I found this post on mmo about a mount that never made it to live.
I was just browsing through some old blog posts of mine and I came across a screenshot for a proposed mount that never made it past the Wrath beta. It was a Warpstalker mount. I wonder why Blizzard never implemented it on live servers? What do you think about it: would you like to see a Warpstalker mount in-game at some point?
It just doesn't seem like a very practical mount, what with the rows of spikes making it rather difficult to saddle the beast. Granted, they managed to make nether rays, or all things, into mounts...
AKA Nazthandol, in <Petopians> (US)
Cute doesn't need an explanation.

I think it's just a bug. You know, like all the Glory of the hero achives we're listed as Utgarde Pinnacle (maybe not a known) where text gets pixed up.
Or like how sometimes when you don't have a pet with you it says "Call (last NPC's name you saw)"
Anyway, I doubt it was a mount, or atleast a legit one.
I read somewhere that in WoW lore...Warp Stalkers were actually used as mounts.
Here it is:
Wowpedia: "Warp stalkers are predators that have been corrupted by the Burning Legion. They are native to Draenor in the areas of Terokkar Forest and Netherstorm. There are reports that Legion officers use warp stalkers as mounts. Warp stalkers will sometimes prey on travelers. They are both smart and powerful, with the ability to phase in and out of the physical and astral dimensions. This ability disturbs magical energy, making them an annoyance to magic-users"
Personally I'd KILL to get a rideable Warp Stalker! I'd like to ride into battle on a red one!
Interestingly, in ModelViewer the mount is scaled properly and seated correctly. It may have been a placeholder tag for something else, but judging by the ModelViewer appearance, it fits quite well as a mount! I was surprised, but here goes:
Would totally ride one. I've always liked the Warp Stalker models. Their run animation is very neat and fits their low body, reptilian self. There's just something in their face that makes them so appealing.
I have a white with blue stripes as a pet. Would be neat if you could have a pet out while mounted. Matching mount/pet! Ooh.. can we get little Warp Stalker companions, too? They made little "lizard" critters out of them. Trio of warp stalkers.
Eeeeepp I want it!!!!!!! They made it so that cows can ride a scorpid, lol, I think they can make other toons ride a warp stalker.
I still think hunters should be able to mount their pets, I would love to ride Terrorpene into battle
I belive Blizz had plans on warpstalker mounts sins its in the lore but ditched it rather early.
I would love to have one but i hate warpstalkers run. Its so odd on the pets, id hate to see the mount going crazy like that, though sins its in bigger scale it might run smooth for what i know.
While this feature of the Grimtotem Spirit Guide wasn't exactly intended... - it will still be possible in future for everyone who wishes to tame this NPC to do so
They may have actually planned to do it, and it's just been sitting. Dragonhawks were ridable long before they became public transit or mounts. And there are still two unused HIppogryph mounts that were initially created for CE.

Except the shoulder spikes are going through your lower legs...
