Leveling as a tank is a great way of learning how to. The more you tank, the more you get to know the instances and your character.

Thanks guys, I started a Gnome Warrior today and was kindly invited by Makkie, but I didn't have the energy (still feverish) to play her much yet. Couldn't resist the game though, and just got my Worgen Priest invited. Enjoying the startting area quests for a third time, and they're just as amazing as ever. :D

I hope you enjoy your stay with us!
If some of our Horde bother you we can just come and one shot them a couple of times. Hate doing that but sometimes the lower levelers just don't get the "Leave me alone already" unless you kill them.

I recommend Saffies paladin as a guardian, her dwarf is like a juggernaut! She kept my little shammy safe from a evil paladin.

Heheh, thanks a lot. :) I am luckily more used to PvP servers now, since I made my Hordes on one, like I mentioned earlier, because of my husband's initial bad choice of realm. Yes, there's ganking, but as long as I just look at it "philosophically", and continue to get up and do my thing, eventually the gankers seem to leave me alone (I never retaliate, at all, and on Hunters quickly put my pet on passive). I suppose it must get boring for them too.

I suppose, just as people who roll on RP servers should respect naming rules and such, I should at the very least understand that people who play on a PvP server most likely enjoy world PvP. I can't give them the pleasure of a good fight (I'm embarrassingly bad), but I can give them the satisfaction of an easy kill. Again, and again, and again.

I've said it before and I say it again... Prot Pallies are OP! While I may be ok at pvp on my Hunter, on any other class I suck bigtime.

But Sonnie is right though - if you're ever having problem with ganking Horde, just let me know and I'll fly over to act as a personal bodyguard for a while. ;)
