Mini Raptor Pet (Temporary Lols)

So I had the quest "Waptor Twapping" near Ratchet today. The trap is laid, calls nearby raptors, and shrinks them but at the same time turns them friendly, cancelling any tame in progress.

If, however, you time the tame to finish as the shrink occurs, for example with a fading freeze trap or an Entrapment Frost Trap at max range, you can get a mini-raptor pet. Be aware, though, that this is a hidden buff that fades with your (or the pet's) death.

Meanwhile, though, it's quite cute!

i managed to do it twice (had someone else place trap when at 3,5 secs or somehting alike), but i'm afraid the tinyness dissapeared each time after a couple of mins oh well it is indeed temporary fun

...it may have grown big mine but... even when big i like him...likely the most surprising bond for me in pet history...i feel like i've raised him...watching him grow old from his young innocent years...aah the good times ^^

Does this mean that the 'oily coat' fades after you or the pet dies?

No, that one stays--there's a few that do, but this one does not, sadly.

I might have to resubscribe just to get this one. What's the time on the trap?

Try timing it so the raptor hits the "mini" trap right as the tame completes. That said, I only kept it for 15 minutes or so before testing death--and a few people have said that their raptors "grew up" after 5. So I wouldn't resubscribe just for this! (It's a few minutes at worse, or until pet death at best, apparently)
