Now I gotta camp the turtle too, darn it!!!
I went back 6 hrs after your tame, stayed for about an hour or so, no go >.<.
Another day, another day.
On the plus side, I now have the bomb daily for Jadefang
Yay, as of 2:30am, Terrorpene in Feathermoon has been tamed ^^. I have named him Bowser since I have always wanted to name him such ever since I first saw an image of him.
All that is left for new Cata rares I believe for me now is Madexx...preferably Red because the eyes are gorgeous. Though a blue or green would be alright since those are a couple of my favorite colours. I just like the reds eyes..I've never kept a scorpion pet before, he's really been the only one thats caught my eye. We'll see...we'll see...what color Madexx will have in store for me. But if it's one I don't like, I'll see what other hunters in the zone are looking for and let them have him instead.
I went to check for Madexx, figured I'd kill scorpids and skin them while leveling Bowser, which caught the attention of another hunter, they were polite, congratulated me. I felt bad, apparently they were out there 10 minutes prior to me (probably after I'd logged of Mearra to bring my druidess there to grab a few herbs while camping), she didn't see him, left...by then I'd swapped back. I'll let her know if I see him next time I'm out there fishing fires and herbing.
*I'm sorry that he's named Bowser, since recently I spotted it in someones Sig that their Terrorpene is named Bowser, but I assure you I decided to name him this when I tamed him far before I ever ever saw your sig. Think of it this way, we both have epic taste in names ^^.
Alright, after having camped Madexx for quite some time, and prior to that having watched Novi camping him, I've started to get a decent idea of some of the more likely times he'd be about.
So today I was reminded it was nearing 3 am, I should head to bed...to request I was about to comply with when my brain went "Log on Mearra, check for Madexx".
Voila, there he was, red and wonderful. So I dived down to tame...which...for some reason I couldn't find my tame button. Hmmmmm Survival Spec bars obviously are different than my BM ones, I usually tame while BM spec'd. I am ashamed, but yes, I ended up just typing /cast Tame Beast.
So now I have the Red Madexx, though after having seen another Petopians photo of the blue, I may have grown a bit more fond of it. We'll see...we'll see. If I happen uppon him as a Blue when my blue seeking friends aren't online, I shall tame him, if not, I will be content with my beautiful Red.
Besides....I have no more pet slots left .
Oh please Blizzard, give me more!
During the days of "No Petopia Forums", I was at a loss. So instead I spent time browsing through Petopias pet skins and found Olm, I decided....I wanted the spectral owl and headed out to Felwood.
Day 1: Two other hunters, one horde, one alliance were already camped, one at each prime spawn point. I sighed, went to do my V day dungeon and went to another toon.
Day 2 Check 1: No luck, more hunters, this time a troll was about as well.
Day 2 Check 2: After farming mats on other toons, being at a loss leveling my warrior seeing as she hit 84 and I am to level her with other friends of mine...and neither of them were on. I figured "Let's check for Olm before I head off to sleep". Alas, a dot...not where it should be...and BAM I have Olm.
My excitement was not shared by my fellows as I showed them "Hedwig".
Friend:"He just looks like any other owl" Me:"He's spectral!" Friend:"Meh, you have better pets." Me:".......to beat you with."(Lil Red Ridding Hood reference...anyone? Bah...)
Now there was a bit more to the conversation, particularly over my choice of name...but I will not go into details since some may not have seen the latest Harry Potter movie yet and I do not wish to spoil anything.
Of course having tamed Olm took up my last....very last spot for pets. But being a responsible raid member, even on toons that...aren't raiding, I knew I needed to tame a ravager. I have Wimple the Worm for BM, but I needed something for Survival. I couldn't bring myself to letting go of Wimple, my adorable blue worm from Maraudon. I sat there forever just thinking "...oh....should I? Look at that face..and the little wiggle when we walk. Oooo...I can't". Why I got attached to a pet I had no interest in when I first tamed it, I don't know...I don't know.
So what was another choice? I couldn't let go of any of my spirit beasts, no no. All that work for nothing? Releasing such beauties? No.
What about my cats? I have so many, white lion, black lion, sambas, blue tiger, purple tiger, and I love them all. I can't let them go....
All the others are either rare, have some buff I need, or some history. That just leaves.. Wimple and either Mokolé(King Krush) or Sobek (my black devilsaur with blue stripes and gorgeous blue eyes)...
I decided
As much as I love Sobek, having two Devilsaurs.....he had to go. It would be easier to get him back than King Krush again so...he was let go.
My next step *(although this isn't a rare, Olm was the rare of this post)* was to find a ravager I liked. The new ones were nice, but I like more contrast, as well as something I could see easily in raids (since the point of taming one was to have a raid viable pet if we needed the 4% physical dmg buff). I know it's an odd thing to think about , but I remember doing raids with Aries(Humar the Pridelord) and having a very difficult time knowing where he was, which always made me paranoid during raid time. I didn't want to be one of -those- hunters that always did accidental pulls either by tab targetting or their mischievious pet. So I've always prefered pets I could see fairly easily (another reason why Mokolé beat Sobek, not that a devilsaur would ever be hard to see).
I finally decided on of course, a trickier one to get. The Gore-Scythe Ravager, which meant I had to go to Blades Edge and wait til they spawned for an attack on the camp.
It only took a little while, now I'm sitting here wondering what to name it.
I used to have a colour changer in BC named Loki (since switching colours was trickery!), but I let him go when Cats/Wolves became top dps and I needed the stable slot. Now Loki is the name of my Karoma.....and I refuse to double up.
