And so, I soon found my way to Un'Goro, only to find that unlike the day before, when I had flown over and seen two of the buggers, there were no white ones in the whole darn area. I saw the black one, the brown one, and even ran into King Mosh (who found a home with a very nice Taurean hunter who apparently had been hunting for that exact one for a while) but not a white one to be found. And so, I calmly offed the ones wandering about, with the exception of Mosh, hoping a white one would spawn... and so one did!
At 85, the tame was easy, and one HS later, we were back in Orgrimar. I decided she was a lady and since she was a white devilsaur, she was named Pristine -- Prissy for short. Together we did the cooking daily, the fishing daily, and then took a trip to Deepholm and did the dailies there. I took a lovely screenshot of her preening proudly after defending us both valiantly throughout:

After that, Pris still was eager to play, and so we went and did my daily attempt to get the mount and phoenix pet from MgT, and we had a grand 20 minutes or so doing that-- no mount, no pet, but it was still fun! I logged after that, but Pris is standing there eager to see what we'll be doing tomorrow...
And now, answering some of the things I've seen mentioned in these reports:
- Model: I remember distinctly DISLIKING these critters when they were first made tamable; the stomping just plain got on my nerves. Hence, I never really LOOKED at them. I know, I know, they are huge lizards with sharp teeth and they should be really as terrifying as I found them back when I was a lower level questing in Un'Goro-- but so help me, Pris reminds me of nothing more than a huge great dane, bounding along at Arisia's side, wagging her tail happily and really LOVING working with her master! I keep hearing her saying "LOOK MOM! LOOK-- I ate him GOOD for you, didn't I? Huh? Huh? Do I get a treat now, huh?" ::giggling:: You just want to pat her on the head and give her a nice biiiiig bone!
- Skin: She is LOVELY; the shading of the white reminds me of mother of pearl, actually and the lavender, lilac and purple of her markings are striking and yet aren't gaudy. The white devilsaur always reminded me of marshmallow before, but now I think of violets or purple crocus in the snow.
- Animations: I really want her to wag her tail more, and maybe shake her head better, but the ones they've given her work for the RAR! Dinosaur! type. :
- Sound effects: Now that they do not stomp, I love them! The growling roar as she attacks reinforces the whole guard dog image to me, and her random RAWR!!! make me smile. It's one of those "Look at me! Look at me! I'm big and mean and going to eat you, yes I am -- so throw the ball, please mom? ThrowitThrowitThrowit!!!!!"
- Food requirements: She only needed to be fed at the start, and as you might think for a T-Rex, she likes meat. I've got her specced to basically self feed as she fights, and haven't had to toss her anything else today.
- Tanking ability: Pris held aggro nicely, and did good damage; I'm interested in seeing how she does at 85, to see if she ramps as she levels.
- Pet family abilities: I've found both Monstrous Bite and Terrifying Roar useful in my travels today; tomorrow we'll be killing all over the place, and I am going to enjoy watching my puppy-lizard ravage all sorts of people and critters!
And although I did not intend it... um, I'm keeping her. LOL She is just so darn sweet that I can't see releasing her!
I'd like to do this again--
Arisia
level 85
no instance pets and no bugs, please!
