Help With A Pet Theme (OldBones)

Right Mons, De hunta old bones is lookin' for some help wit fleshing out (pun intended) his stable slots. He got ta lv 60 wit only three pets (tho Frat Bear should count at least three times cause one bear can't possibly hold dat much awesome, ask for de story if ya interested) and he be wondering if anyone has ideas on what he should be fillin' de stable wit... eitha now or in de future

Dere is one caveat tho' Oldbones he be a theme hunta, he focuses on de dead pets, he willin' ta think about utta's but no Mammals, Loa help ya if ya even suggest it... Doesn't trust em ya see, always doing odd tings like evolving, givin off body heat, and de live birth *shudder* disgusting!

He also a little leery of reptiles as dere always de chance dey could evolve inta Mammals and den begin carrying on de above unnatural actions and o course who knows what dem birds be tinking? Used ta be reptiles ya know... but still.... still... dere some possibilities dere, if ya tink ya know some good ones in eitha of dem categories run a gnome up de flagpole and see who salivates.

So far he got:
Undead: Boar, Wolf, Bear, Hawk
De Lone Hunta (Well he was more interested in a sword stand and de wolf came wit it)
And he plannin' on makin a full sweep of de Spirit beasties and De Terropene (He Figgas dat any reptile wit burning hot liquid magma runnin' through it veins is unlikely ta take any truck wit dis whole mammal business)

If ya can tink of anything ya tink might fit inta de theme let em know... He looked at de site but De lone Hunta ain't in dere either so who knows what he might have missed?

You have pretty much all the "dead" pets covered so I think that gives you a healthy amount of options.

Well I ask'd him and he looked ova de pics ya showed, least till ya got ta de bat when he started screaming and tried ta shoot me in de face... seem dey be mammals wit de attitude o' birds, de worst o' both worlds according ta him (I threw some rabbits at him and fled in de ensuing carnage)

He did seem ta grin a bit when he got ta de Scorp and Wasp, I *SWEAR* I heard him say someting like "Who's a cute mammal reaping machine? yes you are! yes you are!"

But given de fact dat Forsaken ain't found anything funny since he discovered a gnome stuck in a hole like terrain bug I gotta doubt it... (Ever seen a forsakin' stand over a hole muttering "It puts the lotion in the basket or else it gets the hose again" and pretendin' ta eat a sandwich?" Dat someting made up of equal parts horror and humor dere let me tell you)

I wasn't sure with the bat, couldn't remember if they counted as mammals or not.
Hopefully he sees something he likes.

How about the Skeletal Zombie Boar skin? Or the Dead Eagle,... those are the first that came to my mind.

Here a couple I think of for you.

Bone Spider - they look dead to me
Chimeara - cold cold cold. Not likely to turn into a mammal
Wasp - can be deadly. Pun intended.

Those are what come to my mind. Not sure if you want to go with insects or not.

How about some pets very, very unlikely to evolve into mammals? Outland has some very nice options.

- Silithids. Classics (my personal faves, they look like Zerglings), Bosses and in 4.1, Ants
- Ravagers. Very alien-looking
- Outland chimaeras
- Wasps
- Worms, especially jormungars
- Netherrays
- Sporebats
- Warpstalkers
- Crocolisks
- Shale spiders. Nothing's less mammalian than a pet rock!
- in 4.1, an Outland Hydra

These ravagers are extra spikey and have red glowing eyes of rage:


Then there's all the spiders; spikey spiders and bone spiders in particular.

Finally, a non-Kurken core hound would be a good idea. If a lava turtle is good enough for old bones, then a lava hound ought to be as well.

Yes, he's picky. I was looking over his stables with him last night, just before he posted this. I got the mammal/possible mammal rant too much. Even though birds are not mammals at all...*sigh* He's got the diseased bear, who is by far his favorite. An undead boar, one of the skeletal vultures and the Forsaken starter spider. He tamed the Lone Hunter last night, sword intact. And I admit, I was proud of my husband. He's going after a diseased wolf soon too. He lists it, but he hasn't tamed it yet.

I could see him with a scorp and a wasp. And I like the idea of a ravager with him. Outland Hydras would be perfectly alien once available and if possible, the Ghost of Atha. He grinned at that one, too. And heck, yeah, corehound! He could so get a corehound.

Thanks for the suggestions all. I will make certain he sees these and ponders them well.

If he's okay with alien-esque creatures, then a sporebat and nether ray might suit him as well.

Ohh, nether rays have shark-like teeth (that is, rows and rows of teeth); not very pleasant to look at up close! Good thinking, Tyger.

Yeah, I put the red one in the huge listing of pictures I gave Oldbones since it's sort of a blood red, I thought that it might work well with the theme.

He's a troll hunter, but yes, the bear in your sig would be befitting of the theme.

How about a Silithid with a broken brain case? Look pretty dead to me--and unquestionably not a mammal!



You could also maybe consider a ghostly Jormungar.

Talked ta Oldbones and he said interesting,yes,yes,no,yes,no,no,no,oh gods no, yes, maybe, are you insane,perhaps,yes,no, I'll reap-your-soul-for-the-suggestion-mammal, perhaps, no, no, yes.

He also seems ta have found talk of a flaming boar (de thought of a mammal eternally burning pleases him), a zombie bear wit some sort of purple haze about him, and he keeps talkin' about training a warpstalker to warp into the bedrooms around stormwind and abduct small pets... not sure what he plans ta do wit em, and no way I askin'

Also I need ta clear up a misconception, Oldbones be a forsakin' hunta... I jus here cause I have de forum account and less likly ta punctuate my sentences wit gunshots. De bones is more of a shoot first and ask questions from de corpse kinda guy, de sad ting is it actually worked once so he made it his default setting and sees no reason ta change.
