Reduced Rare Spawn timers? Is this true?

Saw someone in another thread mention that rare spawn timers were lowered. Is this confirmed?

The old world rares should all be on shorter spawn timers now, they also drop better loot and garner a good amount of xp.

Quests & Creatures
•Many rare creatures that went into hiding upon Deathwing’s emergence into Azeroth have made a return! In addition to finding new homes in a post-Cataclysm world, they drop new, improved loot, provide a healthy experience bonus, and respawn much more quickly when killed. Happy hunting!

note that it says "when killed" and not "when killed OR tamed".....i know there was some discussion before about different spawn timers for certain rares based on whether or not they are tamed or killed, do you think they mean both?

The games I've worked on only really knew about 'mob is no longer tied to the generator' and re-gen'd based on that. So I'd be surprised if it differed by taming vs. kill. However, I have never worked on WoW so I could very well be wrong.

Oh that would be so Blizz if they decided to lengthen the spawn timer of rares if they were tamed instead of killed ... but only time will tell.

The PTR seemed to be about the same with the tame timers as it should have been for kills.

Not a confirmation, just an observation.
