Swarming Guardian - SUCCESS! :D

Unread post by Lisaara »

Gonna try tonight with my guild to nab one of these pretties. Any suggestions? All I got was this from WoWHead.
Magnakilro wrote:Auriaya summons them. Need to kill Flame Leviathen, XT-002 and Kologarn to reach her.

Now for the actual tame. When Auriaya is pulled...kill the Feral Sentries she pats with (they are untameable so don't bother trying). A few seconds after they are downed, Auriaya will summon a Feral Defender. Don't worry about it (no tameable either). A few seconds after that, she'll summon the Swarming Guardians....a group of little metallic looking, hunched stanced, red eye glow'ed panthers. These are the ones you want. Target one...wait for Auriaya to fear...then when the effect wears off quickly begin tame. Its tricky but well worth the effort when you see this beautiful and unique kitty pad up next to you.

Gah, lucky! I really hope you're able to get one, I really, really like them! I just wish they were found somewhere else other than in an instance.

Here's what I did:

Have with you one tank and one healer - get everyone else in the raid to stay at the top of the steps. This way, you have a 1/3 chance of getting the cats to spawn on you. They need to spawn on you in order for you to tame them (they get something like 100k aggro on the person they're spawned on, and they only have 4k health or something). Once they spawn on you, it's fine. I think you're probably able to be healed but that's up to your discretion. I had no need to use haste items or hero myself, and that was with a considerable amount of fumbling around - bf aggroed all the kitties off me and broke my tame, I had to choose another etc etc... so they won't lose aggro or despawn unless they're killed :3

Once you've got your kitty everyone else can come down and help finish off the boss.

super easy tame. went in with a group of 4 to do a couple achieves for a friends rusted and get the cat for me.

kill the 2 big adds at the start... make sure to let your healer know not to heal you when you get swarmed and dps not to touch any of the adds when you are taming. then its literally target the first one you get and just tank them all while taming.

its an awesome looking pet and I get more questions about it then any of my rares.

Good luck, Taluwen! Took my guild into that place to help our cat-obsessed guildmate. ;) Had a bit of trouble in the beginning as the guardians kept spawning on everyone but our huntress. Other than that, just make sure no one AOEs, take out the big cats pronto, and I believe distracting shot will bring one of the guardians to you if they spawn on another. You'll have to let us know how it goes! *Keeps fingers crossed for you*

Yeah, they didn't take long to spawn really. Maybe 20/30 sec into the fight? I'm not entirely sure, we just sat there and did nothing til they did xD

Good luck though, yeah, they're gorgeous e_e Pantheon is one of my favourite kitties.

Would 1 healer be enough or should we have 2?

Good luck, and let me know what your raid ends up being.

I have found myself strangely addicted to my Kojin (Pogeyan) on Gypsi-which is shocking as I found and then tamed her on a whim and didn't think I would keep her. Now I find myself pulling her out of my stable more often then any of my other pets there except for my Snarler.

I've been thinking of trying to get a group together to see about getting a black kitty for Shade. The only problem being that I am in a mini-guild with my best friend and our alts-and I don't know anyone else on my realm, so I would likely have to spend a lot of time hanging in SW trying to find a group or seeing if I can buy a group to run me at the worst-as I dont think two hunters could solo their way to the guardians, level 85 each or not, lol.

The guardians are *not* immune to Distracting Shot, BTW. So if you have a massively hasted tame (6 seconds or less) then you can Distracting Shot one and tame it. Unfortunately the one time I tried this, I didn't have enough haste, but I was able to pull it and start the tame five or six times before I realized it just wasn't going to work. Yes, they're immune to freeze traps. Unfortunately. :(

As for being able to two-man it... the Leviathan might be possible, but the massive amounts of full party AOE that Tantrum Robot throws would make it pretty much nigh impossible to two man that one. Likewise with Kologarn, as well as his ability to grab a person and insta-kill them if you don't do enough damage to the grabbing hand.
Come see Kurasu's stables!
