I remember seeing this pet a while back, shame it's no longer a rare now, the model i mean. Also what's the title pride lord mean if anything? Is he special or is it just an indication that hes not just a random cat?

Eh, doesn't really mean anything, just part of his name. There are others with such "titles", like Olm the Wise, Snort the Heckler, Aspatha the Broodmother, etc. :)

Even if Humar is no longer unique, he is still at least the only way to get a black lion before level 76(?). So at the very least, you'll be unique for 50-something levels! Not to mention he is a gorgeous lion and worth the tame, if you like his appearance.

I personally have never seen him in the wild in all my years of playing. Granted, I haven't seriously looked for him, but I've passed his spawn point(s) many times passing through and haven't seen him.

pride lord

a group of lions is called a pride, as you can see Humar has several lionesses and cubs around him. he is the lord of the pride.

I snagged this bad boy recently on Aloicious, and actually remember killing him (I know, I know, but he attacked first!) on Kurasu way back in the day. I almost never saw him back in TBC days, except as a hunter pet and then I saw him *EVERYWHERE*. Nowadays, I see him up fairly frequently, but I only rarely see him as a hunter pet any more.

I saw Dishu in a similar pose, when I was on with my rogue. Maybe it's something to do with the Barrens that's making all the kitties sleepy?

I've seen Humar sleep long before Cata came out. He has different poses just like Dishu does. If you watch him for a while you will see him get up and move and then lay back down. I've seen him like this for years. So it's nothing new.
And he is still considered a rare. I just think that his Elite status was removed from him post Cata launch. I may have to camp him and try and verify that unless someone else knows. But yes ................ good ol Humar is still a rare.

No, I can definitely confirm that he's still an elite on live. I just captured him with Aloicious. In addition, the hydra outside Wailing Caverns, and the elite centaur lord, are both still elite, so is King Mosh (who still has his 60k HP on live), and I would wager Takk is as well (although I've yet to find him). However, it'll be going away in 4.0.6, as will the elite statuses of all of the other rare elites in Vanilla-world.

I camped him for a week when I hit level 23. I wanted him so bad. I loved when I got him, his little tag showed he was an elite even after taming. He got a lot of attention.

He's currently my raid pet. He's BEAST. <3
