Those WoW sounds you love
What is your favorite sound(s) that you can find while playing WoW? =D
I honestly love the nice sizzle-pop sound you get from cooking.
There's also no better sound than when my NPCscan picks up a rare as I fly around (the resulting elevated pulse is tolerable). xD

I'll have to think on it a bit more later, but for right now I did want to say that the most amusing sound for me is the male human aggro noise. Especially in groups. xD

I agree on the cooking noises, they're very relaxing
I fell in love with the music that plays in Howling Fjord/Grizzly Hills...I always turn iTunes off when I enter those zones
Blood elf jokes/death noises/getting hit/hitting noises always make me giggle.

You mean his "IpaintmyfacewithyourBLOOOD!" yell?Vicario wrote:Whatever sound plays when Ingvar the Plunderer roars. I can't find the damn sound file for it, and I want one of my character's rage sequences to sound like a brass instrument.
I can't think of any specific WoW sounds that "do it" for me, but rather then entire sound tapestry of WoW is so encompassing and comfortable, and I literally find it envelops me like a familiar blanket.
Though the city music of Orgrimmar feels like home, and the city music of Thunder Bluff is so peaceful and welcoming to hear when flying in.
As for little sounds, the sound of the skinning knife has been with me for so long it's part of my character, and the splashes of water against the ambient sounds and music of Grizzly Hills when fishing is like a holiday away.
Re: Those WoW sounds you love
Or, if you have a book-type offhand (or book of glyph mastery), I really like the noise it makes when you pick it up/put it down in your inventory.
I also agree with Saturo and the boomkin noises.. they're just awesome.
edit: Oh, forgot to mention the leatherworking noise. That's a good one.

I also like the sound mini pets make (the ones that make sounds anyway). I find them freaking cute. <3

Re: Those WoW sounds you love
I adore the music on Yojamba Isle. If you're not sure where I'm talking about, it's the small island in Northern Stranglethorn home to the Zandalar Trolls. It has it's own music, completely unique and not heard anywhere else in game.
For some reason I really enjoy the sound of just opening and closing your backpack/bags. It's a nifty sound.
I love the galloping sound of horse hooves in game (my Forsaken Warhorse, but I assume all horses have the same sound), it's always relaxing to be running down a road and having that clop, clop, clop sound. ^^
Baby Crocolisk noises....omgcute!
The Bestial Wrath noise is always exciting...gets you pumped up.
The continuous, soothing sound effect of my Core Hound. It's like being beside a fireplace, I find the noise relaxing.
And I'm sure zillions more... xD

I also like the music in Mulgore, and Thunder Bluff, but I ADORE any music that has to do with the Blood Elves. The music is just so beautiful.
Also like the cooking sound... And the Jewelcrafting sound too. It just sounds so crisp.

I like the Kill Command noise too. It sounds like DOOM, which is what it is, since I just gave my pet full rights to go postal.
And Veph, I totally agree with you on the gallop-hoof noises. Though, I also like that the noises change depending on stone, sand, snow...it's a nice touch

Re: Those WoW sounds you love
I love the noises my mounts' feet make, the quick padding of a hawkstrider, the softer footfalls of a wolf, or the slightly heavier tread of a bear. I love the sound of hoof-beats, my undead horses are a favorite of mine, and talbuk hoof-beats sound good over any terrain. The flap of a windrider's wings is a good thing to my ears and the sound of them running is pretty nifty.
On the alliance side, yeah, horses do sound very similar and those saber mounts are very soft on their feet. I got my Night Elf huntress on Zangarmarsh exlated with Stormwind just for the horses. Rams are a favorite mount of mine on that side and the thud of their hooves and noise they make when you hit the space bar is almost silly. Nothing about that sound inspires fear in a foe, yet those horns though...
The hollow-ness of a spirit-beast's voice is something I adore. I love a warp stalker's noises, the hissing of its attack. I love when a wolf of mine howls, it is usually a surprise and often well timed. Hyenas sent into the attack trill their sheer joy. But my favorite pet sound is the roar/yawn/shake combo of the really big cats, y'know, the Winterspring Frostsabers and Dreadsabers. You can hear the roaring yawn and then the noise they make as they shake their heads, that kinda slobbery noise, heh, yeah, love that. It just emphasizes the "big-ness" of a cat of that type.
Lastly, I adore the sound of a bow. I can hear the string twang so well I can almost feel the smack of the string on my armguard. I can almost hear the hiss of the arrow in flight and the *thuck* it makes on contact, oh that is pure bliss to this real-life archer.

The music in WoW is absolutely one of my favourite aspects. I know a lot of people play with the sound off, or have their own music, but I always play the game with its original audio.Sochi wrote:Hearing you all speak of the music, I'll have to give a proper listen. Re: Those WoW sounds you love
Yah, some of the music is repetitive, but I do like a lot of the tracks. There is some lovely stuff in HF/Grizzly Hills, has this old celtic feel. Storm Peaks has some gorgeous music too. And most troll places have excellent musicVephriel wrote:The music in WoW is absolutely one of my favourite aspects. (Howling Fjord is a top favourite)
