The Hunt for Skoll
The Hunt for Skoll
((I've had the idea of a journal written by my hunter for a while. Never got it started and finally did it tonight. It took me a month of long, insane searching to find my Skoll. And yes, I did have a prairie dog out for most of the hunting. >.>; Enjoy the descent into madness. xD Technically, thanks to those of you who wrote up a journal of some sorts. Finally gave me the motivation to make this.))
The leather bound journal sits innocently by itself in the snow. Unnoticed. You yourself would’ve never picked it up if it weren’t for the arrow sticking out of the snow, like a glaring neon sign, proclaiming, “Oi! Look at me! Yoo-hoo!” You pick it up, thumb through it thoughtfully, and remount your gryphon, who gives a quiet chirp. You read the first few pages, and finally decide to make camp there.
Day One, Week One
My name is Nalrania “Firewing” Silverhawke. I’m penning this journal for anyone who may pick it up in the future. In it is maps, pictures, and my tale of a hunt for an elusive creature they call Skoll. Judging by what the goblins in K3 say, he had quite a few hunting spots. I’ve chosen this one. It seems to be his favorite.
Day Three, Week One
More info on this beast. He looks like a regular wolf, except his fur is frost blue and lightning covers his hide. I don’t believe it, really. I’ve seen all sorts of weird creatures, but this sounds impossible. Anyways, it’s cold. Tal is my only company, when he’s not calling me an idiot for picking up this hunt. Beside my ornery red drake companion, the only creatures out here are beasts called proto drakes.
Day Six, Week One
No sign. Talastrasz and I have looped around his other hunting spots plenty of times. We’ve seen other adventurers, and I can’t help but wonder if the wolf was real and they killed him. Still really cold. Still a lot of dragons.
Day Two, Week Two
Talastrasz had to go back to Wyrmrest. Just me now.
Day Seven, Week Two
It’s really cold, and I haven’t seen hide nor hair of this wolf. It’s starting to get to me, really. I swear, I keep hearing howls. Or growling. Or even Azunara’s childish little giggles, and her offering me a cookie. I managed to tear a few icethorns out of the ground for her. They’re mangled. I don’t think she can use them.
Day Four, Week Three
A prairie dog laughed at me.
Day Five, Week Three
Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold. Dragons. Cold. Cold. Cold. Cold. Paladin. Cold. Cold. Cold. Freezing. Cold. Ice. Chilly. Cold. Shaman. Cold. Cold. Cold.
Cold. Cold.
Day Seven, Week Three
Talastrasz came back. He says I should return to Dalaran to warm up. I told him I couldn’t. Not while He was still out there.
I think I hear whispers at night. Telling me to betray my friends. Have I finally gone insane? The prairie dog sat by my fire tonight. He was good company to talk too, even if he just stared at me.
Day Two, Week Four
I saw tracks. They’re just from a nearby wolf pack.
Day Seven, Week Four
Low on supplies. I should go back. But I can't. Not after this long. The voice is a lot louder now. Telling me to give in. It's giving me the creeps, really. I miss civilization. I miss Azu, too, even if she's annoying and gets in all sorts of trouble. I think I may die out here, at this rate.
I can't let the wilds win...
Day Three, Week Five
I found it! I found the wolf! Skoll! Talastrasz and I were on a loop, and I told him to follow that prairie dog that had pestered me for the last few days. We had been flying above it when I heard that eerie howl. He was down there, the lightning wolf. It tried to rip me apart, but somehow I survived. I’d like to think it’s fate. Divine intervention. Something. I’m getting out of here.
The rest of the journal is filled with pictures of multiple things. The stalker drakes, the prairie dog, the lightning wolf, maps, and all various things. You return the journal to the snow, propping up the arrow. As you bank your fire and mount your gryphon, you swear you can hear a wolf howl somewhere.

Nice! Poor Fire. xD
I really need to write something like this some day. Maybe my camp for Terrorpene? Or for Madexx? Maybe Aotona, that'd be an interesting one.
Anyway, quite amusing. Poor girl was going wacky.

*over-analyzed this in a semi-scary manner.*
Yeah. By the time she went in her downward spiral was when I started to lose it too. Just going around. And around. And around. And around. Over and over. Every other player scared me.
The best part is I didn't like Skoll, in the end, got rid of him a few months later. >.<;

Ouch. >.<
I love my Skoll. Then again, who wouldn't love my adorable little Faron? *Hugs* *Gets zapped by a disgruntled cult-wolf*

Hehe.
*thinks Faron is awesome from afar. And hiding behind Kozri, who blinks and looks at her.*

Very nice Azu. I got a chuckle because I know the feeling of going crazy when looking for a rare.
