An Odd Ghostcrawler Story

Unread post by Tyuriwen »

Okay, I know a ton of people who would feel I need a slap in the face for this story, but here goes!

My boyfriend and I were achievement hunting (as we do), and thought it would be nice to give it a go to get [From Hell's Heart I Stab At Thee] (kill the whale shark in Vash'jir). Me being a semi-competant kiter and him a Shadow Priest, and hearing from a fellow hunter it's easily soloable, we went to give it a go.

Now since Cata began, I always had a nagging feeling to check Ghostcrawler's patrol. It's massive and out the way, only people who know about him I suspect would even bother checking. Well while levelling, grabbing Earthern Ring rep items, I never once saw him. Time passed, I kept checking every week or so, and nothing really. It didn't make me sad, since I wasn't really going for him.

When we entered Vash'jir last night, both our NPCScans went off like crazy! Poseidon was dead, Mobus (sp?) was up, the Horde only rare Captain...so I thought 'what about Ghostcrawler?'.

With no rush I went to check his patrol, casually scanning. And NPCScan went off. But this time, there was no panic, no 'OH MA GAWD WHERE'S MY TAME BEAST I'M SURV AGH!', casually I swapped spec, and hit tame...Didn't even put a trap down (he hits like a truck, so that was a bad idea!). But yeah, I am a very excitable person. Every major tame I get I get so emotional. But this...I'm not quite sure what to make of it.

I'm usually really good with names but again...I don't want him to be a lost cause, and I'm not going to give up, so I would like a double barrel name (e.g Frostfang for a cat or something) to reflect his looks, then hopefully once he's named and we run heroics together, I can find out what he's about. =)

(We got the Whale Shark down, but only after he took a few chomps out of my aggro-pulling bf xD)

My kitty's name is Frostfang! :D If you want a two-parter name you can try the link in my sig, which randomly generates them. Sometimes they're awful (Bloodblood or Hardfur) and sometimes they're pretty awesome (Ripgrin or Blackpaw, etc).

Maybe something like Seawraith, or Spiritclaw... or GhostChowder... >.>

And don't feel bad about the slightly non-excited aspect of the tame--I've grabbed quite a few pets that everyone else loves just to see what the fuss is about. Some I've kept (green Madexx for one) and others, like Terrorpene and Sambas, I just didn't click with and eventually released. Time will tell if your new pet is right for you ;D

PitterPatter. I love the lil sound mine makes. Reminds me of when I was stationed out In Florida. Trying to catch a crab one day I jumped off the edge of the dock and into the ocean. I caught him but my cell phone in my pocket that I had forgotten about sure wasn't happy. But hey, dinner was great that night. :P

@Sherb: Good to know. =3

Thanks Ach, that's exactly what I was looking for! And yeah, like I said, I'm not so sure about this one, but time will tell, and I'll keep you all posted =) (I'm not a fan of Sambas either)

@Purr: You poor thing! That definately sounds like something that would happen to me haha!

I wasn't a big fan of Sambas at first. Loved the model though so I tamed him. Later named him Tsavo. If any of ya seen "The Ghost in The Darkness" you will understand why. :headbang: Purrfect match.

total derailment here.

But I've seen the actually taxidermied Lions of Tsavo that the movie is based on. Freaking HUGE albino juvenile mane-less male lions. Seriously, even dead and stuffed in a display case in Chicago's Field Museum, you still think they're watching you. *shudder*

I think that site should be in a sticky for this forum--a lot of online naming resources listed there.
