WOW, olm sure get popular with sexy skin, i tamed it today bout 30 mins ago on Underbog server. got him on first patrol. no stress at all. for some reason i had to add olms ID number to NPC scan. so watch out and make sure u have NPC trackin him.
i named him "Articuno", yes its from pokemon lol i also named my ghost saber "Meowth" lol

ID is 14343 for Olm. got it from someone who fortunately posted it on his/her comment in thottbot. (its good idea to read the posts)

found him just after The Rezza. He was slowly flying down his lowest spawnpoint as marked on WoWhead.

I just managed to tame Olm on Mok'Nathal, 7:09 ST at the same place Kormai did.

So glad to have that done and out of the way! M'N is such a quiet server, and yet there were three other Hunters in the area checking in for our wise, spirit-y friend.

Just got my Olm at 7:09 server time

He was just south of where I was sitting. I didn't know the exact spawn location so I was sitting just about where I thought he would spawn; I went to go look for Death Howl/Mongress when my NPCscan went off and there he was.

Just tamed.

Still camping. 5 hours non stop and counting... *Yawns and lays head on desk* So far all I've seen is one extremely rude hunter. *Sigh* Why can't some people just be nice to others? Yet another addition to my ignore list...

Confirmed 7 hour spawn time for my tame. Arrived a few moments after another hunter on my server tamed and I continously circled his spawn locations for 7 hours non stop. He appeared right in front of me right at the 7 hour mark. Hope this helps for spawn time! Best of luck!

Just got him on Gypsi, so now I am done hunting the new patch pets.

Wanted him on Shade as she is my main toon and I adore the model.

After I got him I was sad, as I'm not spending much time on Shade these days-instead I've been leveling Gypsi with my freind who is suddenly hooked on her druid that she made when I made Gypsi. Gypsi hit 56, and with the patch I went and got the new hunched gem-ish kitty, Deathmaw and Old Cliff Jumper.

But I wanted to play with my Olm, and my friend really wants to play her druid, so I wouldn't be playing on Shade till we level this set of toons to 85. So yeah, was snowed in this morning and started to camp Olm again, this time on Gypsi. Was alone but for the last hour or so of my camp-a level 85 hunter. She got pulled into an instance however, and Olm spawned about 15 mins later-in the spawn point that I had been watching (instead of the one that she'd told me was his spawn point). So I got him, and let her know the time and spawn point he was at. Felt a little sorry for her-but I'd been camping long enough today that I won't let it get me down.

Congrats to those who've found this pretty, and good luck to the other Olm hunters out there!

A quick question about Olm, does he "sound" like other owls? For some reason I love my seagull but my parrot's screech just makes me want to muzzle the darn thing. Thinking I should tame an ordinary owl first to see how the noise level is for me if that is the noise Olm makes. ~ Obi

I was fortunate enough to tame him this morning. I was really excited when the NPC scan pinged... but I felt a little under-whelmed afterward. From his picture on Petopia he looks amazing and spectral like Karoma or the spectral tiger mount. In reality he seems more translucent/ghostly with a green/purple tinge--granted I know spectral and ghostly are synonyms however I've always thought of spectral as "crisp" and transparent while ghostly as more "misty" and translucent if that makes any sense.





I added some photos to sort of elaborate on my point. The 2nd two photos are more of what I would consider "spectral" and the first looks more "ghostly/shadow" to me (almost like a normal owl in stealth).

I flew out to his spawn point to camp for the night, with my friends laughing at me because I'm always on my "Last Pet". NPC Scan went off and there he was. I am once again, done. He is A LOT quieter than the parrot, I think the pretty blue bird's days are numbered. ~ K

Got Olm on the saurfang realm 9.25 pm server time just logged on and he spawned in front of me, top spawn point yay

Bleh camping 2 days now. First time I saw him, he just got tamed.

I checked back after 5 hours, then 7, and nothing. I went to bed since it was late. Now I got up, NOONE in the zone but me, and he's still not here.


I might pull off a whole day on this. Btw thank you all, again, for posting the locations, really helps me

I've had much company during my wait. A dwarf hunter who is sitting in a non-spawn location, a worgen that comes and goes, and other random people flying by. Had a Tauren hunter wish me luck as he stopped by to see "if owl up", as he put it.

That Dwarf hunter was me (Actaeon). I saw you flying around and knew I would have competition. I flew by right after you tamed it, but my npcscan didn't go off (I had a wrong zone entry - duh me). I wasn't sure it was Olm at first, since its hard to tell at a distance. After you left, I realised it was Olm that you had, especially since I saw you feed it.

Anyhow, I used your tame as a reference and I went on the next day (the 9th) and camped that same spot I was at. Every 15 minutes, I would fly the spawn points. Olm popped up and I tamed it at around 1:15 server time. Had no competition at all for it, which was weird. Glad you are enjoying the owl as much as I am.

EDIT - lol, I just 'cheered' at you in Uldum, both having our Owls out.

Coming in this thread for some Olm luck. All I've seen so far is hunters , hunters, and more hunters. Most just stop and chat about what we may or may not know about him, but some are more interested in sitting on me in whatever spot I pick. Erf XP

So can we agree that he has at least a 5hr respawn? Does he spawn hard hours after he's been tamed/killed, i.e. if killed at 3:45 he'll spawn at 8:45 or 11:45 or whatever hour and :45, or thereabouts? My bf literally JUST missed him. He's really, really upset and I'm trying to get as much info as I can.
