OK...so I found Madexx again...but AGAIN he is brown. SO Im wondering..why is there still a brown Madexx if there are non rare brown Madexx models?

They should've really made him colour-changing =s It's a better compromise than having however-many different coloured spawns and when you FINALLY see him, you're utterly disappointed. Just my 2 copper =)

Um, no. I know how annoying it can be for people who don't like brown Madexx to get a colour they do like.. (Believe me, a friend of mine had this problem. The darn thing kept spawning in brown when he wanted anything but brown..), but removing it completely? Honestly, I don't care if you or almost everyone else don't like it.. Some people DO love brown Madexx. No offence, but.. To have it removed it just because it is giving you problems is a pretty selfish thing. Sure, there is a common mob.. But what about people who want a literal brown Madexx. As in, the actual rare, not JUST the skin/model? It wouldn't be fair to take that away from them and go 'Tame the common one!!!' when everyone else gets their favourite colour as a rare.

if they are different npc ids for each color, it seems like it would be a pretty simple matter to remove the brown id. seems monstrously insensitive to the people spending 50 hours out there waiting on their new pet to show up only to be greeted with that.

Just because I'm a rare collector, I too think they should either keep the brown color and change the color of the new mob... or... just remove brown Madexx. (but I would rather they do the first suggestion)

I think it would be alright to remove the brown madexx, although that might make some who want the rare regardless of color a bit sad. I guess I must be one of the few who doesn't mind commons sharing skins with rares, if only to spare people the pain and frustrating of camping - or being sad that they just aren't lucky.

How? Some people are rare collectors, some love the brown Madexx. I have one myself.. And honestly, if I hadn't gotten him before the new patch.. I STILL would have wanted him as Madexx. I don't want the common one. Why have the common brown one when you can have the rare version instead? I really see no reason to remove the brown colouration for Madexx.

The fact that there's a common version of the brown by no means justifies no longer having the rare one. By that logic, ALL rare spawns who have common colours should be changed. Of course, that'd probably never happen, due to the uproar it'd cause. Sure, the uproar of losing brown Madexx would be MUCH smaller than it would be for all rares with common colours.. But it would still be there. I know I'd make a fuss if it was changed.

That would cause a bigger uproar than you could imagine.

But I agree...brown should be removed or make Madexx not rare and spawn every 3 hours like a quest mob or something.

i really like color changers....it's not hard to dismiss and resummon two or three times until you have the color you want to stand around town with. it would be understandably annoying to do that every time you dismount/exit a loading screen/res, but it frees up so much space in your stables. i was ecstatic when i found the color changer fox from tol barad, because i could have both of my favorite color foxes as a two-for-one.

but that said, my Elvis will change colors over my hunter's cold dead space goat body. >:E

I for one wouldn't tame a common skin only because I love the thirll and excitement of finding rare spawns. As for removing the rare spawn only because it shares a skin with another creature is completely different. I don't think it should be removed. Rare spawns are typically named and therefore have their own personalities. I am a thrill seeker for the rares, I love finding them on other toons. But They share a common skin for a reason, Just they have a but more personality that the others.

But its not. Its the same skin...same zone...and only over the hill from the commons.

And as far as a common not being that good. This is how I see it. If you Like the skin. Tame it. Common or not. Many of my tames are not rares. I liked them. Shango. Black Boar. Black Bear...list goes on. I would not spend hours, days, weeks, camping a rare that looks like something I can just walk over and grab elsewhere.

Some skins..have a rare that is Much lower and is therefore cool to have..Humar as an example. I got him at lvl 23 and I still have him even though Pitch came out later. And if I didnt have him. Id tame Pitch. Black Lions rock.

For you, maybe. Honestly, I love common skins.. But in this case, I'd much rather have a brown Madexx than the common one. Why? I'm not sure myself.. I guess I just like the fact that it's Madexx and not the common one.

I get that some people (Heck, most) would gladly get the common one.. But me? I honestly couldn't care LESS that there's a common brown Madexx, I like the ACTUAL BROWN MADEXX. Like I stated before, if I hadn't gotten my Madexx before the newest patch, I STILL would have camped for him. I STILL would not have tamed the common one. I STILL would have driven myself crazy to try and find a brown Madexx.

