Duneclaw Stalker

Unread post by Scorngrain »

Forgive me if this has been covered already, but I noticed in the Pet listings that the Duneclaw stalked had a unique attribute to it, that it was stealthed but it lost it stealth on taming, So I decided to delve into it and try and get myself a stealthed one.

As luck would have it, I managed to get one finally, I wont torment you with my Trials and errors and Ill just skip to the success, I managed to tame it with the /Script Abandon macro. What I did was first just flat out tame a duneclaw, then dismiss it, then I layed down a frost trap, stepped back a couple yards and started up a tame, it got trapped in the frost trap and retained its buff, and when the tame completed I hit the macro, logged out and back in and PRESTO

This is not a permanent buff and will be lost upon death(Or entering combat), Its just a show pet.

Grats on your stealthy scorpid there. Shame the buff doesn't stay. :(

I've been meaning to try and grab Princess with her ribbon and one of the ghost wolves with that taming method, but I'm having trouble getting it down...is that all there is to it?

Yeah, I picked up the tip from another thread here, if you tame one, dismiss it(not abandon) and then tame a new one, you have a much better chance of succeeding, only thing is you don't have the luxury of spamming the macro, I just press it once when the tame is done.

Pardon me if I'm wrong here, but doesn't Blizz frown on the whole tameing pets with appearance buffs and such? Just a warning to be careful, I know it's been a touch and go subject.

But, other than that, nifty! It's always fun to have a pet with uniquness

We've actually gotten an official response here that these kind of tames are okay.

ive found that if u dismiss a pet before actually starting the process rather than going and just taming, it seems to work better
