Just read the first post, so this may have already been stated, but it looks like you focused too much on rares that you'll never really use often and not enough on pets that are "signature" to you. If you have a stable full of all the rare pets it's like epic items, everybodies gonna have them eventually, which takes away from their epicness. You can only display 1 pet at a time, so why'd you want it to be something the next 3 geared 85 hunters have when Hunters are the only class that can choose custom weapons?

Some folks have already mentioned this but it's worth reiterating; You never can know what pet is gonna really stick with you!

My suggestion would be to go on a mad taming spree. Maybe you'll find a model that's 'personality' you just can't live without, or maybe an epic taming story will cement one pet as your ultimate buddy. You could also give some of the taming challenges around the forums a try if you need a jumping off point.

Also make sure you give your pets a really good trying on. Have a holiday period with them when you use only that model for a couple of days and try to do some crazy stuff with him, have him tank some old raids for you, etc. That little bit of bonding time may help to highlight a particular pet.

The size of our stables and the ease of pet switching now is a bit of a negative on the pet bonding issue. Back in the day when it was only 5 pets, with only one available till you checked into a town it was a lot easier to have some really significant experiences with a single buddy. On the other hand, the current viability of all the pet types sure gives us a ton of models to choose from!

I only have the rares because I like how they look, not necessarily because they're rare. I know every hunter has one, but each time I tamed them was special because of how long it took me, personally. That and my sister had helped look for most of them so that made it more special since I don't get to see her too often now.

I got my baby Misty back. Once she's blue again, I'll be whole again <3 ^^

But as for the idea of taming random things, I started a new hunter to try it out, and so far, it's interesting lol.

I was so supprised on how much I liked my white gorilla Uhkloc. I've tried a gorilla on my other characters, but they did not mesh. Bitka will not get rid of him. We just click.