And even though already tamed brown Madexxes would stay exactly the way they are if the brown colour was removed.. What about other people who have the same mindset as me but haven't tamed Madexx yet? What about them? It would not be fair to them to have to settle for the common one if they have their freakin' heart set on the rare. I'm sorry, but it seems kind of selfish to ignore people who would potentially be upset over it. I know for a fact there are people who are like me in that they wouldn't settle for the common one and would be upset over losing the brown Madexx.. So seriously people, try to make sure you think of people other than yourselves when suggesting something like this. Now, I'm not accusing anyone here of being selfish, really.. I'm just pointing out that most of the posts I'm seeing aren't very conscious of others, whether it be intentional or not.

If I'm reading this argument right, it's like King Mosh and a regular Tyrant Devilsaur. Sure, you can go and tame a plain old brown devilsaur. But why not when you can tame Mosh. Removing brown Madexx is like removing Mosh. Because after all, 30 ft away is that plain old brown devilsaur. Or Rak'shiri and Sian-Rotam. I could've gotten Sian's aqua skin. But I wanted Rak'shiri. I camped him. Having him turned black striped and forced to get crummy old Sian tore me to pieces. Utterly crushed me. I can't bring myself to play my hunter because that isn't MY Moonlight. He didn't face hordes of demons and undead with me. He's some newbie I picked up because Blizz messed with my poor kitty.

I never, ever, ever want someone to feel the way I did. Because it is a horrible, heart-wrenching feeling to know they are taking your pet and screwing with it. And then everyone tells you to go tame a new one, but you can't. Because that's not your pet.

That's the whole point of Madexx. I think it's a neat twist. With so many rares, you can just sit and voila-there it is at some point. But Madexx takes the luck element to the extreme.

So yeah. Leave as is.

I already stated this to your wish in the lurker thread, but I feel the need to state it again.

There are some people, like me, who are actually quite attached to their bronze/brown Maddexes. Believe me, I would be LIVID if my Fallout suddenly changed colors and turned into a stranger. And no, I wouldn't get the common one because /it wouldn't be the same/! The bond I have with Fallout would be shattered. GONE. I know I have Antares, my blue, but Fallout was the first Madexx I found and he came to me when I was having a very bad day, so it would kill me to lose my buddy. It makes me so upset to see so many people for this even though I know it's their own opinions, and I respect that, but still.. :/

I didn't think being a fan of bronze Madexx would be so hard. -_- I apologize if I sound angry, but this really upsets me, and I needed to get this off my chest..

The one thing is that Madexx can spawn in 4 different colors other then brown. So if your camping for your Madexx and all you find is brown it can be very heart breaking if your trying for a specific color or any color but brown and it pops in brown and that may be the only color you find for a long time. So I can understand the heart break with that.. as I have had it many times while looking for my green.. 2 browns.. but found one a home but the other was killed. While I can understand people who have brown Madexx want him to stay that way, as a wild brown madexx.. but..

The issue is Madexx is a 6-14 hour spawn.. and ive never really seen him spawn twice in a day except once and that was 14 hours later so his spawn timer is insane, hes on the busiest herbing/mining/skinning area and there is a dig site near there. As well there are more then a few quests there making it extremely popular.. plus big madexx isnt hard to spot. I know you can have the same arguement with Karoma and Sambas but the thing is.. I dont know how many times I would have flown over them if I didnt have SD and npcscanner and even when they do go off.. finding them isnt so easy in the forest and with how much smaller they are.. especially Sambas.

So right now its hour 8 for my guildies who are looking for Madexx. Heres hoping he spawns in black/red/blue/GREEN.

While I must say I do kind of know the feeling of that.. As I just about went insane trying to help a good friend of mine get a Madexx that was anything but brown.. (Heck, it's because I helped him look for Madexx that I found my brown one..) That still isn't a reason to have the colour removed. Sure it's frustrating for a bit.. But eventually you'll get one of the other colours. But what if the colour was removed? How do you think people who had their heart set on getting brown Madexx would feel? It'd wouldn't be just a short period of time of frustration.. Because the whole damn mob would be gone! I don't think losing bunch of people having a short period of frustration only to have a few people have their dreams sliced in two is a good trade. Sure, there's more people who have the problem of Madexx spawning in the wrong colour.. But they'll get it eventually. If the colour was removed.. People who wanted it badly would NEVER be able to get it. That isn't fair.

Also.. Anyone care to explain why the HECK almost everyone hates the brown colour? Brown Madexx is absolutely GORGEOUS in my opinion. I just don't see why so many people dislike it so much.
