I was doing laps about Northrend just because, and who do I spot? For the first time in the wild, Arcturis!

Well, I got to play Santa Claus in the deserts of Uldum. I had logged in after work to check on things and AWOOGAH!

Strangely, he hadn't poofed into view. The big, beautiful black bug was just chillin'. Pacing back and forth. Waving his pincers. Would anyone take him home and love him please? It was quite lonely with those hyenas and beetles. Frightening with rare hunters about who would step on him.

I didn't see anyone on my friends list that I knew wanted black. So I called out. Any hunters want to tame madexx in black? I got a few 'wtf is that' 'can I kill it' type responses. I said no, I tagged it. But it was good for tame. So I got a hopeful whisper. He hopped on his hunter and flew over.

Fare thee well, Madexx and your new owner! And some screenies! One is a glamor close up, of course. But we had to put Madexx in ice. He was frightfully hot from the sun.

Argh the most nerve-wrecking Jadefang tame-away ever!

Since I gave Skoll to a fellow huntress once, we've been keeping contact and updating eachother about rare tames we did. I get a whisper from her today that Jadefang is up and if I had the daily...I said no sadly, but I'll go help her out. I was on my priest, and I really hoped Leap of Faith would work. The daily wasn't up, but I used the unplug-replug method to get myself up there.. Leap of Faith didn't work -_- (dumb imo) We tried to find a DK, we had no luck. We tried wiht the other shale-spiders, to freeze-tame them from the ledge, but didn't work either. In the end she decided to try the replug method too. I used mind vision on her to check progress Several failed times, several very close drops, I could tell she was annoyed lol. After a dc, she comes back and says "Last try!!" And she did it! Tame sucsessful, we were both happy. Jadefang kept her name, which is great

All in all, this took about an hour or more But worth it!

Well during my entire week in Uldum I only have two give away pics but, four Madexx were given away:
2 brown
2 green

Gave away Karoma yesterday. Ended up with a friend, after much searching to no avail. (Said friend already had a ghost wolf, so wasn't sure she'd want Karoma too.) Karoma kept her name in the end.

So far my rare homing count is 8 Gondrias, 2 Loque'nahaks, 3 Skolls, 1 Aotona, 1 Takk, 1 Dart, and 2 Humars. I haven't seen any of the Cata rares more than once yet, but I do circle over their spawn points every once in awhile out of pure habit.

I havent successfully given out many rares at all (mostly cause i dont see them).

i tried and failed to hand over Deathmaw twice, ive homed Rak'shiri (once he was slain infront of me tho while calling a hunter), Death Howl, Humar, King Krush (one time i failed because ppl jumped out and killed him to 'save' me cause i tagged him), Spiteflayer (failed the first time i discovered him tho..), tried and failed to rehome Arcturis (someone slew just to screw over the hunter that was coming to tame, even tho i didnt actually find someone before he was slain and i also had him tagged).

Ive helped my guild master catch skoll and loque by telling her about spawn points she never knew about (and hey guess what, they spawned in those spots ), i held krush down for half an hour for her which was a huge pain since the ppl i hired to look for loque kept beating on him when he attacked em but then ran away till they left combat to reset him

was lotsa fun and also quite scary at times cause im always worried someones gonna walk on by and murderize them >.O

I gave away another Terrorpene yesterday. That would be twice now...seems whenever I want to find him I just go look and he's up without a soul around. Except of course when I wanted to tame him...

Also after Kari's northrend adventures for the spirit beasts, my friend and I were doing the elders and I told him to fly up the river and check. Sure enough another Arcturis, which I held while he went to get his hunter.

Besides those I've held and given away many old world rares, recently Ravasaur Matriarch and Ashtail. Don't remember the others really.

Gave away Sambas today!

I was casually searching for him for Mel, my hunter-buddy who got Jadefang yesterday. He wasnt up, so I parked on one of his spaws and went afk. When I came back, I was dead. Figured it was him who killed me, but no. It was Deathwing, damnit! And I missed the achivement. While I was ragey in Gchat I flew a bit souther and there he was. Sambas.

I quickly whispered her, and changed spec to heals. Did a holy nova, just to keep aggro and to tag him, and kept healing myself. Mel was on her way, flying. Then suddenly, DAMN DOORBELL! Omgwtf, i forgot my friends were just about to arrive. I basicly flew to the door, opened and yelled at them to just get in my room as I flew upstairs. Fortunatly, I still had Sambas on me, Mel was still flying, huge chunk of my HP was gone, but I healed up. She got there and froze Sambas, dismissed Jade, but the tame wouldnt start. I still had too much aggro. So I ran untill I left combat, and ran back just intime to see the yellow flash! Was so happy and relieved, and both my friends were there to witness an awesome tame. They don't play WoW but they get me ^^!

I gave away a brown Madexx four days ago, to a very nice and quite appreciative troll hunter, when the Spousal Unit came across it while doing dailies. Last night, looking for the elusive red Madexx, the green spawned, and was given a home by another troll hunter. I'm sensing a trend here....

