Seems that in the start of phase 2 the hunter Fd's so the whelps return to their pits and the big adds also return. Second time the hunter uses freezing trap/explosive trap and serpent spread.

Mainly the whelp spawns--WAS he using serpent spread/expl trap + 2pcT5, or what? I'm really curious, as I'd love to give it another shot. Not really sure I want to spec Surv for it but meh.

hmm, nice, just watched it.

place turtle in the normal tank spot, at the very back of the cave.

p2, keep turtle in that spot, run to the mid, dpsing ony, when whelps fly out towards you, FD, then fly back to cave. dps ony.

whelps fly out again, md to turtle. glyph of mending for extra heals, but his turtle's hp didnt drop much when taking on all the whelps. actually tanked them for quite a while.

when the larger adds come out run towards them and FD and they run back to the entrance tunnel.

looks like cobra shot on ony then multi shot whelps, repeat till p3

finish whelps, then down ony.



took a closer look at the vid again.
SV spec with spirit bond, prob heroic LCoTV (1st boss) spear, Dragonheart Piercer, some kind of dress lol, yes, not leggings, but a dress (greenish color with a yellow/gold strip at the bottom and another strip around the mid/knee area). maybe something with Spellpower for mend pet?? couldnt get a good look at the helm even at 720 hd. hunter had 115K hp, so prob some pvp gear. even with almost all blue pvp gear im only at 113K hp.

yes, i'm wanting to solo ony10 for the mount. i already solo'ed the stonecore mount and have been running H UP (blue proto drake) and H SH (Raven Mount). currently have around 110 mounts.

The dress is just a decoy, i think he used an orb of deception or something similar, coz he's not a female undead hunter but an orc male.

i'm alliance, so dont know what type of disguise he's using to turn into an undead female with a dress. i dont think the orbs will change your armor/clothing, i can only think of deviate delights atm, that will change your overall look.

That'll be the hat--Faded Wizard Hat. You don't need to keep it on to keep the effect.

So Feigning Death despawns the first (massive!) whelp pack?? Or do they come back out again a moment later? I'm wondering if BM hunters can do this, if they do despawn. Otherwise you probably do need serpent spread.

I'd thought the first pack was massively huge. Does anyone know if he's using the 2 piece t5 for the bonus or not?

i looked at the screen shots of the faded wizards hat on wowhead, the pics dont show a definitive clothing/armor change to the character, just the race/sex. still doesnt explain the dress he's wearing.

i'm gonna try a mix of my raid/pvp gear. and as SV, i have 2 points in serpents spread atm for magmaw adds, omnitron adds, maloriak adds, chogall adds, and the conclave adds.

not gonna keep swapping out glyphs every week for mending, trap launcher and frost trap glyphs are great for the add encounters i've mentioned above(except for conclave). and md glyph is too useful for soloing.

ill post again after i've tried again.

gave it 5 tries. used mostly pvp gear with a few raid items. seems like its the same pack of whelps when you fd, they just come back out a few seconds later.

keeping mend pet up all the time kept my turtle alive, but the healing aggro and the serp spread aggro was hard to get rid of even with a FD. my best attempt was prob 45sec into p2, killing maybe 2-3 whelps, getting most of the other ones to around 50%. whelp aggro/control seemed to be my biggest prob atm.

Nah, it changes your entire appearance, gear included--gives you a magelike dress as an UD. The buff is the right icon, too.

And the whelps are the bit I don't get; I wish I could see the vid : /

(P.S. As far as glyphs go, you don't need to buy them anymore--once you learn them, they're learned, and you can just swap between them with that new-version 10g vanishing powder stuff! )

Managed to 2 man her today to see if I could work on farming the mount. I wasn't going to try for a solo because I know I'm nowhere near as skilled or ambitious as the guy who managed it, and even with help it was still painful!

BTW I'm survival spec with ilvl 347.

Phase one, started with my pally tank tanking but Onyxia almost killed him so I decided I'd be taking over for phase three. Phase two, the pally grabbed all the whelps and my pet took the warder(s) -we ended up with 2 warders at a time due to my having to split damage between Onyxia and the adds. My pet died twice and the pally grabbed the adds and kited them until I could rez it and get it back in the fight. Phase three, the pally grabs all the remaining adds and runs them off to the side while the pet tanked Onyxia. It went fairly smoothly from there except a short interval where the pally ran out of mana and despite my 15 k heal ticks the pet was losing health fast. But thankfully we managed to down her in one try. Not sure if we'll try again any time soon.

That's an old guide, and probably for the old Ony as well. Easy to tell as soon as you look at the given spec. The spec is listed for 71 talent points...definitely not recent.

If you mean the video from which the SS was taken, he's using Cobra Shot in the SS. That wasn't released until well after Ony was leveled.

When I tried it (and you have to keep in mind worms' burrows now drop their aggro, leaving it on you), my worm didn't take the things past 1/2 hp before burrow ended. You could try it by popping all cds and alternating worm tanks & burrowers; if it works, let us know
