Diseased Wolf in Black Temple?

They don't have a buff, but they have a putred green mist. Anybody try and tame these? Dissapointed I didn't see these things when the tame/release thing was going.

...and also... how far into BT are these guys? And do you remember their names?

I can't find any info on any NPC/Beast inside the raid.

The mobs themselves are called 'Mutant War Hounds' if I remember right. They travel in packs with other trash in the big room before the Reliquary of Souls. I don't know if they're tameable or how difficult it would be to tame one, but they're pretty huge.

Figures, the one dungeon that's impossible for me and Ghostcrawler to solo. You have to kill the first boss to go check out those wolves I think.

I have a BT run coming up this weekend, so I'll throw a Beast Lore at 'em if you'd like me to. I don't know if I can convince the other guys to let me snag one to tame, but I'll do my best.

I faintly remember last time I ran BT on my hunter.. that they were not tameable. I could be wrong. I haven't been to BT in a while now.

I'll see if I can get into a BT run and then maybe wait for the trash to respawn to try it out.

If it does have a green poison cloud around it, you'll need to tame two of them and use the macro on the second one for him to keep his mist.

Were they even categorized as Beasts? For some reason I thought they weren't, but it's been a long time for me as well.

Sorry for the sort of 'bump' but while looking for something else I saw this thread and decided to reply since I found the "Mutant War Hound" on WoWhead.

By WoWhead they're classified as beasts and use this skin:

The animal uses Cloud of Disease which is a damage buff but by what WoWhead says it also has Disease Cloud which is an appearance buff. Unknown if tamable.
