Nobody but Mozag and Azu's cookies likes me. :(
I also exist on DeviantArt.

Er. I actually think that spider is... sort of adorable...
But if it was in my house I'd want it OUT. Or tamed as a pet.

Funny you say that; I was thinking that a good response would be "Call Vephriel and ask if she's interested in a spider or two. Or ten, or more".Vephriel wrote:I'd probably be tempted to keep one of the little ones and raise it, but I'd safely relocate the large one and the other guys outside.
Cute doesn't need an explanation.

Re: The off topic thread
A lot of my ideas and opinions have changed in 2012. One of which was that I used to think that whaling was good, and it was cultural and that people should have a right to kill and eat whale meat. But, looking more into the intelligence of whales and dolphins I've come to the conclusion that it's bad and it shouldn't be done unless the species itself is doing a great harm to animals that live in an area it has come into and has taken over.
Let's say the Pacific Bottlenose Dolphin starts to swim into the Amazonian Rivers and eats a lot of fish and starts to out-compete the Boto, or the Amazon River Dolphin. If people are starving from the lack of fish, the Boto is being killed (Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins can be very violent) and out-competed, then the locals should have the right to hunt down any Bottlenose Dolphin they see AND eat it. When the Pacific Bottlenoses have become either very rare or long gone from the Amazon, then the hunting of them can be switched back to being illegal. The Calves of any Dolphins can be put into captivity until they're adults and then released. They already would have a fear of humans, and thus would stay away from human interaction, like an animal should.
Another idea of mine is the existence of extinct animals and the reincarnation of extinct animals. I'll first talk about animals that I think still exist. Animals that, I think still MAY exist are:
- Thylacoleo Carnifex
- Giant Moa
- Euryapsids
- I'm still EXTREMELY doubtful about this one, but, Pterosaur
- Non-Avian Dinosaurs
- Leedsichthys
- Megalania. Somewhat doubtful of it.
Now, for things that I am absolutely 100% percent positive still exists to this day and lives in modern times. As you can see, it's a short list.
- Thylacine
- Teratornis
- Honestly, I believe Bigfoot is Gigantopithecus. So, Gigantopithecus.
Now, onto the reincarnation of extinct animals.
A few problems come up. How will we do it? How much will it cost? Will it be dangerous?
WHY SHOULD WE DO IT?
Let's start with the first question of how we will do it. We should start with a good group of animals probably all people want to see, Dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs have two living relatives today (That we know of). These are Birds and Crocodiles. Both very smart and charming animals, that when babies make you go AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Well, maybe only for Crocodilians. For Birds, they have to be adults to have some cute factor in the minds of many.
What we can do is simply find a species of Crocodile and a species of Bird, like say, an Alligator and a Grey Crowned Crane, you can simply mess with the genetics and turn it into a dinosar. You can simply change the body structure of the embryo with DNA and proteins until you can, with time, create a dinosaur. The same can be said with many other animals like Smilodon and Large Terror Birds.
For the question of how much will it would cost, probably a lot. However, it probably won't be as much as the money spent on finding the Higgs Boson, now wont it?
For the danger levels, it could be varied depending on the animal. An Alligator, for example, is one of the more docile species of Crocodilians, so we may want to start with one of them. We don't exactly know the danger level of Mammoths though, it was probably on the level of that of Elephants today. The same can be said for many other extinct animals recreated.
And, finally, why should we do it?
If we were to recreate such extinct animals, we could learn many new things through our little creation, like how they would hunt and how they could solve a simple problem. We could learn a large array of new things from a simple genetic creation that could further improve our understanding of the animal.

1. Your houseplants are alive, and you can't smoke any of them.
2. Having sex in a single bed is out of the question.
3. You keep more food than beer in the fridge.
4. 6:00 am is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
6. You watch the Weather Channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break
up."
8. You go from 130 days of holidays to 20.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up."
10. You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next
door won't turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.
16. You take naps from noon to 6 pm.
17. Dinner and a movie is the whole date instead of the beginning
of one.
18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 am would severely upset,
rather than settle, your stomach.
19. If you're a gal, you go to the drug store for ibuprofen and
antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff."
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never
going to drink that much again."
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real
work.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that
doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old
butt.
BONUS: When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate
them instead of asking "Oh s*$# - what happened?
I believe if you can believe out of nothing an explosion (big bang) happened then how far fetched can god be?