I just hate seeing rares killed, when I know hunters are looking for them.

My first time ever seeing Madexx today and he turned out to be black (5:40 pm server time on Drenden)...which is not the colour I want so I tagged, trapped and whispered hunters. A paladin flew by and hovered looking at Madexx for a minute but didn't land. Thank you Mr./Miss. Pally for not stopping and killing him!

No pics, but a quick story!
I was in queue for a heroic with my brother and a guildy. It's a 15 minute wait, so I decide to do some Archaeology. The closest place is in Twilight Highlands.
Because of who I am, I fly roughly along Karoma's spawn points. I already have her, but why not? It's not like I'm going to find her!
Long story short, a few seconds later I'm on the ground, keeping a tagged Karoma frozen.
I tell the guild. Nothing.
I start whispering hunters. The first three don't even respond!
Finally I get to the last hunter. And she wants to tame her!
...Whoops, I'm in group already. Crud. I apologize to the group, then drop. Invite the hunter, and watch her tame.
She was very happy, and I was ridiculously happy. It feels awesome to pass on a rare!

It's awesome to see you guys keeping up the pet give-away ^^ I have been busy leveling alts and what not, and the few tameable rares I have come by, were such I was looking for myself, so I have been slacking with this for quite a while now. It got me thinking yesterday, that I have three hunters on which I can have a total of 75 pets on.. Thats alot, and I just made another one.. xD

So I was going to all the new cata zones trying to decide which one I liked best for farming ore and along the way I decided to check for rares as well. Since rehoming is fun and I have all the cata rares I want (STILL undecided about Madexx). I figured Ghostcrawler might be up since there was no one...I was the only Horde hunter in all of vashj'ir and I have yet to hear of someone successfully killing GC.

Sure enough he was up and I spent the next 20 mins slowly following him as he disappeared and reappeared, trying to find someone to tame him. I /who 85 hunters and started from the bottom of the list (I don't know why I do that). The first hunter said they were MM so they didn't want a spirit beast. Next two hunters never responded but the next one did. They were a bit confused, as I found out later they were pretty new to WoW. They left their friend in the dungeon they were running and came to tame. After a bit of a mishap from my devilsaur trying to protect the hunter...silly devilsaur...we healed up let GC reappear and tried again. Success! They were so happy and greatful for my help and generosity that they named GC after me (I'm not sure if Kormai fits a ghost crab but it's now female so that works...take that Ghostcrawler the Dev!). It was really late and I totally forgot to get a screen shot after the tame but it makes me so happy when I've made another hunters day and given them the gift of an awesome rare pet!

Hmm, a couple of stories here. The other day, I went off looking for a spirit beast for a friend who was online at the time; incredibly late hour, btw. I was quite giddy about that story, and posted it here: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10184.

On another occasion, I went to N. Stranglethorn on Nazthandol (my Petopians hunter) for leveling and, as it turned out, an awful lot of mining. Shortly after arriving, I saw someone come into Grom'gol with a tamed Pogeyan (must have already been cached while in Orgrimmar waiting for the zeppelin, since I didn't hear a peep from _NPCScan). Didn't really think much of it; I now wish I had inquired as to when they had tamed their kitty. Anyways, it wasn't a skin that I was interested in taming; I'm quite happy with The Rake.
So, I quest (and mine!) away for I don't know how long, and suddenly come upon a very large kitty. SilverDragon goes off upon mouseover; it's Pogeyan. I sit there, trying to get a yes or no from the Petopians who were online at the time. Eh, no takers. So, on to a /who search. Hey, there's 1 hunter in Stranglethorn ...and his name is Nazthandol. Gah, gets me every time. So, time to widen the search. I go with the lowest level hunter, since it's an easy way of choosing who to ask. First hunter I asked was a taker, so I instructed them to take the zeppelin from Tirisfal to Grom'gol, and invited them to a group.
So, while I waited, I shot Pogeyan and lured the beast into a waiting Freezing Trap. I'm too low of a level for Trap Launcher, so I had the trap right in front of me for ease of retrapping. Huhwha?!? Tegan, my pet bear (so named because a certain someone shuttled me over to Dun Morogh for this bear), has just reared up to attack! Oh, that was Demoralizing Roar; the bear made sure to not break CC, as she should. Once it comes off CD, Tegan reapplies Demoralizing Roar. Huh, the pet AI is 'smarter' than I had thought. But, it was getting annoying, so I thanked Tegan and told her to stand down. I keep on retrapping; such a tedious job. Nobody comes by to say hi to us, which is a good thing.
Finally, a certain Forsaken gal shows up. Finally! Tame Beast... fail. Oh, now I need to FD - if only I could FD! So, I tell her to wait and try again once I say so, then proceed to run away from the Pogeyansicle. Once I've run far enough away for Pogeyan to drop me as a target (my bear as well), I give her the go-ahead. I run back, just in time to see Pogeyan shrink and walk to the Forsaken hunter's side.
