Admin - Basically the head honcho. What she says goes. Handles any problems with Global and Reg. Mods. Handles any and all Bans and gives permissions to warn members to Global Mods.
Global Mod - Meanders around the forums. Handles all warnings to members after having an OK from Admin/heated topics.
Reg. Mod - Moves forum posts as needed. Locks a heated topic and reports it to Global Mob for them to look at with a note to why the topic was locked. Does basically the little things to help the Global Mods keep peace.

Kinda reminds me of the Jedi Council. You got the Master of the Council, the Council itself, then the regular peace-keeping Jedi.
I think that's a great way to explain it and a good idea if not wanting to just add more mods.
on the whole this thread had so much flaming but this didn't, all depends on how touchy the subject is to the persn posting and should mayb be a thing of puttin the the original post that if it is something that I guess you could say upset you then maybe don't post since we are trying to keep this place flame free... just a thought

I only use two forums, this one and my poultry one. On BYP - the poultry one - there are mods for each section and a couple of admin who can do the whole board (duh) but they also have a mod + admin board that only they can see. The purpose is for them to discuss and also for them to move threads that need editing or may require some deep mod discussion about the life of.

So thread A gets reported by several people. Mod of that section moves the thread to the mod board where Mod can prune it and then move it back or leave it there for general mod and admin agreement. Threads moved back and forth don't show as moved. One min they are there and the next they are not.

I agree that a couple more mods would be good. Perhaps spread your mods over timezones? That way you have a better chance of someone being around at most hours.

I think that since there aren't always mods on that adding more however it be done would help. If it comes to like a hierarchy type make sure name colors are different for the groups it would help people out knowing who is what type of mod.

I do like the idea of a mod only thread\section because now if something needs t be disccued the can do it there wheather is on a ban, thread lock, etc. And not having to mass pm xD

Whew! *wipes sweat off brow* Long read.

Forgive my mentioning this but I do have an idea also for a mature content place that I have seen on another forum I visit that's worked out beautifully. It's reptile forum and as such has many posters under the age of 18. What the forum owner has done was created a forum that is purely 18+. In order to access this you have to enter your date of birth, request access and then wait for mod approval to get in. The forum cannot be viewed or even posted on without the approved mod access and you also MUST be logged in to even see it. Otherwise all you see is the forum title. If a forum for 18+ was wanting to be created I feel this is the safest method to have to avoid anyone who shouldn't be seeing it actually viewing the content. I know this little topic is technically dead but wanted to throw that idea out there.

I also agree that maybe varying levels of mods could work. :D

I hesitate to ask what 18+ content can be found on a reptile forum ...

On that topic - I realize that I haven't started a thread on mature and inappropriate content yet as I said I would. But let me ask one of the questions that was in my mind here since it's convenient.

I changed my mind. The new thread is over here: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=10555
