Daggercap Hawk

Add to that the seagull and the undead hawk, plus all eagles.

And the latter really bugs me. The models are gorgeous. I want one, or several. But... eagles should soar. :(

A fix would be really, really awesome.

Think ive said it before but this is what i want
-Pet shark. Id be forever happy. Oh, and the serpentine eels.
-Manavyrms beeing tameable. They COULD be put in the windserpent family but they really should have their own.
-The snakelike dragonkins in northrend. I know they are marked as dragonkin but they seem to be very lesser dragonkins at that, maybe put em and Manawyrms togheter?
-The marsh stalkers. New family or put into the sporebat family and rename it to something else.
-Stags. However i see an issue. That would mean we could tame the doe`s also. And they rather run than fight.
-The new Raven model to be tameable.
-Fix of the bird of prey animation...cmon..their draging their tailfeathers in the ground! fix that!
-Bassilisks. They could be put in with crocs if more pet families seem like a pain.
-The peterrordaxes! Cmon, we can tame devilsaurs but not these guys?!

While this feature of the Grimtotem Spirit Guide wasn't exactly intended... - it will still be possible in future for everyone who wishes to tame this NPC to do so

Kurasu wrote:This is one of the first things I checked with 4.0.6, actually. And I've been thinking the same thing. The ID is still in-game, so the thing hasn't been reused. The model itself could easily be returned, either to Skettis or somewhere else. I know a lot of folks would love the idea. Getting it was rather like going on safari; it was a place that you didn't have to go at all, that many people didn't even know *existed*, and at the time, it was really quite dangerous (and still would be for those going at level). not to mention the tame itself was a bit dangerous, as he was a scary elite.

What pet-loving safari hunter wouldn't love that back? :) I know I'd love it!
I really appreciate that Hawkbane was one of the first things you checked, Kurasu. I've never missed a pet as badly as I miss him. Seeing him back in that little out of the way area of Skettis would be awesome, but I wouldn't mind if they ended up plonking him back in somewhere else, just as long as he was brought back. Since he was removed so quickly, I don't even know if he was a difficult tame or not like Gezzarak was, and it's something else I've always wondered about since early BC as well. I would clear out a stable slot just for Hawkbane if he ever makes a return, that's how much I want that cat.

It would have been interesting if they had brought back Hawkbane with the white riding tiger model, leaving Rak'shiri blue for those who had her previously, and having him as a unique rare up in Terokkar.

Yeah, it would have since that model is absolutely beautiful and it would've been fitting for such an elusive cat like him. Its been bothering me why they went and took him out in the first place like they did since there was no clear explanation behind that action, none that I can recall anyway. It really broke my heart since I'd been so dead set on taming him. I know I have my Uldum tiger, and I love her dearly, but she's not the same. She's not Hawkbane. I won't stop hoping that one day he'll make a comeback.

I would be happy if another pet family got a "Ravage" skill (the increased physical damage debuff). I love that we have a choice between a couple of families if we want a pet buff, but Ravagers are the only family with a Ravage skill. There's three families that do spell interrupts, maybe give one of them a Ravage-like ability. I would vote for Nether Rays, since they have the big scary teeth.

Anyways... my $0.02.

They redid the bat model for WotLK, getting rid of the glaring failures that are on current bat models... and didn't make a tamable bat with this model for hunters who can't stand the hideous bat models from vanilla WoW? Sheesh, I don't care if it's supposed to be a gargoyle and not a bat; it looks more like a bat than the actual bat model does, and the quality difference is huge (Some people aren't taming bats just because their model is so poorly done). I don't care if we would be taming a look-alike of an unholy death knight's gargoyle; that didn't preclude hunters from getting cats with the much better riding cat model, or the riding wolf model for that matter (heck, we can tame an exact replica of one of the riding wolves; armor, saddle, and all).

Odd how I never noticed this until you pointed it out. Now, I really, really want a gargoyle-model bat for a pet!

I'm not sure if they revamped the gargoyle for WotLK, that looks like the same one that's been around since Vanilla. I could be wrong, but either way it would be kinda neat to have a tameable one I suppose, though their bodies are a bit too humanoid for my tastes.

You know what I'd like to see? I'd like to see more of the Un'Goro dinosaurs become tamable. This may have been stated already..
But seriously! The place is like a Hunter's playground and yet barely anything out there is tamable. More prehistoric partners, Blizz!

May as well contribute to this thread. :D

I've thought long and hard about what I'd really love to see, and I think I can narrow it down to a few things.

1.) More tameable mount models. I'm not talking horses or wyverns or drakes, but things like hawkstriders, worgs, riding raptors, sabers and so on. I'm pretty sure nearly every hunter has seen the armored worgs in Hellfire Ramparts, and I can't be the only one who tamed one to match my mount. I'm still on the fence as to if things like the Raven Lord should be tameable, but considering the model has been reused in Cata content it's not too crazy of an idea.

2.) Sexy models that aren't spirit beasts and/or heavily camped rares. Hold on, hold on, let me get my riot shield. I'm not saying make Loque's skin a common mob or that Terrorpene shouldn't be rare, but I think that it would be fabulous to have more of these 'unique' skins running around on new mobs. Spectral critters who aren't spirit beasts(like Olm) or things like flaming worgs or a modified skin who aren't going to take people months to camp and fight tooth and nail over. While the common pet skins we have are great(seriously!) they don't really match up to par with Sambas and his buddies. I know everyone has 'special snowflake syndrome' and want to be the only hunter with x or the only one on their server with y, but would it kill us to have Skoll-style bears or a Terrorpene-style ravager who didn't require years of rare-camping? Would it hurt us that much?

I'd like a common spirit beast just so folks who are on crowded servers/with heavy RL obligation can get a rare beast without relying on luck, fighting griefers, dodging competition or parking their butt for hours and hours.

I don't know about this, but I did ask if they could adapt one of the stonier gargoyle skins (there's a couple that look like actual stone) to make a proper stone bat skin for the ones in Deepholm. I know that's not giving you a new model, but it'd look cool and fit the zone. Besides, I kinda like the bat model.

This has been mentioned before to a degree but..

Regular snake models (like in Tanaris and Uldum)

and The Undead Snake and Raptor models (especially good for undead hunters)

Agreed. It's the buff that im required to bring to raid, and i do not like the Ravager model whatsoever.

No word on that one, or any of the other gemstone models, I'm afraid :) It'd be cool to see some in, and both Deepholm and Uldum are perfect zones for stone cats.

Again, not yet, but I don't think they have any new families planned for the near future that I've heard any rumours of (which of course means very little ;) ). Hopefully some time during Cata, though! At least there are now only two skins of hydra left that are missing from the game, the Azeroth bronze and the green, and hopefully we'll see both again before (and if ever) they become tameable.
