Long time lurker, first time poster, so let me just share with you a few lines about me.
I started playing WoW a week after it hit stores. My first character was a hunter, of course

Three years ago, I made another hunter and I named her Foxglove. Her trusty companion was an owl by the name of Hazel (cookies to anyone who gets the reference) and they had lots of adventures together. The high point of their collective carreers was when they kited Ironeye the Invincible all around the shimmering flats, when they were still below his level. But they had to retire too.
Then I made my newest huntress, Alleta (which means something along the lines of "Little wolf") and I had decided to only tame dogs and wolves for pets. That means I'll have a dog, a wolf, a worg, a worg ravager, a fox, the Kurken, a hyena, maybe Chrommagus, Skoll and Karoma. In addition to those, I had allowed myself the following exceptions to the rule; All the spirit beasts and...Olm! And so the tale begins...
I was chilling in Stormwind, when I ran out of Mithril for my Engineering projects. With the Hero's Call board right next to me, and the guide I was following saying Felwood was an excellent place to find Mithril, I was won over. So I jumped on the gryphon to Wetlands, got on the boat and ended up in Theramore. With no connecting Flightpaths.
Bah!
So I went back, remembered the boat actually sailed to Teldrassil from Stormwind (I haven't gotten used to there being a harbor, yet), got on it and waited for the game to load. I then flew to Moonglade (had the FP from the Lunar festival) and went south through the tunnel.
Now, you see where this is heading. But there's a twist!
I go south from the tunnel, ignoring quests. Hey, I know I got the breadcrumb quest from the Hero's Call board, but I figured I'd start with that and then work north through the zone.
I make it past the worgen tree, not really finding many mithril nodes, when suddenly I see a yellow dot on my minimap. And next to the Mithril node was...Olm!
My heart skipped a beat. I immediately got off my horse, dismissed my pet (bye, bye generic wolf skin) and started taming.
"Target level too high." (or something like that)
I had just turned 47 when I'd left Stormwind. Olm was one level higher than me (well, 3/4ths, due to random killing and exkploring), and I had to change that. Fast!
I summoned pet number two (and thanked my stars for that option!) and decided to powergrind. 10 minutes into that, I realised I wouldn't be able to make it. I had an appointment coming up, which meant I had about 30 minutes to gain half a level. Then I remembered the Worgen tree.
See you later, Olm!
Dash, pony-ride, only two quests available! Oh well, they'll lead somewhere. They did. They led into a cave, where I was utterly lost. To make it worse, I had to deal with hammer-throwing goblins after I was done with the cave. The kind of hammer-throwing goblins that stun you and won't leave you alone. I died. Corpse-run. Died again. Finally made it to the quest giver.
One bar left. 5 minutes to go.
Questgiver gives me two quest and I thank the stars again that they were in the same area. After taking revenge on the hammer bros. and igniting their oil, I make it back to the quest-wolf and ding!
At this point, I'm going to be late for my appointment, but my mind is focused on one thing.
Olm, I'm coming for you!
All sort of thoughts were going through my head, and I prepared myself for the disappointment I would face when I found Olm's corpse, and some blood elf paladin standing over it.
I got to the place where I left him...
And there he was. Dismount, dismiss pet, tame, tame, tame!
And Olm was mine. My heart nearly gave out. I gave a squeal, kissed my screen and went to my appointment.
And here he is!
